Definitions
- the invention relates to a pressure relief device for a fuel injection system of internal combustion engines, the fuel injection system being a High pressure fuel pump, a low pressure pump for Pumping fuel from a fuel tank to one Suction side of the high pressure fuel pump, and one Connection initiation, which is a delivery side of the Low pressure pump with the suction side of the high pressure pump connects, has and where the Pressure relief device on the suction side of the High pressure fuel pump is arranged.
- Such a pressure relief device is, for example, from the DE 199 36 287 A1 known. At this Pressure relief device becomes an electrically switchable Actuator on and off controlled and thus allows a regulation of the pressure on the delivery side of the Low-pressure pump. This is in the de-energized state Actuator opened so that there is no impermissibly high Fuel pressure after switching off the internal combustion engine can form in the fuel injection system.
- the invention is based on the object, another to provide an improved pressure relief device, which is simple and the operating behavior of the Internal combustion engine improved.
- This task is done with a pressure relief device for an injection system of internal combustion engines, the Injection system a high pressure fuel pump, one Low pressure pump to deliver fuel from one Fuel tank to a suction side of the High-pressure fuel pump and a connecting line, which is a delivery side of the low pressure pump with the The suction side of the high-pressure pump connects, and has the pressure relief device on the suction side of the High pressure fuel pump is arranged, thereby solved that the pressure relief device as hydraulic controlled pressure relief valve is executed, and that as control pressure the pressure on the front of the Low pressure pump serves.
- this pressure relief device becomes the electronic control unit of the Fuel injection system relieved as the Pressure relief device works hydraulically. Moreover it is with the invention Pressure relief device possible, a pressure maintenance in the High pressure area of the fuel injection system also at shutdown engine to maintain what a subsequent restart of the Internal combustion engine relieved.
- Pressure relief valve is a housing with a stepped Hole has that in the stepped hole Is stepped piston sealing that an annular surface of the Step piston and the stepped bore an annulus limit that this annulus with the pressure on the Delivery side of the low pressure pump is acted on that the stepped piston is spring-loaded with a first end face and against that of the annulus on the step piston applied hydraulic force against a sealing seat is pressed, and that through the sealing seat hydraulic connection between the suction side of the High pressure fuel pump and a fuel return is interruptible.
- the Internal combustion engine ensures that on the front the low pressure pump no impermissibly high pressures occur. Such pressures can occur, for example, if a fuel line is kinked or clogged.
- the pressure relief device opens and gives a connection between the suction side of the High pressure fuel pump and fuel return free, so that there is a decrease in pressure.
- the stepped piston counteracts a spring force opened and thus allows a pressure reduction on the Suction side of the high pressure fuel pump and consequently in the entire high-pressure area of the fuel injection system. This can destroy the fuel injection system by overpressures, such as in push mode or after the shutdown of the internal combustion engine at operating temperature can occur can be prevented.
- the pressure relief device according to the invention simple and space-saving and inexpensive produced.
- the pressure relief valve has a housing with a stepped hole has that in the stepped hole a stepped piston is guided that an annular surface of the Step piston and the stepped bore an annulus limit that this annulus with the pressure on the Delivery side of the low pressure pump is acted on that the stepped piston is spring-loaded with a first end face and against that of the annulus on the step piston applied hydraulic force against a sealing seat is pressed, and that through the sealing seat hydraulic connection between the suction side of the High pressure fuel pump and the annulus interruptible is.
- control line from the delivery side of the low pressure pump branches off the connecting line, and that the control line opens into the annulus of the pressure relief valve, and / or that in the control line a first choke is provided so that through the control line flowing fuel quantity is limited.
- a second throttle can be provided.
- a check valve in the Connection line arranged downstream of the junction Control line and upstream of the junction of the Pressure compensation line arranged.
- a fuel filter can be arranged in the Connecting line.
- Fuel at least one jet pump to fill one Baffle is filled in the fuel tank.
- Alternative embodiments of the invention provide that the sealing seat one with the first face of the Has stepped piston cooperating sealing edge, or that the first face of the stepped piston is frustoconical, and that the sealing seat is also frustoconical.
- FIG. 1 is a first embodiment Injection system according to the invention as a block diagram shown.
- a high-pressure fuel pump has one Suction side 3 and a pressure side 5. On the pressure side are on the high-pressure fuel pump 1 a common rail 7 and several injectors 9 connected.
- a pressure sensor 11 At Common Rail 7 is a pressure sensor 11 and a pressure control or Pressure relief valve 13 arranged. From the pressure control valve 13 leads a connecting line 15 to the suction side of the High pressure fuel pump 1. Alternatively, the Connection line 15 also open into a tank 17. about a leakage line 19 is the amount of leakage High-pressure fuel pump 1 also in tank 17 dissipated.
- a low-pressure pump 21 is arranged in the tank 17.
- the Low-pressure pump 21 can, for example, be controlled as required electric fuel pump.
- the Low pressure pump 21 sucks fuel (not shown) from the fuel tank 17 and promotes it in a Connection line 23.
- the connection line 23 connects a delivery side 25 of the low pressure pump 21 with the Intake side 3 of the high-pressure fuel pump 1.
- a check valve 27 In the Connection line 23 are a check valve 27 and a Fuel filter 29 arranged.
- Upstream of the Check valve 27 branches a control line 31 to one Pressure relief valve 32 from.
- the pressure relief valve 33 consists of a housing 35 with a stepped Inner bore 37 in which a stepped piston 39 seals is.
- the stepped piston 39 and the housing 35 form one annular annular space 41 in which the control line 31 empties.
- a sealing seat 45 On its first face 43 Step piston in the position shown in Figure 1 a sealing seat 45, which is part of the housing 35.
- the Sealing seat 45 has the shape of a circle.
- the sealing seat 45 divides the first end face 43 of the stepped piston 39 into an inner surface 47 and an annular outer surface 49.
- a compression spring 53 presses the stepped piston 39 against the sealing seat 45 for as long as the hydraulic forces the pressure forces of the fuel in the Annulus 41 and the inner surface 47 of the first Front surface 43 acting hydraulic forces less than the pressing force of the compression spring 53.
- a leakage discharge 57 from the housing 35 of the Pressure relief valve 33 may allow removal occurring leaks. It has proven to be beneficial made when the pressure relief valve 33 on the Top of the tank 17 is installed because then the Leakage without additional pipe directly through the Leakage discharge 57 can be returned to the tank 17.
- FIG. 1 An alternative embodiment of the invention Pressure relief valve 33 is shown in Figure 2. The same components are provided with the same reference symbols and what has been said regarding FIG. 1 applies accordingly.
- This embodiment is the same as that Embodiment according to Figure 1 from a leakage discharge 57 the housing 35 of the pressure relief valve 33 is provided.
- a channel 59 can also be used corresponding hole (not shown) in the stepped piston 39 or a groove (not shown) in the stepped piston 39 be provided.
