Definitions
- the present invention relates to a particular fluid dispenser commonly designated by the expression "Duo dispenser” because it comprises two often separate dispensing units each comprising a fluid reservoir defining an opening, a dispensing member for withdrawing and dispensing fluid from the reservoir as well as a fixing member for fixing the dispensing member to the opening of the reservoir.
- the dispensing member is a pump, but it can also sometimes be a valve.
- the opening of the reservoir is often in the form of a neck which projects above a reservoir body intended to contain the fluid product.
- the fixing member it is often in the form of a ring inside which the dispensing member is fixed and hooking means to achieve a solid and often waterproof fixing on the opening. or the tank neck.
- This type of duo distributor finds a preferred application in the case where two basic products should not be mixed until the last moment.
- Such dual dispensers can be used in the field of pharmacy, cosmetics or even perfumery.
- each dispensing unit comprises an actuating rod through which the fluid is discharged on each actuation.
- the duo dispenser comprises two dispensing units
- the two actuating rods are capped with a common dispensing head which can be pressed to actuate the two rods simultaneously the two units.
- an outer shell in which the two units are installed.
- the hull contains at least the two tanks, leaving at least the two actuating rods of the two units to protrude outside the hull.
- the hull comprises a bottom which serves as a support surface for the two distribution units. Thus, the units rest on the bottom of the hull.
- a closure cover can be used which is arranged and fixed at the upper end of the hull to hold the two dispensing units in place inside the hull.
- This kind of configuration does not offer any modularity, since it is always imperative to use the same distribution units to make the duo distributor. Indeed, since each unit tank rests at the bottom of the shell, it is for example not possible to modify the volume of the unit tank, since its actuating rod would no longer protrude out of the hull.
- the object of the present invention is to remedy this aforementioned drawback of the prior art by defining a fluid product dispenser of the duo type which offers great modularity as regards the use of the distribution units which it incorporates. In particular, it may use units whose tank has different capacities.
- the present invention provides a fluid dispenser comprising two separate dispensing units each comprising a fluid reservoir defining an opening, a dispensing member for withdrawing and dispensing fluid from the reservoir and a fixing member for attach the dispensing member to the opening of the reservoir, and a common outer shell in which at least the two reservoirs are housed, the shell comprising receiving means for receiving and maintaining the two dispensing units inside the shell.
- holding means intended to cooperate with the means for receiving the hull to separately hold the respective unit inside the hull.
- the fixing member forms the holding means.
- each distribution unit is kept distinctly at its fixing member, that is to say at the opening of the tank, in the receiving means formed by the shell.
- the tanks of each unit no longer need to rest at the bottom of the hull, so that the hull does not even need to form a bottom, which can then advantageously be added.
- the latching of the units in the receiving means can be done through the open bottom of the hull or from above the hull. It is therefore easily understood that it is possible to use tanks of different capacity, or of different shape, since the configuration of the tank, or at least its height is no longer linked to the configuration of the covering shell. outside. This implies great modularity in the use of the distribution units which are integrated in the distributor. In addition, since each distribution unit is completely separate, and forms before its assembly in the hull two fully equivalent and interchangeable units, there is no problem of arrangement of the units inside the hull. The only links between the two units are formed by the shell receiving means and the common distribution head which covers the two distribution units. However, it is possible to provide for application cases in which there is no common distribution head, but on the contrary two separate distribution heads.
- the receiving means form two latching housings, the holding means forming a peripheral profile intended to be snapped into a respective housing.
- the holding means comprise a radial flange which extends outwards.
- the distributor can also comprise blocking means for blocking the distribution units in the reception means.
- the blocking means comprise a cup fixed on the hull and coming into blocking engagement with the distribution units.
- the dispenser comprises a dispensing head for simultaneously actuating the two units, the cup forming a sleeve inside or outside of which the dispensing head is slidably engaged, the sleeve comprising retaining means suitable for prevent the head from disengaging from the sleeve.
- the dispensing head is adapted to be mounted on actuating rods of the respective units, the retaining means making it possible to preposition the head on the rods actuation, the final mounting of the head on the rods taking place during the first actuation of the dispenser.
- the shell is provided with a bottom, the tanks being out of bearing contact with the bottom.
- the reception means can be formed in a single piece by the shell.
- the distribution units can be engaged from above in the receiving means, so that the tanks enter the shell first through the receiving means.
- the receiving means comprise two housings each comprising latching profiles and bearing surfaces, the holding means comprising a flange defining an upper face engaged with the latching profiles and a lower face engaged with the bearing surfaces.
- the dispenser comprises a dispensing head displaceable by axial support so as to support the underside of the flange on the bearing surfaces.
- FIG. 1 is a view in vertical cross-section through a dispenser according to an embodiment of the invention
- FIG. 2 is a view of a distribution unit integrated in the dispenser of Figure 1
- Figure 3 is an enlarged view of the distribution member and the fixing member of the distribution unit shown in the figure 2
- FIG. 4 is a view in vertical cross section through the shell of the dispenser of FIG. 1,
- FIG 5 is a top view of the shell shown in Figure 4.
- the dual dispenser of the invention shown in the figures comprises two distribution units 1 and an outer shell 6 in which at at least part of the two distribution units is housed.
- the two distribution units are associated with a common distribution head 5, but one could also have provided two separate heads connected by any means.
- the dispenser comprises a bottom 8 attached to the lower end of the shell 6, a cup 7 associated with the upper end of the shell 6 as well as a cover 9 which covers the dispensing head 5 and which cooperates with the cup 7.
- the bottom 8, the cup 7, and the cover 9 are optional, but advantageous.
- the distribution unit is generally designated by the reference numeral 1. It comprises a container 2 defining a barrel 21, advantageously cylindrical, at the upper end of which is formed a neck 22 defining an opening 23 which communicates the interior of barrel 21 with the exterior.
- the barrel 21 is provided at its lower end with a bottom element 25 which is advantageously attached to the barrel 21.
- the barrel 21 also comprises a scraper or follower piston 24 which is engaged in the interior of the barrel 21 so as to be able to slide there tightly.
- the follower piston 24 is intended to move in the direction of the opening 23 as the fluid contained in the reservoir 20 is extracted therefrom.
- the fluid stored inside the tank 20 is never in contact with the ambient air inside the tank 20.
- the neck 22 is formed with an external reinforcement 220 which defines the upper end of the neck.
- the container can be replaced by a pocket system comprising for example a flexible pocket associated with a rigid pocket support in engagement with the fixing member.
- This container 2 is associated with a distribution member 3 and a fixing member 4 as shown in Figure 3 in an enlarged manner.
- the organ of distribution 3, which here is preferably a pump, comprises a body 31 defining at its lower end an inlet conduit 32 communicating with the interior of the reservoir 20. At its upper end, the body 31 forms a snap collar 33 which projects radially outward. Beyond the collar 33, the dispensing member comprises an actuating rod 34 which is axially displaceable inside the body 31. This actuating rod 34 defines an internal delivery conduit through which the product withdrawn and pumped by pump 3 is distributed.
- the fixing member 4 comprises snap-on reception means 41 intended to receive the snap-in collar 33 of the body 31 of the pump 3.
- the fixing member 41 include an internal peripheral flange 411 on which the collar 33 comes to bear. These receiving means 41 are located at the upper end of the fixing member. Below these reception means 41, the fixing member forms a spinner 4 which is in the form of a substantially cylindrical section arranged concentrically around the body 31 leaving an intermediate annular space. At its lower end, the spinner 40 forms a shoulder 421 which extends radially outwards. This shoulder 421 serves as a bearing surface for an O-ring seal 221 which is advantageously pre-engaged and maintained by friction around the body 31 of the pump 3 as can be seen very clearly in FIG. 3. Beyond this shoulder 421, the fixing member forms snap-fastening means 42 defining a snap-in housing partially closed by a peripheral cord 422 which extends inwards. These fixing means
- the fixing means 42 are intended to receive the external peripheral reinforcement 220 formed by the neck 22.
- the housing formed by the fixing means 42 is designed such that the upper end of the neck 22 is fixedly received inside the housing by compressing the joint 221 against the shoulder 421.
- the fixing member forms a second outward shoulder 44 whose function will be given below.
- the fixing member forms a peripheral radial flange 43 which extends outwards.
- the dual dispenser of the present invention incorporates two distribution units of this type. It is preferable, even essential, that the units include an entire identical flange 43. Likewise, it is preferable that the distance separating the flange 43 from the upper end of the actuating rod 34 is identical for all the units.
- the fixing member and the dispensing member may vary from one unit to another.
- the containers 2 can vary in shape, that is to say in height or in width.
- the shell 6 is roughly in the form of a cylindrical section of ovoid shape or ellipsoidal as can be seen in FIG. 5.
- the shell 6 thus comprises a substantially cylindrical barrel 61 which ends at its lower end by a snap-in end 63 intended to cooperate with an added base 8 visible in FIG. 1.
- a its upper end, the ft 61 defines receiving means 62 which are here in the form of two housings 620 bordered by latching profiles 621 and bearing surfaces 622. These latching profiles 621 and these surfaces d 'support 622 can extend over the entire periphery of the housings 620, or as shown in Figures 4 and 5, only locally in the form of sectors.
- Each housing 620 forms a passage opening which communicates the inside of the barrel 61 with the outside.
- the shell 6 is advantageously symmetrical along a plane passing between the two housings 620, as can be seen in FIG. 5.
- the shell surrounds the containers 2, at least partially, the neck 22 being able to project out of the shell.
- the hull could only extend over part of the height of the barrel 61 or be made with windows.
- the receiving means 62 are intended to cooperate with the flanges 43 which form holding means. More specifically, the outer peripheral edges of the flanges 43 are intended to cooperate with the snap profiles 621 formed around the housings 620.
- each distribution unit 1 can be attached from above and held in the shell 6 at the level of a housing 620 by first passing the reservoir 2 through the housing 620 until the flange 43 can be snapped into force under the snap profiles 621 on the stop surfaces.
- the upper face of the flange engages with the latching profiles and the lower face with the stop surfaces.
- the receiving means can also include screwing means instead of the snap-on sectors.
- Each distribution unit is thus attached and fixed in place completely separately and independently.
- the distribution units 1 are thus connected to the shell 6 only at the level of the housings 620.
- the added base 8 may include centering means 82, which may be in the form of vertical bars intended to come into engagement with the 'lower end of the barrels 21 for centering the containers 2 inside the shell 6.
- centering means 82 do not participate in fixing the distribution units 1 in the shell 6.
- a cup 7 is fixed on the shell 6.
- This cup definitively blocks the two distribution units in the receiving means 62 of the shell.
- This cup 7 comprises an external skirt 71 snapped around the upper end of the shell 6, where it forms the receiving means 62.
- the cup 7 forms a blocking wall 72 pierced with two openings, the peripheral edges engage with the respective distribution units, advantageously at the shoulders 44 formed by the fixing members 4.
- the cup strengthens the fixing of the distribution on the shell 6.
- the cup 7 forms a sleeve 73 which extends freely upwards.
- the external wall of this sleeve 73 advantageously comes into frictional contact with the internal wall of a cover 9 intended to cover the dispensing units and which abuts on the external skirt 71. This is a conventional characteristic. for a protective cover.
- the internal wall of the sleeve 73 forms retaining means 731 whose function will be given below.
- the two distribution units 1 are associated with a distribution head 5 which is advantageously common to the two units.
- This dispensing head 5 comprises an upper bearing surface 51 on which one can press with one or more fingers to actuate the two units simultaneously.
- the head forms two connection sleeves 52 intended to receive the upper ends of the respective actuating rods 34 of the two units.
- These two connection sleeves 52 are extended by outlet conduits (not shown) which open at two separate dispensing orifices or at a common dispensing orifice (not shown).
- the dispensing head 5 comprises a peripheral skirt 53 which extends freely downwards.
- This skirt 53 defines, for example at its free lower end, a peripheral retaining profile 530 intended to cooperate with the retaining means 731 formed for example at the upper end of the sleeve 73.
- the dispensing head 5 is temporarily held in place relative to the cup 7, and therefore, relative to the distribution units 1. It can be seen in Figure 1 that the actuating rods 34 of the two units are not engaged in inside of the connection sleeves 52. The dispensing head 5 is therefore only pre-positioned on the actuating rods 34 and maintained in this position thanks to the cooperation between the skirt 53 and the sleeve 73. The final position of the head distribution 5 will only be reached after the first actuation of the dispenser by pressing on the bearing surface 51.
- the push on the surface 51 will cause the engagement to f On the actuating rods 34 inside the sleeves of connection 52.
- the temporary retention of the skirt in the sleeve 73 will be broken.
- the protective cover 9 engaged on the cup 7 also has the function of protecting the dispensing head 5 in its pre-engaged position on the distribution units.
- the thrust on the actuating head has the effect of pressing the underside of the flange 43 on the bearing surfaces 622 formed by the shell. Since the bearing surfaces and the underside of the extending flange in a contact plane perpendicular to the axis of the thrust exerted on the head, it is impossible to extract the units from their respective housings during of distribution.
- a distributor of the duo type is obtained which is perfectly modular since each distribution unit constitutes a separate entity which can be easily attached to the hull independently and separately.
