Description

The present invention relates to a Intervallschalteinrichtung for a shower with a cold water supply, a hot water supply, a mixer, in which both lines open, a shower head and a single leading from the mixer to the shower head line as defined in the preamble of claim 1 and as a conventional shower with a Mixer tap is known. The invention further relates to a shower provided with such an interval switching device.

It is known that alternating baths exert on the human body a stimulating, hardening and / or healing effect. In such alternating baths, the human body is alternately brought into contact with hot water and cold water. Similar effects arise when such alternating contact with hot water and cold water is effected by means of showers. So it is known to achieve such effects, the shower or their mixer manually to operate or adjust so that the shower alternately releases hot water and cold water over certain time intervals. In this case, however, every time when switching from hot water to cold water or vice versa, a manual adjustment must be made, which is inconvenient and annoying. In particular, this is at very short time intervals of the succession of hot water and cold water uncomfortable and sometimes not feasible because when switching to hot water again and again a regulation must be made in order to achieve the desired, comfortable for the body warm water temperature.

From the DE 202 07 365 U1 a so-called hot-cold shower is known which has a mixing unit, from which a double shower hose leads to a two-chambered shower head. This shower system is relatively complicated, since in this case a special complex mixing unit is used and a double shower hose with a specially trained shower head are needed. In addition to the normal operating states "cold showers" and "hot showers", this shower can be used to set a "hot-cold shower" operating mode in which hot water flows out of one of the two chambers of the double shower head, while cold water flows from the second chamber at the same time. This is thus the simultaneous delivery of cold water and hot water from a single shower head. In addition, it is noted in this publication that the shut-off devices of the valve system can be electrically controlled by a computer and a control panel, where the desired operating state of the shower is selectable and adjustable. Also, a certain time can be selected over which the desired operating state remains activated, or after the operating state is to be changed automatically. A special note that hereby alternately hot and cold water to be dispensed from both chambers of the double shower head is not included in this publication.

The present invention has for its object to provide a Intervallschalteinrichtung for a shower, with the shower in a simple and convenient way in a shower, that is, a shower alternately in intervals hot water and cold water, can be converted.

This object is achieved by a Intervallschalteinrichtung with a arranged in the hot water pipe obturator, the obturator an interval up and zurueenden control unit and an operating unit for manually switching on and off the Intvervalleinrichtung and manually entering and deleting the lengths of the open and close intervals dissolved the obturator.

The inventively designed Intervallschalteinrichtung is simple and easy to handle. It has only a single obturator, which is located in the hot water supply to the shower. This obturator is opened and closed by a control unit at intervals, whereby the alternating cold and hot water discharge is achieved by the shower. With an operating unit, the user of the shower can turn the interval device on and off and enter and delete the lengths of the open and close intervals of the shut-off device.

The inventively designed Intervallschalteinrichtung can be subsequently arranged or installed in already installed showers. This can be realized in a simple manner, since the interval switching device requires only three main parts. Of course, it can also be installed from home in conjunction with a conventional shower (reinstallation).

When the interval switching device according to the invention has been installed, it is used as follows: The user of the shower sets a desired hot water temperature via the conventional mixer present in the shower. He then performs a shower with the set to the desired temperature hot water. If the shower is now to be operated as a change shower, suitable lengths of the open and closed intervals are set via the operating unit. These intervals may be identical or different, for example, a 60sec hot water interval and a 20sec cold water interval may be set. The interval switching device is then switched on manually. Since the shower is already in the hot water delivery mode, the obturator is initially not operated until the 60sec warm water interval has expired. The control unit then controls the obturator, which closes the hot water supply immediately. It therefore flows only cold water to the shower head, so that the desired 20sec cold water delivery is performed. After completion of the cold water interval, the obturator is turned on again, so that now again hot water is discharged. When the hot water delivery both hot water and cold water flow to the mixer and are mixed by this in a suitable manner.

In the inventively designed Intervallschalteinrichtung therefore the cold water supply is never blocked, but only throttled by the mixer in the usual way to get hot water for showering. The Intervallschalteinrichtung itself does not intervene in the cold water supply, but only shuts off the hot water supply, if the cold water interval is desired in the alternating shower operation. This mode of operation is very simple. Double showerheads or double hoses are not needed, and the invention formed Intervallschalteinrichtung can be installed in any conventional shower.

The setting of the cold water and hot water intervals in Alternating shower operation is preferably carried out via a timer, which is actuated via the operating unit. The timer forms part of the control unit, which then controls the shut-off device at certain preset time intervals.

The inventively designed Intervallschalteinrichtung can be installed both on plaster and under plaster. If an existing shower system to be retrofitted with the Intervallschalteinrichtung, only an access to the hot water supply upstream of the mixer must be created. At this point, the obturator is installed in the hot water supply, to which a suitable control line is connected. The control line is routed to the control unit, which can be installed as a separate unit or together with the control unit in a housing. For a corresponding power connection to the control unit or control unit is to ensure, for example, battery or low voltage.

As a shut-off device, any known organ can be used, for example a valve, slide, rotary valve, a flap, etc. Corresponding organs are known to the installation expert and need not be described and explained in detail at this point.

The control of the obturator is preferably carried out in an electromagnetic manner, so that only an electrical signal line is to be laid as a control line. The obturator is formed in this case as a solenoid valve, spool, rotary slide valve, etc.

The operating unit necessarily has an on-off switch and means for manually entering and clearing the lengths of the open and close intervals of the obturator on. This may be a suitable keyboard, which is preferably designed as a touch screen. In addition, the control unit can display (display) to display the desired hot water and cold water intervals.

The control unit controls the obturator in response to the commands entered. Since in the inventively designed Intervallschalteinrichtung no dosage of the hot water must be done (this dosing is caused by the already provided in the shower mixer), only a supply and control of the hot water supply is required so that the obturator and the corresponding control unit can be easily formed. The control unit is preferably a corresponding electronic component which may be suitably programmed to execute the desired commands. The setting of the desired interval lengths can be done via the previously mentioned timer.

The present invention further relates to a shuttle nozzle provided with an interval switching device as described above.

The invention will now be described in detail with reference to an embodiment in conjunction with the drawings. The single FIGURE shows a schematic representation of a provided with a Intervallschalteinrichtung alternating shower.

The schematically illustrated shower has a cold water supply line 1 and a hot water supply line 2. Both lines open into a mixer 3 of known design, which is a device for switching on and off the shower and for mixing cold and hot water. From the mixer 3 performs a single line 4, which is traversed by both the cold water and the hot water or hot water, to a conventional shower head 5. This corresponds to a shower of a conventional design.

The actual interval switching device will be described below. This has a suitable shut-off device 6, which may be, for example, an electromagnetically actuated shut-off valve. The obturator is installed in the hot water supply line 2 upstream of the mixer 3. This can be used to lock or open the hot water supply to the mixer. The actuation of the obturator is carried out automatically via a suitable control line 7, are supplied via the electrical pulses for actuating the electromagnet of the obturator. The control line 7 is based on a control unit 8, which may be a suitable electronic component with programming. A manual input option of commands for adjusting the length of the open and close times of the obturator 6 is given by a control panel 12 of a suitable control unit 9, which also has an on and off switch 11 for the Intervallschalteinrichtung and a display 10 for has set interval lengths. An appropriate power supply is not shown.

For simplicity, it is also possible to design the control unit so that manually only a period of time can be entered, which applies to both the up and to the interval of the shut-off.

The term "mixer" used above is intended to mean both mixing valves of known type and individual valves for hot and cold with subsequent combination of both lines cover to the shower head.

With the interval switching device according to the invention, arbitrary times for the open and closed intervals (hot / cold water) can be set, which are preferably in the second to minute range.
