Abstract

The comb/brush/applicator (1) has groups (15, 15') of at least three projecting elements (12a, 12b) spaced at even intervals along a support (11) with gaps (16) between the separate groups. The length of the projecting element can vary between 0.5 and 10 mm and is preferably 1 to 3 mm. The support can be solid or in the form of two twisted wires, and the projecting elements can be in a wide variety of shapes and configurations, made e.g. from moulded plastic or bristles with anti-friction, magnetic or biocidal agents.

Description

The present invention relates to a device for combing keratin fibers such as the eyelashes and / or the eyebrows and / or applying a cosmetic product, in particular mascara, to these.

The present invention also relates to a brush for applying a product, in particular mascara, to the eyelashes and / or the eyebrows.

Different applicators have been proposed in patent applications EP 1 070 465, EP 1 070 466, EP 1 070 467, EP 1 070 468, EP 1 115 303, EP 1 115 304, EP 1 115 305, EP 1 157 629, EP 1 157 632, EP 1 169 941 and FR 2 810 861, the content of which is incorporated into the present application by reference.

GB-A-2 170 996 discloses a brush comprising a notch extending along a helical path around its axis and a brush comprising a succession of notches extending all around the brush. The object of application GB-A-2 170 996 resides in a mascara applicator capable of uniformly applying the mascara to the eyelashes, without the latter sticking to each other.

There is a need to benefit from a device making it possible to achieve still other makeup effects on eyelashes and / or eyebrows, already coated with product or not.

The grouping of the eyelashes can also result from the fact, when the space or spaces 16 are not loaded with product, that the eyelashes or the eyebrows committing to it are brought into contact with each other and to regroup if the product previously applied to them allows. Once the eyelashes are grouped, they become difficult to separate with the combing parts of the comb.

The eyelashes and / or eyebrows may have well separated hairs between the bundles of hairs, as illustrated in FIG. 42.

The amount of product deposited on each package of eyelashes may be uneven, so that some packages may appear longer than others. The eyelash packs can also have different numbers of hairs, so some packs may appear wider or longer than others, as shown in Figure 43.

More particularly, these devices aim to obtain a make-up in which all the eyelashes are grouped in packs, as illustrated in FIG. 50.

Whereas in the examples which have been previously described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 45, zones suitable for separating the eyelashes and zones suitable for grouping them are present, in the examples in FIGS. 46 to 49 the effect of grouping the eyelashes is privileged.

The comb 200 partially shown in FIG. 46 comprises a succession of teeth 201 arranged with a spacing between them sufficiently large so that several eyelashes can engage between these teeth, be coated with the product present between them and be grouped together.
