Definitions
- the invention relates to a self-adhesive label that can be removed after bonding to an object in whole or in part of this object again.
- a no or only slightly adhesive grip tab provided for later removal of the object.
- Such labels are used, for example, in the pharmaceutical industry in the labeling of containers application.
- the label or sections of the label should be removed from the container or from the rest of the label, for example, to be glued as a document in a patient file.
- grip tabs are used. They lie on the outer edge of the label or part of the label, and their bond strength is reduced or canceled. The user grasps this area and pulls off the entire label or section.
- grip tabs are useful aids, since for example in operations, the labels or sections often need to be grasped and withdrawn with sterile plastic gloves. For this it is necessary to provide an easily accessible and stable grip tab. This object is achieved by a piece of material below the label, which is not adhesive or reduced in its adhesion.
- the label can be applied in its properties during dispensing without complications on an object to be labeled. Essential is therefore the provision of the label on an undamaged web.
- FIGs 1a and 1b show the structure of such labels according to the prior art.
- Figures 2-3 two preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described.
- Figure 1a illustrates a prior art label 101, as can be seen in document EP-A2-1 302 922. It lies on a carrier web 108 in which an area 108a is punched out.
- the label 101 consists of at least one film layer 102 and an adhesive layer 103.
- Fig. 1b shows the same label 101 as it is glued to an object 109. It can be seen that the punched out area 108a of the carrier web is removed together with the label 101 from the rest of the carrier web and this composite is applied in its entirety to the object 109.
- the label is in the range of 108a without adhesive connection to the substrate.
- this area which thus represents a grip tab, the label 101 can be conveniently gripped, whereby it can be removed again from the object 109.
- a label construction as in FIGS. 1a / b has the decisive disadvantage of damaging the carrier material. This greatly complicates the automated dispensing of the label with high-speed dispensing machines.
- the punched-out part of the carrier material 108a may not be self-adhesive. The grip tab is thus automatically, especially when glued to uneven objects automatically slightly off.
- a label 201 is also located on a carrier web 208. It consists of at least one upper film layer 202 and a first adhesive layer 203 underneath. Below this Location, the label is divided into two halves:
- a so-called release layer 204 is applied to a foil section 205a.
- a second adhesive layer 206 Under film section 205a is a second adhesive layer 206.
- Releas layers such as 204 are commonly made of silicone coatings, with which a precise adjustment the adhesive forces of the overlying adhesive layer is made possible.
- the illustrated label construction was made without damaging the substrate 208.
- the label 201 can be dispensed so easily to an object, such as a container, automatically.
- the layer 207 is attacked analogously to the procedure in FIG. 1b and the composite of the upper foil layer 202, the first adhesive layer 203, the piece of material 205b and the underlying layers is removed , This composite is shown in FIG. 2b, where it can in turn be glued to an article 209, for example a patient file.
- the manufacture of the label 201 is characterized by interim stamping during the production process.
- the film layer 205 including the adhesive layer 206 and the adhesive effect reducing or canceling means 207
- the film layer 205 is provided on the left side with the release layer 204.
- the film layer 205 is punched without punching through the carrier.
- the film section 205a and the piece of material 205b lie directly next to one another. Only after stamping is the upper foil 202 laminated with the adhesive 203 onto the composite.
- the invention also makes it possible to provide only a part of the top layer of the label as a detachable document with a grip tab, so that another part of the top film layer 202 remains on the film section 205a, in which case the release layer 204 remains recessed in this area and a punching the upper film layer 202 is necessary.
- FIG. 3 shows a second preferred embodiment of the invention.
- a label 301 is provided here on a carrier web 308. It is essentially single-layered, but two-layered in the area on the right.
- a film layer 302 is applied to the carrier web 308 by means of an adhesive 303. Below this, in the right-hand area, there is a further layer 305 as a grasping aid. By applying this layer, for example by sub-dispensing, a grasping aid is again provided without damaging the carrier web.
