Additionally, the vibration head 161, particularly the active surface 162 thereof, is heated by the Peltier element 164. Thereby, this particular embodiment enables the application of three different stimuli to the skin to be epilated. Two stimuli, namely heat and vibration, are applied by the heated vibration head 161 before the epilating process takes place. This allows for significant pain masking of the skin region to be epilated before the pain receptors in the skin are excited.
  • the active surface 18 of the cooling member 16 adds the third pain masking stimulus: cold.
  • the vibration head 161 can also be cooled with a different Peltier element 164, or cold generated by the Peltier element 164 is used for this purpose.
  • an epilating apparatus 10 comprising means for extracting hairs from skin in the form of an epilating member 12 and first and second means for reducing pain in the form of a cylindrical massage/vibration member 178 which, besides applying massages/vibrations, can also transfer heat or cold to the skin.

  • the cylindrical massage/vibration member 178 comprises small pin-like protrusions 176 and/or ribs for enhancing vibration. It is possible that the massage/vibration member 178 can be cooled for providing the cold stimulus to the skin.
  • the massage/vibration member 178 can be brought to an increased temperature for providing the heat stimulus to the skin to be epilated.
  • the detached massage/vibration element 178 can, for this purpose, be placed in a microwave, an oven, heated water or the like. While in Figure 9A there is shown an epilating apparatus comprising only one massage/vibration member 178, it is also possible to provide two or more of such members, arranged on one or both sides of the epilating member 12. In Figures 9B - 9D , several possible arrangements are shown.

Claims (16)

  1. Epiliergerät (10) mit Mitteln (12) zum Auszupfen von Haaren aus der Haut sowie Mitteln (16, 20, 36, 56, 60, 76, 80, 104, 128, 136, 144, 160, 164, 178) zur Schmerzminderung durch Anwenden von Reizen auf der Haut, wobei die Mittel zur Schmerzminderung Mittel umfassen, um eine Kombination aus mindestens zwei der Reize Wärme, Kälte und Vibration auf der Haut anzuwenden, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Mittel zum Anwenden der Kombination aus Reizen und die Mittel zum Auszupfen von Haaren in einer seriellen Konfiguration relativ zu einer bevorzugten Richtung der Bewegung während des Betriebs des Epiliergeräts miteinander verbunden sind.
  2. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Mittel zur Schmerzreduzierung erste Mittel (16, 36, 56, 76, 136) zum Anwenden von mindestens einem der Reihe sowie zweite Mittel (20, 60, 80, 104, 128, 144, 160) zum Anwenden von zumindest einem weiteren der Reihe umfassen.
  3. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die ersten Mittel (16, 36, 56, 76, 136) und die zweiten Mittel (20, 60, 80, 104, 128, 144, 160) in einer seriellen Konfiguration relativ zu einer bevorzugten Richtung der Bewegung während des Betriebs des Epiliergeräts (10) angeordnet sind.
  4. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die ersten Mittel (16, 36, 56, 76, 136) und die zweiten Mittel (20, 60, 80, 104, 128, 144, 160) zumindest zum Teil in einer parallelen Konfiguration relativ zu den Auszupfmitteln (12) angeordnet sind.
  5. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Auszupfmittel (12), die ersten Mittel (136) und die zweiten Mittel (144) jeweils eine Wirkfläche (14, 138, 146) umfassen, wobei die Form der Wirkfläche (138) der ersten Mittel (136) und/oder die Form der Wirkfläche (146) der zweiten Mittel (144) zumindest zum Teil an die Form der Wirkfläche (14) der Auszupfmittel (12) adaptiert sind/ist.
  6. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest die ersten Mittel (160) und die zweiten Mittel (164) vor den Auszupfmitteln (12) relativ zu einer bevorzugten Richtung der Bewegung der Auszupfmittel (12) während des Betriebs angeordnet sind.
  7. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest die ersten Mittel (36, 56, 76) und die zweiten Mittel (60, 80) hinter den Auszupfmitteln (12) relativ zu einer bevorzugten Richtung der Bewegung der Auszupfmittel (12) während des Betriebs angeordnet sind.
  8. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest die ersten Mittel (16, 136) hinter den Auszupfmitteln (12) und zumindest die zweiten Mittel (20, 104, 126, 144, 160) vor den Auszupfmitteln (12) relativ zu einer bevorzugten Richtung der Bewegung der Auszupfmittel (12) während des Betriebs angeordnet sind.
  9. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest eine Wirkfläche (58) der ersten Mittel (56) und eine Wirkfläche (62) der zweiten Mittel (60) zumindest zum Teil in komplementärer Weise einander entsprechen.
  10. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest eine Wirkfläche (38, 162) der ersten Mittel (36, 160) und eine Wirkfläche (38, 162) der zweiten Mittel (36, 164) miteinander koinzidieren.
  11. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest die ersten Mittel (36, 160) und die zweiten Mittel (36, 164) so ausgebildet sind, dass sie eine Hautpartie synchron kontaktieren.
  12. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Mittel (16, 104, 128, 138, 144, 164, 178) zur Schmerzminderung die Reize Kälte und Wärme anwenden.
  13. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Mittel (16, 20, 36, 56, 60, 76, 80, 160, 178) zur Schmerzminderung die Reize Kälte und Vibration anwenden.
  14. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Mittel (160, 164, 178) zur Schmerzminderung die Reize Wärme und Vibration anwenden.
  15. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Mittel (76) zur Schmerzminderung von dem Epiliergerät abnehmbar sind.
  16. Epiliergerät (10) nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Mittel (128, 178) zur Schmerzminderung ein zylindrisches Element (128, 178) zum Kontaktieren einer Hautpartie umfassen, wobei die Achse des Zylinders senkrecht zu einer bevorzugten Richtung der Bewegung während des Betriebs verläuft.
