Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fish hook extractor according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the tools on the market for extracting a fish hook from the mouth of a fish are pliers with long gripping jaws.
  • electrician forceps and artery clamps - as known from surgery - are used.
  • throat locks are offered, which should keep the mouth of the fish open.
  • the fish hangs on the hook is slippery and fidgets.
  • the throat lock is introduced. If you can see the hook - usually it is still covered with bait - try to grab the hook with the pliers. Provided that this succeeds, there is no guarantee that the hook will remain in the grip of the pliers. Multiple searches are often required. Once you finally have a firm grip on the hook, it must be uncovered with a special movement of the hand and carefully pulled out of the still fidgeting fish without hooking it back.
  • the throat lock is a hindrance both when gripping the fish hook and when loosening and pulling out. Every unsuccessful attempt leads to repetitions of the above-mentioned processes with additional burdens both for the fish, which if it is intended to be released again "Catch & Release", as well as for the material of the hook, in particular for the anti-rust coating.
  • a pistol-shaped tool for removing a fish hook from a fish mouth is known, a claw device being provided at the front end of the pistol barrel, which can be closed by actuating a trigger that is biased open to take the hook ,
  • the claw device comprises a fixed claw formed at the front end of the gun barrel and a movable claw which can be pivoted relative to it by means of the trigger.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a device for extracting a fish hook from the mouth of a fish, with which the fish hook is automatically controlled and safely detected and solved and the risk of re-hooking when pulled out of the mouth of the fish is avoided.
  • the advantages that can be achieved by the invention lie in the gentle and rapid liberation of the fish as well as in the simple handling of the fish hook extractor, because this is guided straight along the tensioned fishing line to the fish hook. Since the curvature of the hook is directed towards the throat exit when the hook holder is in the retracted position, it cannot be re-hooked. The device can therefore easily pull the hook out of the throat.
  • a particular advantage is given by the optional interchangeability of the hook holder. Since special fish hooks and hook sizes are used for each type of fish, differently dimensioned hook holders can be attached depending on the fish hook size, so that only one basic device is required. As a result, the basic device can be manufactured in large numbers and thus more cost-effectively.
  • FIG. 1 is a plan view of the device according to the invention in the unfolded state of the hook holder
  • FIG. 2 is a side view of the device according to the invention in the unfolded state of the hook holder
  • FIG. 3 shows a side view of the device according to the invention in the unfolded engagement state of the hook holder, the hook holder itself being shown stuck in the longitudinal central section and the hook in the mouth meat of the fish
  • 4 shows a side view of the device according to the invention in the folded engagement state of the hook holder, the hook holder itself being shown in the longitudinal central section and the released hook with the curvature in the pull-out direction
  • FIG. 5 is an overall view of the device according to the invention in the unfolded position of the hook holder
  • Fig. 6 is an overall view of the device according to the invention in the folded position of the hook holder.
  • a hook holder 1 is shown, consisting of a metallic tube with funnel-shaped inlet 2 at the front end. The diameter and length of the metallic tube are selected according to the hook size.
  • the hook holder is provided with a slot 3 over the entire length. This slot 3 begins at the upper edge 3a of the funnel-shaped front inlet 2 of the hook holder 1 and extends spirally to the lower edge 3b at the rear end of the hook holder 1.
  • the slot 3 can be designed to be clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on whether the device is for right-handed or left-handed people is determined.
  • the slot width is dimensioned according to the line thickness.
  • two parallel tabs 4 are arranged laterally.
  • tabs 4 can be produced by cutting open the pipe end or by welding to the pipe jacket.
  • the tabs 4 are each provided with a bore for receiving a hinge pin 5, which is transverse to the axis of the hook holder 1.
  • On the top of the hook holder 1 there is a radially directed and longitudinally attached attachment with a bore which serves as a pivot bearing 6 of the front connecting rod head 7 of a connecting rod 8.
  • the axis of the front connecting rod head 7 is transverse to the axis of the hook holder 1.
  • the longitudinal distance between the axis of the hinge pin 5 of the hook holder 1 and the axis of the connecting rod head 7 results in the necessary lever arm.
  • the height distance between the axes of the pivot pin 5 and the connecting rod head 7 preferably corresponds to the sum of the radii of the pivot pin 5 and the connecting rod head 7.
  • a holding arm 9 - preferably a square bar - is formed with a separate head part 10 to which the hook holder 1 is articulated.
  • This head part 10 is preferably designed to be interchangeable. However, only the hook holder 1 can also be arranged interchangeably. This has the advantage that differently sized hook holders 1 can be used with the same basic device.
  • the head part 10 is pluggably connected to the rest of the holding arm and secured by means of a snap-in spring clip 11.
  • the head part 10 of the holding arm 9 has two tabs at the front with transverse bores 12 for receiving the hinge pin 5, about which the hook holder 1 can be pivoted.
  • a sliding member 13 attached to the holding arm 9 can be seen.
  • This sliding member 13 is designed such that it can be moved easily over the entire length of the holding arm 9.
  • At the front end of the sliding member 13 there is an attachment parallel to the longitudinal axis of the holding arm with a bore which serves as a joint bearing for the rear connecting rod head 14.
  • a finger trigger 16 is attached at the rear end.
  • a clamping device 17 for a fishing line 18 is attached at the rear end of the holding arm 9.
  • the clamping device 17 consists of two slightly convex disks 19, 20 pressed against one another for receiving fishing lines 18 of different strengths.
  • the lower disc 19 is attached to the holding arm 9, the upper disc 20 is mounted with a screw 21 over the lower disc 19.
  • a spring 22 under the screw head serves for the fine adjustment of the pressure on the upper disc 20 for securely holding the fishing line 18.
  • the clamping device can be formed by a single slightly convex disk which is pressed against a surface of the holding arm or the handle in an adjustable manner by means of a spring and screw.
  • an ergonomically shaped handle 23 is attached to the rear end of the holding arm 9 in such a way that the handle 23 and holding arm 9 are arranged in the form of a pistol.
  • the device is preferably made of such materials that it floats in water and is therefore not lost if the operator accidentally drops it into the water.
  • the fishing line 18 is brought in diagonally through the spiral slot 3 on the hook holder 1. Then it is held taut parallel to the holding arm 9. The hook holder 1 is then carefully advanced in the direction of the hook 24, the fishing line 18 acting as a guide until the fishing hook leg 25 is received. This eliminates the need for special equipment to inspect the fish's mouth. Then the tensioned fishing line 18 is clamped with half a winding between the slightly convex disks 19, 20. From now on, the device can be operated with one hand. This is particularly advantageous for fidgeting fish or heavily swaying boats.
  • the hook holder 1 tilts about 150 °.
  • the hook 24 is released from the fish mouth by itself.
  • the hook 24 is now with the curvature to the exit, thus has no possibility of hooking in again, and is extracted without problems.
