Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for operating a dry urinal with a mechanical odor trap, preferably an elastic membrane closure, and an associated dry urinal.
- DE-A-3712777 describes, for example, a water-flushed urinal having a drain pipe connected to a drainage line via a hydrostatic valve and a flushing device controlled on demand and time, wherein the hydrostatic valve is additionally coupled to a switch which after flushing the valve opens the flushing device triggers.
- the pressure required to actuate the valve is generated by the urine collecting in a vertically arranged drainpipe.
- US-A-4,180,875 describes a water-flushed urinal which is rinsed after each use. Due to a bypass arrangement, however, the rinsing fluid required for rinsing can be reduced by a multiple compared with conventional rinses. Nevertheless, a regular flushing for reasons of hygiene is required.
- dry urinals To avoid high water and wastewater costs, so-called dry urinals have been developed, which are used almost exclusively in the public and semi-public market segment.
- the filled with a barrier liquid odor traps the dry urinals have the disadvantage that associated with the replacement of the barrier liquid also costs and the cleaning of these urinals is problematic.
- the costs for the exchange of barrier liquid are avoided in dry urinals, which have a mechanical odor trap.
- such a mechanical odor trap which has an elastic membrane which is installed in the discharge opening or the discharge line.
- This is a liquid or gas-tight valve performing, preferably made of rubber or Kunststoffersatzstoffen membrane is transferred from a first position in which the flow is liquid or gas-tight, transferred by urine in a second position in which the urine through the valve can drain away.
- the membrane automatically returns to the closed position, so that the discharge line is at least liquid-tight, preferably gas-tight.
- US-A-6,286,153 also describes a dry urinal with a mechanical odor trap provided in the form of a sealing float.
- GB-A-2 137 247 discloses a dry urinal which proposes an odor reducer in the form of a substantially funnel-shaped insert member which is inserted into the drainpipe.
- the narrow funnel end extends to near the surface of the urine collecting in a U-shaped drain tube turn, where the odor intensity is comparatively low. Nevertheless, odors pass through the funnel opening of the insert element, even if their intensity is reduced.
- the invention has for its object to provide a method for operating a dry urinal and an associated urinal, which eliminates the disadvantages described above and can be cleaned in a simple manner at predetermined time intervals.
- the method according to the invention to rinse the Tröckenurinal provided with a mechanical odor trap with rinsing rimless basin by means of an externally controlled rinsing system in predetermined time intervals with rinse water.
- the time interval can be set by the operator. Furthermore, it is possible at any time, preferably during the cleaning of the urinal, to initiate a rinsing process by hand.
- the urinal functions as a dry urinal, but at the same time has an externally controlled flushing system, with which flushing of the urinal and of the subsequent piping system is carried out in time intervals specified by the operator.
- these time intervals without hygiene problems can be chosen to be very long, since the urinal works in the intermediate periods as a dry urinal.
- the control of the flushing system in addition to the interval flushing also have additional functions. These include a hand rinse after cleaning the urinal system by the cleaning staff and / or a dosage of cleaning or fragrances.
- the flushing system can be integrated in a building management system, so that the control of one or more urinals on one and the same control is possible.
- the dry urinal according to the invention has a rinsing rimless basin, which is provided at the lowest point with a drain opening which is liquid-tight or gas-tight connected to a drain line and in which a valve is liquid or gas-tight; the valve is from a first position in which it closes the drainage line fluidly or gas-tight, can be converted by urine into a second position in which the urine can flow through the valve.
- a valve is disclosed for example in EP 1 174 549 A2.

Description
- Fig. 1
- einen Längsschnitt durch das Urinal,
- Fig. 2
- eine perspektivische Rückenansicht des Urinals und
