Definitions
- the invention relates to a protective clothing for emergency services according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- combination strip which is a strip of fluorescent material with a retroreflective silver strip applied thereto.
- transfer reflective strips are known in which glass beads are mounted on a silver base. Similarly, stripes may be made from a fluorescent base material. Common to this strip is that a heat and pressure activatable adhesive film is provided to join these strips to the garment itself.
- a heat and pressure activatable adhesive film is provided to join these strips to the garment itself.
- Such strips are unfavorable in maintenance, since the cleaning properties and repair options are limited and after pasting no change is allowed.
- a significant disadvantage of these strips is the low or nonexistent breathability in the area of the glued strips.
- it is essential that the greatest possible breathability is given, since the task forces must perform physical heavy work under the most unfavorable conditions. If, due to legal regulations, a substantial part of the surface of the garment is provided with such signal strips, then the breathability of the entire garment is limited so that the functionality is significantly impaired.
- a garment is known in which an inner shell is separably connected to an outer shell.
- the outer shell is made of a fluorescent dyed fabric which is oleophobated.
- a jacket of this type is not flame resistant and can not be used in the fire service or limited.
- the WO 2006/128420 A discloses a protective garment with reflective tapes wherein perforation is provided to increase breathability. Similar solutions are in the WO 03/011064 A or the EP 0 917 888 A described. These solutions only represent a shift of the problem, because it is required by law to reflect or fluoresce a predetermined area. If a significant proportion of holes or perforations is now provided, the gross area of the applications must be correspondingly increased in order to comply with these regulations, which in turn leads to a corresponding impairment of the respiratory activity. Thus, no real solution of the problem is to be expected here.
- Object of the present invention is to avoid these disadvantages and to provide a solution that not only meets the legal requirements in terms of visibility and reflection behavior, but also provides maximum breathability and thus optimal comfort.
- the base strip is generally made of a yellow, flame retardant, fluorescent fabric which has high breathability and very good cleanability.
- the fabric is typically made of cotton / methacrylic or blended with aramid fibers to provide the mechanical and thermal properties required for firefighting operations. Nanotechnological equipment makes it possible to equip this fabric with dirt-repellent properties, which are also present after many washings. The textile character is thereby significantly improved. Bending and bending behavior improve particularly well.
- the retroreflective strip which is generally silver colored, can be sewn or glued to the base strip.
- gluing the base strip together with the retroreflective strips is inserted into a continuous press in which the strips are glued together by applying heat and pressure.
- the breathability is substantially improved, since the entire area of the visible ground strip is breathable. Repairs can be carried out without much effort. Also, the wearing behavior is significantly improved, since the so-sewn-up reflective strips can easily form wrinkles during movement.
- the reflective strip consisting of base strip and retroreflective strip, is sewn onto the base material. In this way, any impairment of breathability can be avoided.
- a particularly favorable embodiment variant of the invention provides that the edges of the base strip are hammered. In this way, on the one hand fraying of the edges is avoided and it is possible to attach the seam with which the reflective strip is sewn onto the base material in the region of the embossed edge. As a result, a particularly good fastening can be achieved and the risk of chafing through the seam can be largely avoided.
- the protective clothing of Fig. 1 consists of a breathable base material 1 with a reflective strip 6 attached thereto, consisting of a base strip 2 made of a highly inflammable, flammable fluorescent fabric on which a retroreflective strip 4 is applied.
- the retroreflective strip 4 is glued to the base strip 2.
- the edges 3 of the base strip 2 are after taken below and schematically indicated with 5 seams are arranged in the region of these embossed edges 3.
- Fig. 2 The variant of Fig. 2 is different from that of Fig. 1 in that the base strip 2 consists of a strip material which has non-fraying edges. It therefore the edges are not taken.
- the seams with which the base strip 2 is fastened on the base material 1 are designated by 5a, while further seams which hold the retroreflective strip 4 are indicated by 5b.
- the present invention makes it possible to present a protective garment for emergency personnel, which has the highest breathability and at the same time robust and durable.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a protective clothing for emergency services according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
Emergency personnel, such as fire brigades or the like, wear protective clothing whose primary function is to protect the body from the effects of heat or dangerous media. Another object of the protective clothing is to ensure good visibility of the person concerned in order to maintain the visual contact with the person concerned even under the most difficult conditions. Therefore, there are legal regulations on the application of special markings on the protective clothing to ensure this. These markers are usually made of two different materials, on the one hand retroreflective materials, which are usually made in silver, and fluorescent applications, which are usually carried out yellow. But there are also red and orange materials in use.
The most common form of arrangement of the two materials is that of a so-called combination strip, which is a strip of fluorescent material with a retroreflective silver strip applied thereto.
There are so-called transfer reflective strips are known in which glass beads are mounted on a silver base. Similarly, stripes may be made from a fluorescent base material. Common to this strip is that a heat and pressure activatable adhesive film is provided to join these strips to the garment itself. Such strips are unfavorable in maintenance, since the cleaning properties and repair options are limited and after pasting no change is allowed. However, a significant disadvantage of these strips is the low or nonexistent breathability in the area of the glued strips. However, especially for work wear, it is essential that the greatest possible breathability is given, since the task forces must perform physical heavy work under the most unfavorable conditions. If, due to legal regulations, a substantial part of the surface of the garment is provided with such signal strips, then the breathability of the entire garment is limited so that the functionality is significantly impaired.
Alternatively, there is known an absorbable reflective material which can be formed both retroreflective and fluorescent or combined. Also for this material, the problem is that the breathability is impaired. Other disadvantages of this strip are lack of cleaning properties and the fact that no textile handle is given.

Object of the present invention is to avoid these disadvantages and to provide a solution that not only meets the legal requirements in terms of visibility and reflection behavior, but also provides maximum breathability and thus optimal comfort.
These objects are achieved by the embodiment according to claim 1.
The base strip is generally made of a yellow, flame retardant, fluorescent fabric which has high breathability and very good cleanability. The fabric is typically made of cotton / methacrylic or blended with aramid fibers to provide the mechanical and thermal properties required for firefighting operations. Nanotechnological equipment makes it possible to equip this fabric with dirt-repellent properties, which are also present after many washings. The textile character is thereby significantly improved. Bending and bending behavior improve particularly well.
The retroreflective strip, which is generally silver colored, can be sewn or glued to the base strip. When gluing the base strip together with the retroreflective strips is inserted into a continuous press in which the strips are glued together by applying heat and pressure.
In the solution according to the invention, the breathability is substantially improved, since the entire area of the visible ground strip is breathable. Repairs can be carried out without much effort. Also, the wearing behavior is significantly improved, since the so-sewn-up reflective strips can easily form wrinkles during movement.
It is particularly advantageous if the reflective strip, consisting of base strip and retroreflective strip, is sewn onto the base material. In this way, any impairment of breathability can be avoided.
A particularly favorable embodiment variant of the invention provides that the edges of the base strip are hammered. In this way, on the one hand fraying of the edges is avoided and it is possible to attach the seam with which the reflective strip is sewn onto the base material in the region of the embossed edge. As a result, a particularly good fastening can be achieved and the risk of chafing through the seam can be largely avoided.
