Definitions

  • the invention relates to a socket for an electrical equipment, such as a lamp, in particular a gas discharge lamp or a fluorescent lamp.
  • Lampholders or similar sockets for other electrical equipment usually have a plastic housing, which consists of several, for example, two parts. These must be connected together during the manufacture of the socket.
  • the housing parts usually enclose an interior in which one or more contact means are housed. The housing parts must be held together so that they can not be unintentionally detached from each other during transport and handling nor in later use.
  • clamping or holding means for the mechanical securing of the holder mechanically held and electrically connected equipment.
  • Such clamping or holding means are formed for example on fluorescent lamp holders or sockets for halogen lamps by clamping springs, which have a latching portion for the lamp. It is known to attach the clamping spring with a rivet, which can hold together socket parts at the same time.
  • a two-part lamp socket is known, the two housing parts are penetrated by a retaining spring.
  • the retaining spring has a portion for latching mounting of the lighting means and a second portion which serves to hold the two housing parts together.
  • the socket housing further structures, which serve to attach the socket housing to a support.
  • a lamp socket with a two-part socket body on which a clamping spring is held latching for mounting the lamp.
  • the socket body associated with two metal tabs with threaded holes that are to connect to a light fixture.
  • JP-A-08106966 discloses a lamp socket with two locking tongues for attachment to a lamp panel.
  • the version according to the invention has a clamping spring, with which a resource can be secured to the socket.
  • the clamping spring serves to hold the two housing parts together. It is divided into several sections. The first section serves to secure the operating means while the second section forms the connecting means for the two housing parts. The connection between the housing parts is thus produced during assembly of the clamping spring in one operation. On rivets or other additional connection means can be dispensed with.
  • the clamping spring is usually made of metal, such as a sufficiently resilient steel, and thus can serve as a latching means both latching attachment or securing the equipment as well as the latching attachment of the two housing parts together.
  • the clamping spring about a little less easy to assemble Embodiment, also have a portion which is plastically deformed after assembly of the housing parts to make the connection between the housing parts and secure.
  • the socket can have two or more housing parts. Preferably, it has a base part with a base plate portion, which is arranged on the side remote from the operating means of the socket. This preferably has at least two attachment portions for fixing the socket on a support, such as a lamp board on.
  • the housing part facing the operating means defines with the base part a parting line, which is preferably arranged substantially parallel to the base plate section.
  • the utility-side housing part preferably has a recess which can receive a lamp base, a part thereof or a part of the electrical equipment. In this recess protrude the first portions of the retaining spring to secure the inserted into the recess portion of the operating means or to lock.
  • the recess is bounded, for example, by a wall surrounding a plane surface of the housing part. Does this wall, as may be the case, for example, sockets for halogen lamps, protrude the portions of the retaining spring in front of the respective housing wall area to hold the resources here and keep.
  • the socket on two clamping springs which in turn are preferably arranged opposite each other and formed the same.
  • clamping springs of a single type, which simplifies assembly and storage and cheaper.
  • the second housing part preferably, as well as the first housing part, mounting portions, wherein the mounting portions of the two housing parts preferably rest on each other.
  • a corresponding fastening element such as a rivet or a screw, extends through portions of both housing parts and thus holds them together. This leads to a particularly secure closure of the housing in the assembled state.
  • the second trained as a retaining clip portion of each clamping spring then serves only during transport of the version from the manufacturer to the installation as a temporary backup. This reduces the requirements for the security of the connection, which in turn can be used in terms of construction and assembly to savings.
  • the second, formed as a retaining clip portion of the clamping spring preferably has two legs, one of which is designed as a locking leg and the other as a spring leg.
  • the locking leg extends in an advantageous embodiment in a straight extension of the first portion, which is used for latching attachment of the Operating equipment is used.
  • the second leg extends approximately at right angles therefrom.
  • a latching profile can serve a arranged on the first housing part locking lug, which is arranged for example in a slot of the housing part. In this part, the first leg of the retaining clip is to be inserted.
  • the second leg of the retaining clip preferably also has an attachment opening which is in alignment with the attachment openings of the attachment sections.
  • a fastener e.g., screw or rivet
  • secures the socket to a carrier secures not only the socket on the carrier and the housing parts to one another but also the clamping spring on the housing at the same time.
  • the lamp socket 1 is illustrated, which serves as an example of a socket for an electrical equipment here.
  • the lamp socket 1 is for a discharge lamp, e.g. a fluorescent lamp provided. It has a socket housing 2, which consists of a non-metallic material, such as plastic, if necessary, heat-resistant plastic.
  • the socket housing 2 has on its side facing the lamp a recess 3, which serves to receive a portion of the lamp or its base.
  • the recess 3 is bounded by a wall 4, which is integrally connected to the socket housing 2.
  • the bottom of the recess 3 forms a flat housing front wall 5, in which two connection openings 6, 7 are formed in the form of depressions, the bottom of which has a connection hole.
  • housing interior 8 which can be seen for example in FIG. 2 or 4. From the inside of the bottom of the recesses 6, 7 extend extensions 6a, 7a in the interior 8 and define two contact chambers.
  • the housing interior 8 is delimited by two housing parts 9, 11, which form the socket housing 2 and emerge in particular from FIG.
  • the front housing part 9 has, following the housing front wall 5, a wall 12 which surrounds the housing interior 8 all around. At the side remote from the housing front wall 5, the wall 12 terminates at a preferably substantially flat end face 13.
  • the end face 13 forms a contact surface with which the housing part 9 is seated on a flat front side 14 of the lower housing part 11.
  • two fastening portions 15, 16 extend diametrically opposite each other away, wherein the undersides of the attachment portions 15, 16 with the end face 13 are arranged in a common plane. Their undersides are in the closed socket housing 2, as shown in Figure 4, on the front side 14 of the housing part 11 at. The end face 13 of the housing part 9 dives into the housing interior 8 of the lower housing part 11. The housing parts 9, 11 are so far interlaced with each other.
