Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum elektrochemischen Polieren von Oberflächen aus Kobalt oder Kobaltlegierungen. Dabei wird ein Elektrolyt verwendet, der Glykolsäure und mindestens eine Alkansulfonsäure mit einem Alkylrest, der 1 bis 3 Kohlenstoffatome aufweist, umfasst. Dieser Elektrolyt ist ebenfalls ein Aspekt der vorliegenden Erfindung. In einer Ausführungsform umfasst die mindestens eine Alkansulfonsäure Methansulfonsäure. Der Elektrolyt und das Verfahren unter Verwendung dieses Elektrolyten eignen sich besonders für Oberflächen aus Kobalt oder Kobaltlegierungen, darunter Kobalt-Chrom-Legierungen wie etwa Stellit.
