Definitions
- the present invention relates to applicators for applying to the a product, especially a care or make-up product, on the skin or skin appendages.
- US Pat. No. 3,958,571 discloses an applicator comprising a tube containing a liquid and an applicator element at one end of the tube. Such an applicator is provided to apply a drug such as an iodine solution.
- US 5,702,035 discloses another applicator comprising a tube containing a liquid and an application element, the liquid being separated from the application element by a silicone plug.
- EP 0 553 534 describes a plurality of applicators each comprising an element and a tube, the tubes being interconnected by a plug common to several applicators, configured to plug each tube at the opposite end to that supporting the application element.
- Some cosmetic products packaged in vials are bi-phasic, comprising an aqueous phase and an oily phase.
- the bottle is agitated to homogenize the composition. He was noted that it remains quite often, at the end of use, one of the two phases in the bottle because agitation is not always satisfactorily performed by users. This results in a loss of product and a change in relative proportions different constituents during use, which may be detrimental to the effectiveness of the product.
- the invention aims to meet all or part of these needs.
- the subject of the invention is, according to one of its aspects, an applicator comprising: as defined in claim 1.
- a third-party component which may be a cork of a liquid or powdery product, either form at least two phases at contact each other.
- the invention allows packaging in the same applicator, in a manner economic, at least two products, intended for example to be mixed extemporaneously or to be applied successively to the skin, including mucous membranes or integuments.
- the invention also allows, in the case of conditioning two at least phases, to stabilize these two phases without the use of surfactant or thickener or at least allow to use a smaller amount.
- the two phases can indeed be kept separate from each other thanks in particular to the capillary forces and surface tension which are exerted with the inner wall of the tube, even if the difference in nature of the two products constituting the phases is relatively low, especially if the two products do not present, for example only a slight difference in density or polarity.
- the invention thus makes it possible, in one of its aspects, to remedy the problem stabilization of a composition comprising several phases, mentioned above.
- one of the products may for example be an aqueous solution and the other an oily solution but, without departing from the scope of the present invention, the two products can both be aqueous or oily solutions or other.
- Both products may contain respective incompatible compounds, that could not be packaged together for a long time, and the presence at least two phases may make it possible to limit the exchange surface between the two products, which can improve the preservation of said compounds.
- the tube may comprise two phases each occupying a respective portion of the length of the tube, with a single interface between the two phases.
- One of the phases can be further dispersed as globules in the other phase, in particular in the form of globules arranged at substantially intervals along the tube, which may be advantageous for aesthetic reasons and / or dosage.
- the tube may have more than two products corresponding to more than two phases, and in particular the tube may comprise a phase in which are dispersed the other phases in the form of globules, each globule corresponding for example to a respective product, these globules may for example be of different colors or contain assets differently dosed, and if necessary of different sizes.
- the invention makes it possible to render a bi-phasic composition or multiphasic stable, without resorting to the usual techniques emulsification or gelling.
- the invention can make it possible to reduce risk of migration or mixing during storage.
- the invention avoids the unsightly appearance of bad demixing.
- the invention can thus make it possible to condition in a stable manner at least a bi- or multi-phase composition that does not incorporate surfactants and to reduce the preservatives, the preservation of the products can be carried out under cover of the air.
- the invention can allow use without prior agitation, with conservation in time of the relative proportions of the different phases.
- An applicator according to the invention may be suitable for a single use.
- Products can be packaged in the applicator in other ways again, which can be combined with the above.
- each tube preferably comprises a plug of a liquid or powder inside.
- the tube may have an internal partition defining two compartments in which the products are respectively contained.
- This partition can extend over the entire length of the tube, being for example made by extrusion of plastic material with the rest of the tube.
- the applicator can contain two products that can be products to be mixed extemporaneously, for example products containing components that can react together to provide new components with limited life, the two components giving rise for example to a reaction such as a reaction of effervescence, chemical or enzymatic hydrolysis, oxidation, this list not being limiting.
- the applicator may include an application element, which may be porous, for example fibrous.
- the application element may be selected from the group consisting of: cotton tip, a foam tip, a felt tip, a flocked tip, a mouthpiece ceramic or sintered material, a stamp, among others.
- the application element can still be a brush, a comb or a brush, to allow an application eyelashes, eyebrows, hair, nails, teeth or gums.
- the element application may have abrasive properties, if any.
