Description

The invention relates to a level crossing with a road surface accessible by traffic or walk over one or more railway tracks, which is formed of track covering elements, which are arranged at rail level, such as in EP 1 225 279 A described.

In the case of known level crossings of the aforementioned type, there is no clearly visible marking of the side edges of the road traffic area, and this appears to be a significant shortcoming in view of the danger potential that exists even at level crossings. Even at illuminated level crossings, the side edges of a track covering are often difficult to see at night and it is the recognizability of the side edges of a track covering at level crossings, which are crossed by road traffic areas obliquely, already affected by this oblique course and all the more so if it is a multi-track railroad crossing is.

It is an object of the present invention to provide for use in such level crossings certain track covering elements, which carry a particularly easily recognizable at night marker, the arrangement of a plurality of such track covering elements on a side edge of a railroad or the track crossing road surface from the perspective of vehicle drivers or pedestrians is readily understood as to be observed limitation of such a road traffic area.

The level crossing according to the invention of the initially mentioned kind is characterized in that track cover elements are arranged on the side edges of the road traffic surface crossing one or more railway tracks, which have light marking elements on their top surface forming the road traffic surface, which on each of these track covering elements is an elongated, triangular or quadrangular light marking surface form, which lies on the upper side surface of these track covering elements, wherein the long side of the triangular shape or a long diagonal of the quadrangular shape extends in the transverse direction of the respective railway track. It is considered in quadrangular shape in particular diamond shape into consideration. Through this training, the above-mentioned objective can be met in a structurally simple way well. Due to the elongated design of provided on the track covering elements Leuchtmarkierungsflächen these Leuchtmarkierungsflächen are well, even if especially at night, well visible when viewed at a small angle to the road surface, as from the perspective of drivers of passenger cars and from the perspective of pedestrians is the case. Due to the triangular shape or diamond shape of the luminous marking surfaces provided on track covering elements and due to the special orientation of these luminous marking surfaces such that the long side of the triangular shape or the long diagonal of the diamond shape runs in the transverse direction of the respective railway track, it can be achieved that in the case of a number of luminous marking surfaces are located on track covering elements which are successively arranged on one side edge of a road traffic surface crossing one or more railway tracks, side edges of these light marking surfaces are approximately aligned with each other, thereby giving a viewer of such a series of consecutive light marking surfaces enhanced perception, that these reflection surfaces together embody a boundary line. At the same time, the long sides of the triangular shape or the long diagonals of the rhombic shape of the illuminated marking areas are aligned with each other at approximately perpendicular to the track longitudinal direction and it can on the other hand be achieved in the longitudinal direction of the track by crossing the railway tracks crossing the railway tracks by suitable displacement of the luminous marking surfaces are that shorter sides of the triangular shape or sides of the diamond shape of Leuchtmarkierungsflächen, which are arranged sequentially following a side edge of the road traffic area, approximately aligned with each other.

In the interests of good visibility of the Leuchtmarkierungsflächen even in conditions disturbing the visibility, such as, for example, by slight contamination of Leuchtmarkierungsflächen, by light sources of oncoming vehicles, by fog, etc. result, it is advantageously provided that the length of the long side of the triangular shape or the long diagonal of the diamond shape of the Leuchtmarkierungsfläche is at least 200 mm.

Likewise, in the interests of good visibility of the Leuchtmarkierungsflächen and also for achieving an escape of edges of successively arranged Leuchtmarkierungsflächen with obliquely to the track longitudinal direction of train tracks running road surfaces, it is advantageous if the triangular shaped Leuchtmarkierungsflächen the perpendicular to the long side of the triangular shape measured extension of the Leuchtmarkierungsflächen 25% is up to 50% of the length of the long side.

It is structurally advantageous in the construction of level crossings constructed according to the invention if, in the case of a triangular formation of the luminous marking areas, the long side of the triangular shape lies at the edge of the respective substantially rectangular track covering element. This configuration can also be advantageously used when diamond-shaped luminous marking surfaces are to be provided, wherein two track elements provided with triangular luminous marking surfaces are arranged in pairs in pairs and several pairs of track-covering elements each provided with a triangular luminous marking surface are arranged with their edge sections running on the luminous marking surfaces, so that the two triangular luminous marking surfaces together form a diamond-shaped luminous marking surface.

In the case of diamond-shaped luminous marking surfaces, it is advantageous if the extent of the luminous marking surfaces measured at right angles to the long diagonal of the diamond shape is 50% to 90% of the length of the long diagonal.

Further, it is advantageous in rhombic shape of the Leuchtmarkierungsflächen when they are arranged in the middle of each substantially rectangular track covering elements.

The track covering elements for a railroad crossing formed according to the invention are preferably made of a composite material formed of particulate material and binder and the Leuchtmarkierungselemente are embedded on the top surface forming these track covering elements in the composite material.

The light-marking elements, the track covering elements according to the invention formed railroad crossings, are advantageously designed as reflectors, which form under the influence of incident external light, which may come in particular from vehicle headlights, a sheet-shaped luminous marking. Such a design of the Leuchtmarkierungselemente is structurally simple to implement, it being provided according to a preferred embodiment that these reflectors from a plurality of reflection bodies, which are in particular reflective balls, are composed. A further improvement in the visibility of the luminous marking elements is achievable by the provision of a plurality of punctiform luminous light sources, preferably LED elements, in the luminous marking elements. The Leuchtmarkierungselemente can ever be constructed only with a plurality of such punctiform luminous light sources or better with such punctiform luminous light sources and with a plurality of reflective elements, in particular reflective spheres. It is also possible to form the optical structure of punctiform luminous light sources, in particular LED elements, to the effect that these light sources themselves are effective as reflectors. If reflectors are arranged in the luminous marking elements in addition to light sources, this offers the advantage that a marking function is maintained even in the event of a power failure. In the formation of the light-emitting elements with light sources, it is preferably provided that a large part of their light is radiated in the direction of the course of the road traffic surface at an angle of less than 45 ° to the road traffic surface. The light sources can be particularly well seen by drivers of vehicles that move in the direction of the course of the road surface, but also by looking in this direction pedestrians. Another embodiment provides that the punctiform luminous light sources are diffused light sources. This offers the advantage that the mark formed by these light sources can be seen well from all sides and the manipulation required for the installation of the light sources is very simple, but requires a higher amount of electrical energy than the above-mentioned directional radiation.

The embodiment of a level crossing shown in FIG. 1 has in the area of a railway track indicated by rails 2, 3 a road traffic area 1 which traverses this railway track at railway level. The road traffic area is in the area of the railway track of track covering elements 4, 5, 4a, 5a, which are arranged at rail level. The track covering elements 4, 4a are arranged between the rails 2, 3 of the track, and the track covering elements 5, 5a are subsequently arranged on the rails 2, 3 on the outside. Next to the outside of the track covering elements 5, 5 a, the road traffic area 1 is formed by road surfaces 6. The road traffic surface runs in the transverse direction 7 of the track represented by the rails 2, 3. In the area of this track are on the side edges 8 of the road traffic surface, the track covering elements 4a, 5a arranged, which have at their the road surface forming surface 9 top luminescent marking elements 10 which form an elongated triangular luminous marking on each of these track covering elements 4a, 5a, on the top surface of this Track covering elements 4a, 5a is located, wherein the long sides 11 of the triangular shape extend in the transverse direction 7 of the railway track represented by the rails 2, 3. An example of such a luminous marking element 10 and its arrangement on a track covering element 4a is shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. This Leuchtmarkierungselement 10 has seen in plan a triangular shape, wherein the long side 11 has a length of about 300 mm. The measured at right angles to the long side 11 of the triangular shape extension 12 of the Leuchtmarkierungsfläche is about 100 mm. The long side 11 is located on the edge 13 of the substantially rectangular track covering element 4a. As can be seen in particular from FIG. 3, the luminous marking element 10 is composed of a multiplicity of reflection bodies in the form of reflective balls 14 which are seated on a base plate 15, which in turn is embedded in the track covering element 4a on its upper side surface 9. With respect to the structural design of the Leuchtmarkierungsflächen exist in addition to the embodiment shown in Figs. 2 and 3 in other ways, such as attaching a plurality of reflective balls directly to the top surface of track covering elements or the use a plurality of the spherical shape deviating shaped reflection body. FIG. 3 a shows a variant of the embodiment of a luminous marking element illustrated in FIG. 3, wherein in the case of that shown in FIG Luminous marking element 10 for the marking function formed by lighting on the one hand provided by extraneous light for lighting reflection body in the form of balls 14 and on the other hand, a plurality of point-like light sources 14a are provided. The light sources 14a are preferably LED elements and are installed such that the majority of their light radiation indicated by dashed lines is emitted in the direction of the course 1a of the road traffic surface and at an angle α of less than 45 ° to the luminous marking surface 16 substantially coinciding with the road traffic surface , For this steering of the light radiation can be provided at the light sources 14a attachment optics 14b and a correspondingly adjusted installation of the light sources. In a modification of this design of a Leuchtmarkierungselementes and the reflection body can be omitted, so that only the light sources 14a provide the marking function. In this case, it is advantageous to provide at the light sources 14a attachment optics 14b, which themselves act as a reflection body for light coming from the outside. Instead of the directionally emitting light sources shown in FIG. 3a, it is also possible to provide diffuse-emitting light sources, as a result of which these light sources can be clearly seen from all sides. Fig. 3b shows a Leuchtmarkierungselement 10 in which punctiform luminous light sources 14a are provided which seen in the following direction of the course 1a of the road surface, a majority of their light indicated by dashed lines at an angle α of less than 45 ° to the road traffic surface emitting parallel luminous marking surface 16 of the Leuchtmarkierungselementes 10 forward, and further punctiform luminous light sources 14a 'are provided, which seen in this the course 1a of the road surface following direction, a majority of their light indicated by dashed lines at an angle α of less than 45 ° radiate back to the light-emitting area 16. It is also possible to provide reflectors in such a luminous marking element in addition to the light sources 14a, 14a '. The aforementioned direction of light emission can be achieved with attachment optics 14b and with a correspondingly adjusted installation of the light sources. FIG. 3c shows a luminous marking element 10 in which punctiform luminous light sources 14a are provided, FIG. which, viewed in the following direction of the course 1a of the road surface, by means of intent optics 14b a majority of their light indicated by dashed lines both at an angle α of less than 45 ° to the traffic surface parallel to the light emitting surface 16 forward and at an angle α radiate backwards from less than 45 ° to the light-emitting area 16. Even with such a Leuchtmarkierungselement can be provided in addition to the light sources 14a reflectors.
