Diese Führungsschienen können zum einen nach unten offen sein, sodass die Frontscheibe, um in die Reinigungsposition zu gelangen, nach unten teilweise aus ihnen herausfährt. Dies hat den Vorteil, dass die Führungsschienen gegenüber herkömmlichen Sicherheitswerkbänken nicht verlängert werden müssen. Hierbei wird der obere Teil der Frontscheibe in eine Position unterhalb seiner geschlossenen Endlage verschoben, während der untere Teil der Frontscheibe in seiner Position der geschlossenen Endlage verbleibt. Hierbei wird der obere Teil zweckmäßig hinter den unteren Teil der Frontscheibe bewegt.
