  1. Sheet punching and embossing machine including a device for stripping (3) waste out of a punched and embossed sheet (6), wherein the device (3) has a stripping plate (15) for supporting the sheets (6), and the machine including gripper carriages (8) fixed to revolving chains (7) and gripping the sheets (6) at their leading edges and intermittently drawing them through the stripping station (3) and further stations (2, 4) in the machine (1),
    characterized in
    that at least one row of suction openings (22) extending perpendicular to the direction of sheet travel is arranged in the inlet region (21) of the sheets in the stripping plate (15) and upstream of the stripping openings (20), a vacuum being applicable to these suction openings (22) from below.
  2. Sheet punching and embossing machine according to claim 1,
    characterized in
    that two rows of suction openings (22) are arranged in the stripping plate (15) behind one another in the direction of sheet travel.
  3. Sheet punching and embossing machine according to claim 1,
    characterized in
    that at least one suction bar (24), preferably four suction bars, each having several suction openings (22), is provided in the stripping plate (15), perpendicular to the direction of sheet travel, the suction bar (24) being connected to a pressure line (25).
  4. Sheet punching and embossing machine according to claim 3,
    characterized in
    that at least two rows of suction bars (24) are arranged in the stripping plate (15) in the direction of sheet travel.
  5. Sheet punching and embossing machine according to one of claims 1 to 4,
    characterized in
    that at least one respective switchable unit (23) for generating a vacuum, for depressurizing, and for providing a positive pressure, is provided on the underside of the stripping plate (15) in the region of each suction opening (22) or suction bar (24), the unit (23) being connected to the suction opening (22) or suction bar (24) via a line (25).
