Definitions
- the invention firstly relates to a method for detecting the forward and backward movement of an electric motor driven brush having intent of a vacuum cleaner, in particular household vacuum cleaner, according to the features of the preamble of claim 1.
- the invention has the object to provide a method of the type in question, which allows the best possible adaptation to the respective conditions, in particular floor coverings.
- the reference motor current is a motor current averaged from a continuous measurement.
- the reference motor current is then adjusted to the prevailing conditions, such as the carpet pile height, which affects the resistance on the brush.
- the brush of the vacuum cleaner or of the attachment connected to the vacuum cleaner is driven about a rotational axis extending transversely to the direction of movement.
- the drive direction of the brush is usually selected in the feed direction of the vacuum cleaner, so that the mechanically dissolved dirt with respect to a conventional feed movement of the device is thrown back towards the arranged there, vacuum-loaded suction mouth.
- the current consumption of the brush is lower in the forward movement of the device than in a return movement of the device, in which the rotational movement of the brush acts counter to the direction of movement of the device.
- the rotating brush acts here in conjunction with the return movement of the device as a resistance, which is reflected in increased power consumption. If the determined motor current is lower than the reference motor current, then the above-described rotational movement of the electric motor-driven brush is a forward movement of the device. If the determined motor current is greater than the reference motor current, it is a return movement. The standstill of the vacuum cleaner or connected to this, the electric motor driven brush having attachment is by means of of the method detectable. In this state, the determined motor current is approximately equal to the reference motor current.
- the determined motor current is averaged with the aid of a low-pass filter, the time constant of the low-pass filter being large compared with a typical forward and reverse time of the header, eg. 1 to 5 sec., Preferably about 3 sec.
- the motor current is more preferably determined by means of a shunt resistor. At this shunt resistor, a voltage drops, which is proportional to the motor current.
- the invention relates to a vacuum cleaner according to the features of the preamble of claim 4.
- the invention has the object to provide a vacuum cleaner of the type mentioned, which allows an advantageous detection of the direction of movement of the brush.
- the measuring device detects the already occurring motor current during the operation of the device and compares it with the reference motor current.
- the reference motor current In a conventional rotational movement of the driven brush in the feed direction of the device compared to the reference motor current detected lower motor current corresponds to the forward movement of the vacuum cleaner or the attachment, since the rotating brush acts less than resistance, but even movement supportive in this direction. If, on the other hand, the detected motor current is greater than the reference motor current, then the return movement of the device can be summed up from this. The case here against the device movement direction rotating brush acts accordingly as a resistor, which leads to an increased power consumption.
- the proposed measuring device even a standstill of the device or the vacuum cleaner can be detected by the proposed measuring device. This is the case when the detected motor current is approximately equal to the reference motor current.
- a shunt resistor is preferably provided, at which a voltage drops, which is proportional to the motor current.
- the averaging circuit provided, which has a low pass. Accordingly, the reference motor current to be compared with the detected motor current is adapted to the prevailing conditions during the suction processing, such as carpet pile height, etc.
- the time constant of the low-pass filter is set large compared with a typical forward and return time of the vacuum cleaner or of the attachment, in particular between 1 to 5 seconds, preferably 3 seconds.
- a vacuum cleaner 1 is shown in the form of a stalk-guided household vacuum cleaner to which a header 2 is connected both electrically and fluidly.
- the latter has a roller-shaped brush 3, the axis of rotation x is aligned parallel to the front edge edge of the attachment 2 and thus transversely to a conventional travel direction r, which corresponds to a forward movement of the device 2.
- the roller-shaped brush 3 has radially protruding bristle tufts 4, which project beyond the bottom of the device 5 on the underside, for mechanical brushing of the carpet to be cleaned 6.
- the brush 3 is driven by an electric motor.
- the relevant electric motor 7 is in the FIGS. 2 and 3 only shown schematically.
- the power transmission takes place via a belt drive 8, not shown.
- the electric motor 7 is offset via the belt drive 8, the brush 3 in a rotational movement about the axis x with a rotational direction d, which is chosen so that during conventional advancement of the attachment 2 in the direction of travel r a supporting thrust effect is reached.
- a direction of rotation of the brush 3 is selected so that by friction with the carpet 6, a component of movement in the direction of travel r is reached.
- a direction of rotation of the brush 3 is selected counterclockwise.
- This motor current is used to detect the forward and backward movement of the attachment 2.
- a measuring device such as, for example, based on a first embodiment in Fig. 5 provided, which measures the motor current of the brush 3 driving electric motor 7 and compares this determined motor current value with a reference motor current value.
- the reference motor current I RM is a motor current averaged from a continuous measurement, an averaging circuit having a low-pass filter 11 being provided to provide the reference motor current I RM .
- the time constant of the low-pass filter 11 is sized large compared to a typical forward and return time of the attachment 2, so for example. With three seconds. Within this time, the header 2 has been moved at least once in the forward direction r and once in the return direction r 'in the rule.
- the value I RM averaged therefrom is currently adapted to the conditions, for example, to the frictional resistance built up between the bristles 4 of the brush 3 and the carpet 6, which, in turn, depends on the carpet pile height, among other things.
- the relevant motor current I M is determined by means of a shunt resistor 12, at which a voltage drops, which is proportional to the motor current.
- the instantaneous motor current I M is compared by means of a comparator 13 with the averaged motor current I RM . If the instantaneous motor current I M is less than the averaged motor current I R , this is to be deduced from a movement of the attachment 2 in the usual forward direction r. If, however, the instantaneous motor current I M is greater than the average motor current I RM , this can be deduced from a displacement of the attachment 2 in the return direction r '. Even the stoppage of the attachment 2 can be detected by means of this measuring device 10, since in this case the instantaneous motor current I M corresponds approximately to the averaged motor current I RM .
- FIG. 6 an alternative circuit arrangement is shown.
- the signal processing takes place digitally by means of a microprocessor 14 after the current signal has been digitized with the aid of an analog-to-digital converter 15.
- the obtained movement direction signal can be used to control the brush motor 7 and / or the fan motor in the vacuum cleaner and / or to control secondary air openings in the suction mouth 9 of the header 2 limiting area.
- the motion is detected electrically / electronically without the use of particular wear-prone mechanical or optical / acoustic sensor elements or the like.

Description
- Fig. 1
- in perspektivischer Darstellung einen stielgeführten Haushalts- staubsauger mit einem, eine nicht näher dargestellte elektromoto- risch angetriebene Bürste aufweisenden Vorsatzgerätes;
- Fig. 2
- in einer partiell geschnittenen Schema-Seitenansicht das Vorsatz- gerät während des Saugbetriebs, bei Vorverlagerung desselben;
- Fig. 3
- eine idealisierte Darstellung eines Motorstromaufnahme- Diagrammes;
- Fig. 5
- die in analoger Schaltung aufgebaute Messeinrichtung;
- Fig. 6
- In
- In
