Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for the wet treatment of laundry items according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the wet treatment of laundry items takes place both in commercial laundry machines as well as household washing machines in several steps, namely by washing, rinsing and dewatering, while also between the washing and rinsing can take place dewatering.
- the washing is done by a prewash and a subsequent wash.
- the treatment liquid for wet treatment of the laundry is exchanged between at least a few treatment steps. This is especially true for the pre-wash and final wash, the rinse and possibly the equipment liquid.
- treatment liquid obtained in at least a few treatment steps. This not only reduces the need for fresh water. Above all, such unused treatment additives are not lost.
- the treatment additives are, above all, washing-active substances, disinfectant-active substances, bleaching-active substances and / or finishing substances. Depending on the type of wet treatment of the laundry items and the use, in commercial laundries or private households, only some of the above-mentioned treatment additives are used.
- a method of laundering laundry is known in which at least one treatment additive in the treatment liquid is measured prior to reuse thereof. This measurement takes place during the intermediate storage of the treatment liquid with the treatment additive to be measured in at least one storage tank.
- This known method is not intended for washing machines, behind which a drainage device is provided for dewatering of the laundry coming from the washing machine.
- the US 2 968 172 A discloses a household washing machine, wherein during the ongoing washing process, the content of at least one treatment additive is determined in the washing liquid. It is not provided in this household washing machine, to check whether there are enough detergent-active substances in a reusable treatment liquid.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a method for economical washing and dewatering of laundry in the private and commercial sector.
- a method for achieving this object comprises the measures of claim 1. Accordingly, it is provided to measure at least one treatment additive during operation or during the ongoing treatment process of the laundry. It can be measured so to speak "in situ" the particular desired treatment additive. Expediently, a measurement of the or each relevant for the respective wet treatment treatment additive. The proportion of the respective treatment additive in the treatment liquid to be reused is measured before or alternatively during the supply of the treatment additive having the respective treatment treatment to the laundry to be treated. It will be so before reuse the treatment liquid determines the concentration of the respective treatment additive in the same, and at least one metered addition can take place before the treatment liquid containing the treatment additives is returned to the laundry.
- the measurement of the at least one treatment additive in the treatment liquid is carried out after the respective wet treatment of a laundry lot and before the wet treatment of the next batch of laundry.
- the concentration of the respective treatment additive is measured, while the treatment liquid containing them is in a storage tank.
- the proportion of the at least one treatment additive is determined in the treatment liquid arising during dewatering of the laundry. These are preferably both the free liquor and at least a large part of the bound liquor in the treatment liquid separated from the wash by means of a dewatering device.
- measuring the at least one treatment additive in the treatment liquid during operation of the washing device it is meant not only measurement during washing, rinsing or possibly finishing the laundry, but also between washing, rinsing and / or finishing operations of successive laundry items.
- the proportion of the at least one treatment additive in the treatment liquid during the return or in the course of the circulation of the treatment liquid is measured.
- proportion is meant preferably the concentration of the at least one treatment additive in the treatment liquid and / or the amount of the treatment additive. It can be determined by the amount of the respective treatment additive or its concentration in the treatment liquid before it is treated with the next batch of laundry. In this way, an ongoing monitoring of the treatment process can take place. The measurement of the concentration of the most important treatment additives in the treatment liquid makes it possible to determine before reuse of the treatment liquid whether and in what quantity a respective treatment additive has to be added.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the method provides that several successive measurements are made to determine the proportion of the respective treatment additive in the treatment liquid. All measurements are preferably carried out before the treatment liquid containing the at least one treatment additive is returned to the wash. It is through the multiple measurements possible to monitor the post-dosing of the respective treatment additive. If this results in the fact that the desired concentration of the treatment additive in the treatment liquid is still insufficient, it is possible to carry out a new replenishment and to determine by a further measurement whether this is sufficient. If necessary, the measurements may be repeated until the desired concentration of the particular treatment additive has been established. As a result, the desired concentration of the respective treatment additive can be set very accurately.
- the amount to be post-dosed can be based on the measured concentration of the treatment additive, in particular, although the amount of the treatment liquid is known. If it turns out that the concentration of the measured treatment additive in the treatment liquid is too low, a subsequent dosing of the respective treatment additive takes place. It is preferably provided to check thereafter by a further measurement whether the subsequent metering has led to the desired proportion or desired concentration of the treatment additive in the treatment liquid. This procedure ensures that the reuse of the treatment liquid for wet treatment, in particular for washing, equipping and / or rinsing the laundry, contains the intended concentration of the treatment additive in the treatment liquid.
- the concentration of the respective treatment additive in the final wash liquid and the rinse liquid changes until reuse for wet treatment of the subsequent Laundry costs no longer, so that after the removal of the rinsing liquid or the clear wash from the laundry can be particularly reliable determine whether the rinse liquid or the final wash liquid can be used to treat the next batch of laundry or at least one treatment additive must be added to the restore desired target concentration.
- finishing fluid is to be reused.
- the concentration of at least one treatment additive in the treatment liquid during a temporary storage thereof is determined.
- the treatment liquid with the at least one treatment additive to be measured remains in at least one storage container for some time. This time can be used, if necessary, to determine the concentration of the respective treatment additive in the treatment liquid to be used again in a number of measurements. Only when the required concentration of at least one treatment additive in the treatment liquid is attained by possibly required replenishment, is the treatment liquid for wet treatment of a subsequent laundry lot of the washing device, in particular a washing machine, supplied again.
- the proportion of treatment additives such as detergent substances or additives, disinfectant-active substances and additives and / or bleach-active substances or additives in the treatment liquid during operation of the washing device is determined.
- treatment additives are to be measured in the ongoing process, this can be done by individual sensors for the respective treatment additive.
- washing-active treatment additives for example, a tensiometer is used.
- bleach-active treatment additives an active chlorine sensor is particularly suitable.
- H 2 O 2 sensor is preferably provided for measuring disinfecting active treatment additives.
- At least one treatment additive in the ongoing process by a spectral analysis by, for example, at least one spectrometer.

- the chambers 15 may be the same size, but also different sizes.
- the continuous washing machine 10 shown here has four successive chambers 15, wherein a first chamber 15 forms the prewash zone 16, while the three subsequent chambers 15 form a final wash zone 17.
- the continuous washing machine 10 shown here has no rinsing chamber.
- the rinsing of the laundry takes place in the at least one behind the continuous washing machine 10 arranged laundry centrifuge 12 or other drainage device, such as a dewatering press.
- the continuous washing machine 10 allows a bath change in the first chamber 15 of the final wash zone 17, to which the second chamber 15 of the continuous washing machine 10 seen in the treatment direction 11 is assigned a water-impermeable, stationary outer drum 18, which serves to drain prewash liquid.
- the prewash liquid can also be discharged at the end of the prewash zone 16, ie in the first chamber 15 to form the prewashing zone 16.
- this (first) chamber 15 is associated with an outer drum 18. It is also conceivable to assign an outer drum 18 to one or more further chambers 15 of the final wash zone 17, in particular if the continuous washing machine 10 operates on the countercurrent principle or if equipment is still to take place in the continuous washing machine 10.
- the drum 13 has an at least partially liquid-permeable, for example perforated, drum shell.
- the laundry centrifuge 11 has a collecting tank 19, which may be formed, for example, by the base of the laundry centrifuge 11. Furthermore, two separate storage tanks 20, 21 are provided. Each storage tank 20, 21 is connected via a supply line 22 to the collection tank 19 of the laundry centrifuge 12. The supply line 22 is shut off before each storage tank 20, 21 by a separate valve 23.
- a drain line 24 leads to the first chamber 15 of the continuous washing machine 10, ie to the single chamber 15 of the prewash zone 16.
- the drain line 24 is led to a feed hopper 25 of the continuous washing machine 10 in front of the drum 13.
- a second discharge line 26 leads from the storage tank 20 to the first chamber 15 of the final wash zone 17, ie to the second chamber 15 of the continuous washing machine 10 shown here.
- each storage tank 20, 21 is associated with at least one sensor for measuring the treatment additive.
- each storage tank has three sensors 29, 30, 31 for measuring the concentration of different treatment additives in the treatment liquid.
- the sensor 29 may, for example, be a tensiometer for determining the concentration of washing-active substances in the treatment liquid.
- the sensor 30 may be formed as an active chlorine sensor. This disinfecting active substances of the treatment liquid can be determined.
- the sensor 31 may be formed as a so-called H 2 O 2 sensor. Hereby, the content of bleaching-active substances in the treatment liquid can be determined.
- the measurement can be made if it is a spectrometer. It can be assigned to each storage tank 20, 21 its own spectrometer. For reasons of cost, however, it is advisable to provide a single spectrometer, which is optionally supplied with treatment liquid from the storage tank 20 or 21, to measure the treatment liquid in the respective storage tank 20 or 21. With the spectrometer, the amount of treatment additives in the treatment liquid is preferably measured. At the same time, a plurality of treatment additives which can be determined by a spectrometer can be measured simultaneously, in particular surfactants, active chlorine, H 2 O 2 and peracetic acid.
- the laundry is first prewashed in the prewashing zone 16 of the continuous washing machine 10. Subsequently, in the final wash zone 17 of the continuous washing machine 10, a final wash of the laundry takes place. Before the final wash 17 at least a portion of the treatment liquid, namely Vorwaschcroftkeit, drained and directed into the drain in the first chamber 15 of the final wash zone.
- the treatment liquid namely Vorwaschcroftkeit
- the laundry with the entire clear wash liquor leaves the continuous washing machine 10 via a discharge chute 32.
- the laundry is then loaded into the at least one laundry centrifuge 12.
- the laundry centrifuge 12 first dehydrates the laundry coming from the continuous washing machine 10.
- the laundry is separated from the entire prewash, both from the free Fleet as well as the bound fleet, as far as they can be removed from the laundry by the laundry centrifuge 12 or a dewatering press.
- a maximum possible proportion of the bound liquor of the final wash liquid from the wash is separated from the laundry centrifuge 12, so that the wash contains only a small residual portion of the bonded liquor of the final wash liquor.
- the clear wash liquid removed from the laundry in the laundry centrifuge 12 initially passes into the collection tank 19 of the laundry centrifuge 12 and from there via the supply line 22 to the storage tank 20.
- the storage tank 20 therefore serves to hold all the final wash liquid removed from the laundry by the laundry centrifuge 12 has been.
- washing of the laundry takes place in the laundry centrifuge 12.
- the laundry in the laundry centrifuge 12 fresh water is added and then rinsed by preferably several successive dewatering the laundry.
- the laundry centrifuge 12 also removes the rinsing liquid from the laundry, again the free rinsing liquid and a large part of the bound rinsing liquid, namely as far as is possible with the laundry centrifuge 12.
- the remaining rinsing liquid is removed from the laundry during the subsequent drying.
- the entire rinsing liquid is first collected in the collection tank 19 under the laundry centrifuge 12 and then passed via the supply line 22 to the storage tank 21 for only the rinsing liquid.
- Both the rinse liquid and the final wash liquid are reused to wash the next batch of laundry in the continuous washing machine 10.
- the rinsing liquid and the final washing liquid are circulated between consecutive washing operations in the continuous washing machine 10. This is done during operation of the continuous washing machine 10 and the laundry centrifuge 12 because in the continuous washing machine 10 several laundry items are washed simultaneously by transferring the first laundry item to the final wash zone 17 after prewashing the first laundry item and the pre-wash zone 16 with a new, next batch of laundry items is loaded.
- the first washing station is in the laundry centrifuge 12
- the second laundry article is transferred to the final wash zone 17 and a third laundry load is flooded in the pre-wash zone 16.
- a part of the clear wash liquid from the storage tank 20 and the entire rinse liquid from the storage tank 21 are fed via the feed hopper 25 of the pre-wash zone 16 and are used to pre-wash the next batch of laundry.
- the remaining part of the final wash liquid from the storage tank 20 is fed via the supply line 26 to the beginning of the final wash zone 17 in order to at least partially replenish the drained off part of the pre-wash liquid.
- this part of the final wash liquid from the storage tank 20 is reused for clear washing.
- the amount and / or concentration of the respective treatment additive in the treatment liquid is continuously measured.
- the concentration of several treatment additives in the final wash liquid and the rinse liquid is measured "in situ". This measurement is carried out in the apparatus shown before re-supplying the clear wash liquid and the rinsing liquid to the continuous washing machine 10 in order to treat with the clear wash liquid and the rinsing liquid a next batch of laundry, preferably to wash.
- the treatment additives may be detergent-active substances, disinfectant-active substances and / or bleach-active substances.
- Suitable detergent substances are, for example, surfactants or other detergents or washing auxiliaries.
- disinfectant-active substance chlorine comes into consideration.
- Bleaching active substances may be active oxygen, peracetic acid or the like.
- wash-active substances, disinfectant-active substances and bleaching-active substances are measured "in situ" during the ongoing treatment process.
- the three sensors 29, 30 and 31 associated with each storage tank 20 and 21 serve this purpose.
- Each sensor 29, 30 and 31 measures another substance.
- the sensors are H 2 O 2 sensors, active chlorine sensors and / or tensiometers. The latter are used primarily for measuring washing-active substances.
- the H 2 O 2 sensor is used to measure bleach-active substances, while the Cl. Sensor measures disinfectant-active substances.
- a sensor with which different substances can be measured "in situ" simultaneously, preferably also with regard to their quantity.
- a spectrometer in particular a mass spectrometer.
- a single spectrometer measuring one or more substances in the treatment liquid in the storage tanks 20 and 21.
- a switchover is expediently carried out, in which the substances in the treatment liquid in the storage tank 20 or alternatively in the storage tank 21 are measured successively separately with the spectrometer, so that the amount of substances in the storage tank 20 and 21 is obtained separately.
- the spectrometer serves to determine washing-active substances, disinfectant-active substances and bleach-active substances preferably simultaneously in a measuring process during the ongoing treatment process.
- the measurement of the amount of surfactants, active chlorine, H 2 O 2 and peracetic acid in the treatment liquid is preferably carried out simultaneously in one measuring operation.
- the spectrometer is first "calibrated” by taking measurements with known substances, preferably several measurements with different amounts.
- the preferably graphical representations of the measurement results of the spectrometer are then compared with the graphical measurement results during the "in situ" measurement.
- a comparison is made with the graphical measurement results obtained during the "calibration".
- the presence and the amount of each substance to be measured, and preferably of all substances to be determined can then be determined.
- the concentration of the respective additive in the final wash and the rinse liquid is calculated, namely from the measured amount of treatment additive, which is set in relation to the known amount (volume) of the rinse and the clear wash liquid in the respective storage tank 20, 21.
- a subsequent dosing takes place.
- an appropriate amount of nachzudosierenden substance in the respective storage tank 20 or 21 and optionally mixed by an agitator in the storage tank 20, 21 with the clear wash liquid or the rinsing liquid is used.
- At least one subsequent measurement is used to determine whether the minimum concentration of the respective substance (treatment additive) has been reached after metered addition, or a nominal concentration has been exceeded or is within a desired concentration range. If it turns out that this is not the case, a corresponding replenishment takes place again and it is then determined again whether thereafter the desired concentration or a desired concentration range of the examined treatment additive is present in the final washing liquid and the rinsing liquid.
- the concentration of the treatment additive can be measured already in the supply line 22 or in at least one, preferably all drain lines 24, 26 and 27. Then, the sensors 29, 30 and 31 are arranged in the mentioned lines, namely in the number required to measure the desired treatment additives during operation of the continuous washing machine 10 and the laundry centrifuge 12. Then, not only the measurement of the concentration of the treatment additives in the final washing liquid or the rinsing liquid during the circulation of these liquids, but also the subsequent dosing. If, after the replenishment, a measurement of the resulting concentration is to take place, the supply line 22 and at least one outflow line 24, 26 and 27 are to be arranged further sensors behind the point of addition of treatment additives.
- the inventive method is also suitable for other than the described continuous washing machine, in particular continuous washing machines having a rinsing zone and / or a finishing zone.
- the inventive method is also suitable for household washing machines, washer extractors and other facilities for the wet treatment of laundry of any kind.
