Definitions

  • the invention relates to a sawtooth wire for a roller assembly of a fiber processing machine, in particular a carding machine, with a tooth base extending in the longitudinal direction of the sawtooth wire and a plurality of teeth arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the sawtooth wire, each of which has a forward angle (chest angle (BW)) inclined tooth face and a tooth back inclined by an angle (back angle (RW)) with respect to the longitudinal direction of the saw tooth wire, the imaginary extension of the tooth face and tooth back converging to form a tooth tip.
  • BW chest angle
  • RW back angle
  • Such sawtooth wires are used for card clothing, carding and the like.
  • the sawtooth wires are wound onto the roller side by side and form a so-called sawtooth wire set, in which the teeth are all oriented in one direction.
  • the roller type e.g. the toothbrush runs ahead of the tambour.
  • the tooth back runs ahead.
  • the transfer between the fast-running tambour and the slow-running customer takes place in that the fibers are pushed from the tambour into the sawtooth wire clothing of the customer.
  • an upset roller is connected to the customer, the fibers are transferred from the customer to the first upset roller in the same way as from the tambour to the customer, but here the tooth back of the teeth of the sawtooth wire set of the customer transfers the fibers to the upset roller.
  • the invention is based, to provide a sawtooth wire with which the transfer of the fibers is improved, in particular for such take-off rollers or upsetting rollers in which the fibers are transferred to a slower-running roller via the tooth back.
  • the inclination angle (back angle (RW)) of the tooth back increases from the tooth base to the tooth tip.
  • RW back angle
  • the tooth back as well as the tooth face are formed in a straight line.
  • the back of the tooth and the tooth face thus converge from the tooth base in a straight line and meet in the tooth tip.
  • the large breast angle in a doffing roller is desirable because when the fibers are taken over, the taking-over roller can take up the fibers better.
  • the solution according to the invention allows the realization of a large breast angle for better transfer of the fibers with a large back angle for better transfer of the fibers to the subsequent slow-running upset roller.
  • the solution according to the invention can be implemented particularly easily if the tooth back has at least one kink.
  • the back of the tooth can thus have a back angle from the tooth base to the kink, which corresponds to a conventional sawtooth. From the kink to the tip, however, the back angle is larger, so that this upper part of the back of the tooth does not meet the tooth breast in the tip of the tooth. It has turned out to be favorable if the kink is at least about 2/3 of the tooth height. However, the range of about 2/3 of the tooth height can be preferred. In this way, a sufficiently high stability of the tooth is achieved with improved functionality when the fibers are transferred to the next roller.
  • the increase in the angle of inclination (from RW1 to RW2) can be at least 10%.
  • the ratio of the two angles of inclination of the tooth back is about 3: 2.
  • the invention has a particularly advantageous effect in the case of sawtooth wires in which the angle of inclination of the tooth face is ⁇ 40 °, preferably ⁇ 45 °.
  • the angle of inclination of the tooth back from the kink to the tooth tip is at least 36 °, preferably at least 40 °.

  • the chest angle is 40 °.
  • the tooth shape shown in FIG. 2 shows that the back angle in the upper region of the teeth 10 is independent of the chest angle BW.
  • This tooth shape enables a large chest angle but also a large back angle to be realized at the same time.
  • the great The large back angle facilitates the transfer of the fibers from a faster-running roller, while the large back angle facilitates the transfer of the fibers to a slower-running roller, because the steeper back flank stuffs the fibers better into the clothing of the subsequent slower-running roller.
