Definitions

  • the invention relates to a door seal according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the invention relates in particular to a lowerable door seal.
  • Door seals are used in areas where soundproofing and draft protection is desired.
  • Simple door seals are so-called sliding seals, which are fastened to the door, either centrally or directly, and whose sealing element, usually a sealing lip, projects beyond a lower end face of the door downwards.
  • these sliding seals are arranged so that they rest on the floor only in the closed state of the door and have a distance from the floor when opening and closing the door. This is usually achieved by placing a so-called bump threshold on the ground.
  • the sanding seal can, but need not, be height adjustable.
  • lowerable door seals which usually consist essentially of a downwardly open, U-shaped guide rail, one held in the guide rail and relative to this sliding sealing strip and a drive mechanism for lowering or raising the sealing strip exist.
  • the sealing strip automatically lowers when closing the door.
  • Such door seals are made, for example EP-A-0'338'974 .
  • Such door seals could not prevail in certain applications, however, in the desired manner. Thus, they are often not used for double doors because the second door is difficult to close due to the air accumulating in the space between the two doors.
  • rooms in which a ventilation is desired such as shower rooms or bathrooms, hardly provided with such door seals.
  • they are not used for rooms with an active draft, for example also in shower rooms and kitchens or in Minergie® houses with controlled forced ventilation. Nevertheless, a soundproof or at least soundproofing the door is desired for these rooms.
  • a privacy screen is often desirable to prevent light from shining through under the door.
  • JP A 20001110455 discloses a door having a lower door seal about which an air passage is formed.
  • the door seal is held in the door so that on both sides and above a sufficiently large gap is present to ensure ventilation.
  • DE 196 46 383 shows a sliding seal, which is arranged in a rail.
  • the profile rail is mounted on a door leaf.
  • DE 202 01 065 shows a seal for a sectional door, wherein in the sealing strip staggered openings are present.
  • the flow path runs above the sealing strip through a flow space.
  • EP 0 736 405 describes a lip seal of a trunk lid or other part of a vehicle.
  • the door seal according to the invention has pressure compensation openings which, in the sealing state of a sealing strip, permit air to pass from one side of the door to the other side of the door.
  • the pressure equalization openings allow sufficient air circulation to the outside, without the sound insulation or the sunscreen is significantly impaired. The protection against drafts is still guaranteed to some extent, as the pressure equalization opening allows only a small flow of air.
  • the inventive door seal is preferably a sliding seal or a lowerable seal.
  • the door seal shown has substantially the same structure as the seal described in EP-A-0'338'974. However, the inventive concept is not limited to such seals.
  • the seal according to this embodiment is embedded in a groove of a door T. But it can also be attached, for example, on the side door leaf or arranged on the lower end face of the door.
  • the seal has a guide rail 1, which is preferably made of aluminum.
  • the guide rail 1 is a substantially U-shaped longitudinal profile with two preferably mutually parallel side walls 10 and the side walls 10 connecting web 11. The profile is open at the bottom.
  • a sealing strip 2 is automatically lowered and arranged liftable.
  • an actuating mechanism is present, which comprises an actuating rod 3 shown here and non-visible spring elements.
  • the sealing strip 2 has a carrier rail 20 and at least one sealing element 21.
  • the carrier rail 20 is preferably also made of an aluminum profile.
  • the sealing element 21 may be formed in several or one piece.
  • the sealing element 21 is a one-piece elastomeric sealing profile, which on two opposite sides of the support rail 20 is attached to fastening points 23 and with their attachment points 23 projecting legs slidably rests against the inner side walls of the guide rail 1. In the lowered state, the sealing profile lies sealingly on the floor, wherein it projects beyond the underside of the door T downwards.
  • a damping element 22 can still be arranged in an upwardly open U-shaped receptacle of the carrier rail 20. This is to dampen any rattling noise when lowering and lifting the sealing strip 2.
  • the door seal on pressure equalization openings which are offset from each other.
  • the staggered arrangement has the advantage that light transmission is prevented.
  • a valve 6 is arranged in the sealing profile 21, which allows the flow of air in one direction, but blocked in the other direction.
  • This valve 6 is particularly suitable for door seals, in which on one side of the door an active air extraction takes place.
  • Minergie® houses with controlled forced ventilation, the extraction of air often takes place via bathrooms and / or the kitchen.
  • the valve allows for a suction in these cases, but prevents air flow in the other direction.
  • this valve is formed by a sealing lip 6 which is integrally formed on the lower web 210 of the sealing profile 21 and preferably bears under prestress against an inner side wall of the sealing profile 21.
  • the sealing lip 6 preferably extends over the entire length of the sealing profile 21. However, it is also possible to arrange it only in the region of the pressure equalization openings 4, 4 '.
  • FIG. 4 an embodiment is shown which facilitates the understanding of the invention and is not covered in the claims, in which the pressure equalization openings 4, 4 'of the two opposite sides are arranged in pairs in a line in alignment. In this figure it is shown how an air flow can take place from the left to the right side, but the opposite way is closed by the valve 6 is.
  • FIG. 5 a valve in the form of an elastomeric sealing lip 6 'is shown, which is fixed to the support rail 20.
  • a valve in the form of an elastomeric sealing lip 6 ' is shown, which is fixed to the support rail 20.
  • other materials, shapes and arrangements for the valve are possible.
  • pressure equalization openings 4, 4 ' can be present both in the guide rail 1 and in the sealing strip 2. Furthermore, such openings 4, 4 'may be arranged in the carrier rail 20 and in the sealing element 21. Preferably, however, the openings 4, 4 'are always smaller by a multiple compared to the rest of the sealing surface.
  • the pressure equalization openings 4, 4 'according to the invention can already be introduced during the production of the door seal. However, it is also possible to introduce them only when installing the door. In particular, in the second case, they can be formed depending on the application in the desired number, size and distance.
  • the door seal according to the invention offers good sound insulation and light protection and still protects against drafts. But it still allows a certain air circulation.
