Definitions

  • the invention relates to a combination of at least one inkjet printhead and a device for free spraying of an inkjet printhead according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the invention is used in microprocessor-controlled printing devices and is suitable for franking machines and other mail processing devices.
  • the inkjet print head is moved during printing and on the one hand cleaned and maintained in a wrongspositlon and on the other hand held in a printing pause in print readiness and can be regularly sprayed free.
  • An apparatus for the free spraying of an ink jet print head of an ink printing system in which the printed matter or mail pieces are transported past a fixed during printing ink jet print head and wherein the Ink printhead is arranged stationary pivotally behind a guide plate, and with the addition of the usual functions, such as wiping and sealing, a free spraying during the transport of the printed material or mail items is possible.
  • a free spray position near the printing position allows the elimination of the longer travel times from a printing position to a cleaning and sealing position.
  • a compact transport device for mail pieces is needed, which should not be polluted by the free spraying.
  • at least one ink cartridge is arranged opposite to the direction of gravity over a printing window in the z-direction of a Cartesian coordinate system.
  • at least one ink jet printhead ejects ink droplets opposite to the z direction in the direction of gravity, which fly through the printing window.
  • the printing window is arranged on the edge of a conveyor belt in the y-direction in a housing part, wherein the conveyor belt transports a flat good to be printed on the edge during printing in the transport direction x on the at least one print head over.
  • the FR-A-2768078 is the closest prior art of the invention according to claim 1 and shows a combination of an ink jet printing device and a maintenance station.
  • the inkjet printer has two inkjet printheads.
  • each ink jet print head is associated with a shaft-like protective cap which is connected to a suction device for sucking ink.
  • the shaft-like caps are arranged on a shaft support, which is adjustable by means of a motor-driven cam against a spring force from a first position in which the protective caps on the printheads through openings in the feed table, and a second position in which the protective caps of the inkjet printheads are removed and clear the way for a piece of mail to be printed.
  • the US 2006/001696 A1 also shows an ink jet printer with an ink jet printhead disposed above a support surface for the print material and a protective device for the ink jet printhead disposed below the running surface with a cover cap which is adjustable by means of an adjusting device through the running surface between a cover position and a release position.
  • the invention has for its object to develop a combination of at least one ink jet printhead and a device for free spraying of an ink jet printhead, which uses a free-jet slot to reduce the ink contamination in a postage meter.

Due to the spring action, free-standing wells are brought close to the ink-jet printheads, so that all ink jets are inside the free-fall wells.
  • the squeeze position is the print position. The inkjet printheads remain stationary during printing in the printing position and only the at least one free-jet pit is moved away from the ink-jet printhead. No separate engine is required for this.
  • the actuator equipped with a guide cam is actuated and the tray carrier with the free-injection chutes is moved downwardly against a spring force from the mail piece transport path.
  • a printing of the mail pieces can be realized.
