Definitions
- the invention relates to a rotary press according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- Rotary presses are used above all for the production of tablets, for example for the pharmaceutical sector. However, they can be used anywhere, where compacts of powder material are desired, for example in the confectionery and food sector, detergents, etc.
- the basic structure of a rotary press is always the same. It has a rotor which is driven about a vertical axis with a suitable drive motor.
- the rotor contains an upper and a lower punch guide, which receive upper or lower punch.
- the punches cooperate with bores of a die plate, which is arranged between the punch guides.
- the die holes are fed with molding material and heads of upper and lower dies cooperate with pressure rollers in printing stations to press the molding material into the die holes.
- the press material is fed into the die holes via a suitable filling station. Outside the printing stations, the punch heads are guided by suitable cam sections.
- the filling station is associated with a filling curve section, which ensures that the lower punches in the region of the filling station protrude a predetermined amount into the die bore. This measure determines the filling volume and thus also the weight of the pressed tablet.
- a guide curve ensures that the lower punches are raised so that the compacts can be detected by the scraper and deported.
- a corresponding cam section ensures that sufficient space remains for the filling station, to refill the press material.
- Such a rotary press is well known. It will be up for example DE 10 2004 040 163 A1 or US 2003/0072799 A1 , which describes the features of the preamble of claim 1, pointed out.
- the user of a rotary press decides which type of rotary press is required or optimal for its production. If he manufactures single-layer tablets in small batches, he will choose a relatively small rotary press, which has only one filling and dosing station and two printing stations. If the user wants to produce larger batches, he may prefer a rotary press, which has two filling and dosing stations, each with two printing stations. With such a rotary press, a two-layer tablet can be produced, if it is rebuilt accordingly. If the user wants to produce very large batches or three-layer tablets, he will provide three filling and dosing stations each with two printing stations. For each of the press types described, the machine frame must be designed accordingly, and the press manufacturer has, in order to meet the different user requirements, to launch different series for the rotary presses.
- the invention has for its object to provide a rotary press, which is the various user requirements with a minimum production cost and also can be subsequently converted to another form of use with little effort.
- the frame has an upper and a lower receiving platform.
- the at least one metering drive and the at least one pressure roller drive have identical attachment means.
- the receiving platforms have on the sides facing each other identical receiving means for the attachment means. It is therefore the same whether a metering drive or a pressure roller drive is attached to a receiving means of a platform.
- a single-layer tablet or a two-layer or multi-layer tablet can be produced using the identical platform.
- the rotary press according to the invention can be used for small batch sizes, but can be used by additional installation of further filling and dosing and printing stations for the production of single-layer tablets for large batches. It can also be converted for two-layer tablets or for three-layer tablets, if receiving means are provided on the platform for three metering stations and four printing stations.
- printing stations and filling and dosing stations are also replaceable in the rotary press attachable.
- the establishment of single-shift, two-shift or three-shift operation is possible in a simple manner with the same machine frame; likewise a conversion at the user.
- the production cost of such a flexible rotary press is relatively low, especially in view of the diverse applications, which is required in each case by a rotary press.
- the number of press designs is minimized.
- a single-layer tablet as well as a multilayer tablet can be produced with one construction if the corresponding stations are available.
- the lower receiving platform on seven receiving means may be formed by identical receiving openings in the lower or upper receiving platform.
- Both the metering or filling curves for the filling and dosing station and the pressure rollers are adjustable in height by means of a suitable metering or pressure roller drive.
- a suitable metering or pressure roller drive According to one embodiment of the invention, upper and lower receiving platform on cavities, in each of which at least one dosing and a pressure roller drive are arranged.
- the pressure roller drive and metering drive are identical and form a unit with a pressure roller or a filling and dosing station. It is therefore the same from the assembly ago, whether a printing station or a filling and dosing station is attached to a receiving means of the receiving platform. For this reason, no special construction or conversion of the rotary press is required to interpret the rotary press in the desired manner. It is understood that the cavities in the receiving platforms are easily accessible for assembly operations.
- a rotary press after Fig. 1 includes a frame having a lower receiving platform 10 and an upper receiving platform 12.
- the platforms 10, 12 are truss-like and contain multiple cavities.
- the receiving platforms 10, 12 are polygonal in outline, in the present case octagonal, with supports 14, 16 mounted on opposite sides on the outside holding the receiving platforms 10, 12 at a predetermined distance from one another.
- the supports 14, 16 are supported by damping elements 18 on lower supports 20, which in turn stand on a base platform 22.
- the base platform 22 is above feet 24 on the ground.
- the lower receiving platform 10 has a central column 26, on which a rotor 28 is rotatably mounted about a vertical axis.
- the rotor 28 integrally includes an electric drive motor (not shown).
- the type of built-in motor is about in DE 10 2004 040 163 A1 disclosed.
- the rotor 28 is composed of an upper and a lower punch guide, which are not separately exposed here.
- the punch guides lead in appropriate guide holes upper punch 30 and lower punch 32.
- the press punches 30, 32 cooperate with die holes of a die plate 36 together (shown only hinted).
- the press dies 30, 32 are also associated with guide curves, which are attached to the upper or lower non-co-rotating cam followers of the rotor. They are omitted for the sake of illustration. As will be further appreciated, the actual process area, i. the die plate and the majority of the punch guides are sealed by a housing 38, so that dusty pressing material does not escape to the outside.
- Fig. 1 It can be seen that at 40, 42 and 44 lower pressure roller assemblies are mounted on the lower receiving platform 10. The pressure rollers 46 of these pressure roller assemblies cooperate with the heads of the lower punches 32. Similarly, at 48, 50, and 52 upper pressure roller assemblies are mounted with a pressure roller 54 on the underside of the upper receiving platform 12. The pressure rollers 54 cooperate with the facing heads of the upper punch 30. It can therefore be stated that three printing stations per platform can be recognized with upper and lower pressure rollers 54 and 46, respectively. However, other printing stations can also be provided which are not shown in the present case. However, they are indicated with respect to the upper pressure rollers at 56, 58.
- a filling and dosing station 60a or 60b is also provided, which is arranged on the lower receiving plate 10. Details of the filling station are not shown.
- the lower pressure roller assemblies 40, 42 and 44 as well as the filling and dosing station 60a and 60b are attached to the receiving platform 10 by means of suitable plates 62.
- the attachment is done for example by screwing.
- the pressure roller assemblies include pressure roller drives for height adjustment of the pressure rollers 46, 54. These are e.g. at 64 for the upper receiving platform 12, shown at 66 and for the lower receiving platform 10. The attachment of these drives takes place in cavities of the receiving platforms 10, 12.
- the metering station 60 has a drive of the metering curve, which is also housed in a cavity of the receiving platform 10 and can be seen at 68.
- the attachment of the pressure roller assemblies on the receiving platforms 10, 12 takes place on a pitch circle, wherein both pitch circles can be of the same diameter.
- the receiving means on the platforms 10 and 12 are identical, so that for example the metering station 60 can be placed in place of the pressure roller assembly 62, 40 or 44.
- the pressure roller assembly 62 can be set to the position of the dosing station 60.
- the cavities in which the drives 64 or 66 or the dosing drive 68 are housed, identical recording means, so that a minimum effort for the manufacture, assembly or replacement is required.
- On the frame no special precautions have to be made for the respective type of use. With a planned number of receiving means in the platforms 10, 12, a number of different uses of the rotary press can be realized.
- FIGS. 2 and 3 should reflect the versatility of the rotary press Fig. 1 be explained.
- a receiving platform 10a is shown, which corresponds approximately to the lower receiving platform 10 Fig. 1 equivalent. It is provided with seven identical receiving openings 80, which lie on a pitch circle 82 which is concentric with the pitch circle of the die holes, as indicated at 84.
- the receiving openings have an approximately equal distance from each other and have only in the area 86 a greater distance. This area is the scraping area for the ejected compacts. This one is at 70 in Fig. 1 indicated by a slide.
- Each of the receiving openings 80 is adapted to receive either a lower pressure roller drive or a metering drive.
- Fig. 2 is the inclusion of dosing drives with D and the inclusion of a Vordruckrollenantriebs with 1 and a main pressure roller drive designated 2. It can be seen that single-layer compacts can be produced with the aid of such an arrangement, wherein the production capacity at the same rotational speed of the rotor is twice as large as in a rotary press which has only one dosing station and two printing stations.
- a two-layer tablet are produced, for example, the pressure roller 2 after Fig. 2 brought after the first filling and dosing D out of engagement on the stamp.
- the corresponding main printing station can be completely dispensed with.
- a three-layer tablet can be produced by three filling and dosing stations and four printing stations are provided.
- a metering drive also includes a filling device which is additionally to be attached so that the filling and metering stations are composed of the metering drive and the filling device.
- the upper receiving platform may also have receiving openings 80 and that at another arrangement of filling and dosing stations and pressure roller assemblies in the lower receiving platform 10a this results in a corresponding change in the position of the pressure roller assemblies in the upper receiving platform.
- a lower receiving platform 10b is indicated, which has eleven identical receiving openings 88. They are in turn arranged on a pitch circle 82.
- a five-layer tablet is produced.
- a filling and dosing station D is followed by a pre-press and a main press station 1 and 2, respectively. If only one single- or two-layer tablet is to be produced, the dosing station and pressure roller arrangement are to be correspondingly arranged so that the desired result is achieved.
- FIG. 4 is exemplary perspective of the pressure roller 46 after FIG. 1 shown. It is adjusted by a suitable drive and gear unit 100 in height.
- the unit 100 has a flange 102 which is screwed to a flange 104, on the flange 104 is mounted a guide 106 for the pressure roller 46.
- the flanges 102, 104 are in a receiving opening, as in the FIGS. 1 . 2 or 3 are shown attached to the associated receiving platform, here the receiving platform 10. All pressure rollers, as in FIG. 1 can be provided with an identical drive and gear unit 100 and form a unit to to install them in a suitable receiving opening of the receiving platform.
- FIG. 5 Also in FIG. 5 is the drive and transmission unit 100 after FIG. 4 shown in perspective. Its flange 102 is bolted to a flange 108 having the same dimensions as the flange 104 according to FIG FIG. 4 , The flange 108 has a guide 110 for a Dosierkurvenelement 112, which is attached to a rod 114, which in turn is guided in the guide 110.
- the drive and gear unit 100 can perform a height adjustment of the rod 114 and thus of the Dosierkurvenelements 112 to adjust the dosage in a not completely shown filling and dosing.
- FIGS. 4 and 5 One recognizes by means of the FIGS. 4 and 5 in that the pressure rollers and the dosing cam elements have identical drive and gear units and form a unit with them in order to retract them in a desired receiving opening in the platform 10 or 12, respectively FIG. 1 to install.

Description

- In
Fig. 1 ist zu erkennen, dass bei 40 bzw. - In
In
- Soll stattdessen in
- In
- In
12 nachFigur 1 anzubringen.
