Definitions

  • the invention describes a spring clip for clamping onto a surge arrester. Furthermore, the invention relates to an arrangement of the surge arrester with the spring clip. The invention also relates to a method for producing the arrangement.
  • surge arresters of the type mentioned at the outset are known, in which a shorting bar is provided which is fastened to the central electrode of the surge arrester. A fusible element and a varistor are clamped between a spring arm of the shorting bar and a respective outer electrode of the surge arrester. After the overvoltage arrester, the spring, the fusible element and the varistor have been assembled, the overvoltage arrester is fed to the corresponding application and, for this purpose, soldered into a circuit board, for example.

  • the known surge arrester has the disadvantage that overheating of the surge arrester and thus the occurrence of fire can be effectively prevented by the fuse, but there is a risk that the thermal energy required for melting the fuse will be sufficient to dissolve the solder on the conductor the circuit board keeps melting and thus unsoldering the conductor.
