Definitions

  • the invention relates to a ski binding, in particular touring, telemark or cross-country binding for fixing a ski boot comprising a shaft and a sole, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a ski binding is from the date of the applicant WO 03/101555 A1 known.
  • This known construction is characterized in that the front holding element, which may be formed, for example, in the manner of a toe, is mounted relative to the front and rear holding element comprehensive assembly about a transversely to the sole longitudinal direction approximately parallel to the sole tread extending axis pivotally.
  • the front retaining element is thus formed quasi "dynamic". The consequence of this is that the front retaining element barely resist when lifting the shoe heel. This is achieved by the fact that the front retaining element can follow the movement of the front sole end relative to the rear retaining element or the structural unit comprising both retaining elements.
  • the front sole end is therefore not forcibly pressed down by the front retaining element or toe iron on the top of the binding or on the ski deck so that the front sole end always extends parallel to the ski deck, regardless of raising the shoe heel.
  • ski binding is off US-A-4,322,090 known and disclosed with a structural unit which acts against a spring.
  • the present invention has for its object to further improve the known construction with respect to the aforementioned "dynamics”, and in particular also to take measures with which the binding in a simple manner from a "cross-country position" in a "telemark position” and vice versa can be brought, in the former position of the shoe heel should be freely raised substantially unhindered, while in the latter position the lifting of the shoe heel by the elasticity of the shoe sole on the one hand and the counteraction of the front and rear support member effective clamping device on the other hand should be limited.
  • the heel is in the "telemark position” only slightly raised, in such a way that the skier can exercise the so-called "telemark style".
  • front sole end associated support means on which rests the front sole end is not an integral part of the front and rear support member comprehensive assembly, but relative to this pivotable about a horizontal transverse axis and as needed , namely for the so-called "telemark position" can be locked.
  • the support of the front sole end in "cross-country position" of the binding is dynamic, especially if the aforementioned "toe iron” or front support member about a horizontal transverse axis, in particular the same horizontal transverse axis is mounted pivotably.
  • the mentioned “dynamics” is further promoted by the fact that said sole support means relative to the front and rear support member comprehensive or arranged between these two holding elements assembly or connecting part is pivotable, so that an adaptation to the curvature of the shoe front sole when lifting of the heel.
  • the mentioned unit and sole support device are aligned according to the curvature of the front sole of the shoe when lifting the shoe heel. If then also the front holding element or toe iron is still pivotable about a horizontal transverse axis independent of the aforementioned components, the front end of the shoe when lifting the shoe heel is kept substantially free of constraint.
  • the support means associated with the front sole end comprises a support plate or bar associated with the front sole end.
  • the assembly comprising the front and rear retaining element or arranged between these two retaining elements can be designed in the form of a strip, hollow, in particular tubular, U or the like profile.
  • the above-mentioned structural unit can alternatively be rigid or elastically bendable in the vertical plane.
  • an even better adaptation of the support of the front sole to the bulge of the same when lifting the shoe heel is achieved, in particular when the front sole of the shoe is relatively soft.
  • the cross-country skier then gets the feeling that he is not only gliding over the snow, but at the same time "walking".
  • the support of the front sole gives the cross-country skier the feeling that he is rolling on the ground.
  • each of these three components a separate pivot axis, or to assign only two of these three components a common pivot axis.
  • the simplest embodiment, however, is the former with only a single common pivot axis.
  • the front and / or rear retaining element allows lateral swinging or disengagement of the shoe from the binding.
  • This measure should also be regarded as an invention independently of the mentioned main aspect of the present invention.
  • the latter safety measures should thus also apply to bindings which have only the features of the preamble of claim 1.
  • a particularly preferred embodiment is characterized in that the rear retaining element comprises two each about an upright pivotally mounted, the sole paragraph over and over reaching bracket, in particular in plan view about L-shaped headband, respectively against the action of an elastic element, in particular torsion spring -Elements are pivotally on exposure to a predetermined torque on the shoe to the outside.
  • the rear retaining element as a whole is pivotable about an upright axis, to allow a lateral disengagement of the shoe around the front retaining element as soon as a predetermined lateral torque acts on the shoe.
  • the binding formed according to the invention is preferably mounted on a carriage, in particular U-profile-like carriage, which is mounted on the ski, in particular on a mounted on the ski guide plate and longitudinally displaceable at discrete locations.
  • a simple mounting of the binding when purchasing a corresponding ski is possible either by the seller or the user.
  • the guide or mounting plate can be extremely thin-walled and thus highly flexible, so that the bending of the ski or the so-called flex is not hindered by the mounting plate.
  • the guide or mounting plate is made an extremely thin-walled plastic profile whose modulus of elasticity is equal to or less than or equal to the modulus of elasticity of the ski deck surface.
  • the mounting and guide plate is adhered to the ski surface over a large area.
  • the thickness of the mounting or guide plate is about 0.5 mm to a maximum of 1.5 mm, preferably about 1.0 mm.
  • ski binding can be used on the one hand as touring or cross-country binding and on the other hand as a telemark binding. It is identified by the reference numeral 10.
  • this ski binding is used to define a boot and a sole ski boot.
  • This ski boot is not shown in detail. Only in the FIGS. 8 and 9 the contour of a front sole 11 of a ski boot is shown, which is clamped between a front retaining element 12 and a rear retaining element 13. The corresponding clamping effect is indicated by the arrow 14.
  • FIGS. 8 and 9 described below.
  • FIGS. 1 to 7 also includes a front support member 12 and rear support member 13, between which, for example, the front sole of a ski boot can be clamped, against the action of two arranged respectively within a spring housing 15 compression springs, with the rear support member 13 on the one hand and a tensioning cable 16 on the other hand are operatively connected, wherein the tensioning cable 16 is guided around a front deflecting block 17.
  • This deflection block 17 is displaceably mounted within the binding housing 18 in binding or longitudinal direction of the ski, wherein the displacement of the Umlenkblocks 17 is effected by a pivotable about a horizontal transverse axis actuating lever 19.
  • an actuating cam 20 is arranged between the actuating lever 19 and the Umlenkblock 17 between the actuating lever 19 and the Umlenkblock 17 .
  • This actuating cam 20 is pivotably mounted on the actuating lever 19 about a horizontal transverse axis 21. In the closed position of the binding according to Fig. 3 this transverse axis 21 is below the connecting line between the pivot axis 22 of the actuating lever 19 and the point of application 23 of the actuating cam 20 on Umlenkblock 17. In this "over-center position" of the actuating lever 19 is secured in the closed position.
  • the transverse axis 21 significantly above the connecting line between the pivot axis 22 and the point of application 23rd
  • Fig. 5a shows the binding 10 in the open position, that is shifted with the rear support member 13 in the direction of the arrow 27 to the rear, due to the compression spring 25 within the assembly 26 which is disposed between the front and rear support member and these two holding elements also includes.
  • the movement of the rear support member 13 to the rear in the direction of arrow 27 only by movement of the actuating lever 19 in the open position accordingly Fig. 5a permits; because thereby it is possible that the Umlenkblock 17 together with the tensioning cable 16 due to the arranged in the spring housings 15 spring elements move backwards.
  • the spring members disposed in the spring housings 15 serve as a kind of "flexor", i. support the return movement of the assembly 26 with the heel raised to the ski out.
  • the spring elements arranged in the spring housings 15 compensate a deflection of the assembly 26, provided that it is designed to be flexible in bending.
  • the construction unit 26 which has already been mentioned several times, has a plate-shaped design, namely for supporting the front sole of a ski boot, with the exception of the front sole end thereof. This is supported separately by a relative to the unit 26 pivotally mounted sole support means 28.
  • the associated pivot axis extends horizontally and transversely to the binding or ski longitudinal direction. It is identified by the reference numeral 29.
  • To this pivot axis 29 and the assembly 26 is pivotally mounted, and preferably relative to the front sole end associated support means 28.
  • the front support member 12 is preferably pivotally mounted about this pivot axis, which in a conventional manner as a the front Sole end overarching bow or in the manner of a "toe" is formed.
  • the front sole end associated sole support means 28 which is web-like in the illustrated embodiment, by a separate locking element if necessary lockable such that a pivoting about the pivot axis 29 is blocked (see Fig. 3 ).
  • the front end of the sole support means 28 is associated with a locking bar 30, which by an actuating lever 31 is slidable to a position below the front end of the sole support means 28, until it comes into abutment with the underside of the front end of the support means 28.
  • the actuating lever 31 is raised according to the FIGS.
  • the sole support 28 associated with the front sole end is unlocked so that it can pivot about the axis 29.
  • the assembly 26 is released for pivoting about the axis 29.
  • the binding In this unlocking position of the locking bolt 30, the binding is in so-called “cross-country position” while Fig. 3 the binding in so-called “telemark position” shows.
  • the actuating lever 31 comprises a cam 32 which engages in a complementary recess 33 of the locking bolt 30, so that by pivoting the actuating lever 31 about a horizontal transverse axis, in the present case pivot axis 22, a corresponding displacement of the locking bolt 30 from its release position corresponding Fig. 5a, 5b in the blocking position accordingly Fig. 3 and vice versa.
  • the above description and the representation in the Figures 3 . 5a and 5b can be seen that the two actuating levers 19 and 31 have a common pivot axis, namely the pivot axis 22.
  • the sole support means is assigned only to the front sole end. Accordingly, the front sole end between the front support member 12 on the one hand and the mentioned sole support means 28 on the other hand fitted, that is held between these two elements and supported upwards and downwards.
  • the lateral support of the front sole end is also carried out by the front retaining element 12, which is formed in the manner of a toe iron (see also Fig. 2 ).
  • front support member 12 and the sole support means 28 are each mounted together, so not independent of each other, about the pivot axis 29 pivotally.
  • these two components are additionally pivotable relative to each other. In any case, a relative pivotability between the assembly 26 on the one hand and front support member 12 and sole support means 28 on the other hand essential.
  • FIG. 4 shows in longitudinal section the binding 10 in the closed position and raised heel.
  • the sole support device 28 associated with the front sole end is unlocked and thus pivotable about the pivot axis 29 as well as the front retaining element 12 and the assembly 26 comprising the front retaining element 12 and the rear retaining element 13.
  • the Fig. 4 leaves as well as the Fig. 1 recognize very well that the described binding 10 is mounted on a carriage 34 with two side cheeks 35. These two side cheeks 35 are within corresponding, downwardly extending side cheeks 36 of the assembly 26 (see Fig. 1 ). As a result, an optimal lateral stability of the assembly 26 is obtained relative to the carriage 34 and thus for connection to the ski.
  • Fig. 6 the carriage 34 is again shown separately in cross section.
  • the carriage 34 is thus formed as a kind of U-profile.
  • the carriage 34 is mounted longitudinally displaceable on a mounted on the ski not shown here mounting and guide plate 37 and fixed at discrete locations 38. These discrete points 38 are defined by longitudinally spaced holes in the mounting and guide plate 37, in which a fixing pin 39 engages (see Fig. 5a and Fig. 5b ).
  • the two actuating levers 19, 31 can each be rectified - as in the illustrated embodiment - or opposite pivoting in clamping or locking position. They are otherwise designed so that they do not collide with each other.
  • both operating levers are designed as U-shaped bracket, wherein in the free area between the two legs upon movement of the actuating lever 19, 31 in the closing or locking position, the actuating cam 20 can dip, as the FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 reveal.
  • the embodiment according to the FIGS. 8 and 9 pointed.
  • This embodiment differs from the above-described embodiment only in that the rear retaining element 13 comprises two each about an upright axis 40 pivotally mounted, a rearwardly projecting sole projection 41 and cross-over bracket, namely in plan view about L-shaped headband 42, the each against the action of an elastic element, in particular Torsionsfederelements, upon application of a predetermined lateral torque "M" on the shoe are outwardly pivotable (see lower headband 42 in Fig. 9 ).
