Definitions

  • the invention relates to a collecting device for forming and dispensing a bundle of sheet-like objects such as banknotes, check forms and the like, which are fed to the collecting device individually from an upstream transport device.
  • banknotes requested by a customer after removal from the banknote cassettes by means of a so-called stubble wheel on a storage surface, so that they can be issued in the form of a bundle to the customer.
  • stacker wheels have circumferentially curved elastic fingers that form a pocket for receiving a banknote with the respectively adjacent finger.
  • the banknotes to be collected are conveyed at high speed in each case into a pocket of the rotating stub wheel and, after a partial rotation thereof, are stripped off again from the respective pocket.
  • Such a collecting device requires a relatively large amount of space, because the diameter of the stacker wheels can not be made arbitrarily small because of the predetermined size of the banknotes.
  • Devices such as banknote input / output devices should be able to fulfill more and more functions on the one hand, but on the other hand, their space requirement should not grow. This creates the need to constantly reduce the space requirements of the individual units that make up such a device.
  • US 4,320,854 discloses a bill collection device in which the bills are fed individually via a sheet transport to a collection device having a disengageable blade stop which serves as a stop for the bills transported by bundle transport.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a collecting device of the type mentioned, which allows bundling of sheet-shaped objects in a small footprint.
  • a guide surface for the leaves one of the guide surface associated sheet transport for transporting the sheets along the guide surface up to a disengageable sheet stop, a bundle transport with the transport direction of sheet transport parallel transport direction, a sheet sensor close the sheet transport in response to signals of the sheet sensor, which represent the leading edge and the trailing edge of the respective incoming sheet is controlled so that the respective subsequent sheet at Enema enters the collection device with its leading edge against the surface of each immediately preceding sheet and then along with this in the direction of the sheet tanschlag is transported.
  • the solution according to the invention ensures that the successive sheets are reliably pushed one over the other in bundling formation and do not butt against each other edge to edge.
  • This makes it possible to push the sheets to be stacked flat over each other, so that the collecting device according to the invention in the stacking direction, ie perpendicular to the sheet surface requires only a small dimension, in contrast to stacking devices using the stacker wheels.
  • the guide surface is one parallel to it and perpendicular to the transport direction of the sheet transport axis at least slightly convex curved. Due to the curvature of the sheets receive a certain rigidity, so that even used and often quite soft banknotes get a certain rigidity in the investment on the guide surface.
  • the sheet transport has at least one endless drivable by a transport motor belt, which abuts with a strand on the guide surface, wherein the belt is for example a flat belt and at least approximately in the longitudinal center of the guide surface. Even if the sheets are thus supported only in a central longitudinal region of the flat belt, they can not lift off in the edge regions of the guide surface due to their curvature, for example, hang down when the bundling takes place on a downwardly facing guide surface.
  • the arrangement of a single conveyor belt in the longitudinal center of the guide surface has the additional advantage that the bills are reliably detected in this area, because banknotes to be transported in this area are usually smooth and undamaged, while in the edge areas often cracks or bent corners can disturb the transport.
  • the bundle transport may be formed as a belt transport with at least one by a recess of the guide surface engaging and intended for cooperation with the belt of the sheet transport belt.
  • the bundling is done solely by means of the guide surface and the sheet transport, while the bundle formed by the Interaction of bundle transport and sheet transport is further transported to the output.
  • the belt of the bundle transport can be driven by the transport motor of the sheet transport, wherein it is deflectable by at least one switchable pressure element in the direction of sheet transport. This ensures an absolutely synchronous drive of sheet transport and bundle transport. At the same time is achieved in a simple manner that the belts of the sheet transport and the bundle transport abut the opposite sides of the sheet bundle to transport the latter.
  • the collecting device according to the invention is arranged in a processing device for sheet-like objects, for example a module for receiving or paying out banknotes, check forms and the like, it may be expedient if the collecting device is arranged transversely to the transport direction displaceable in this processing unit, for example sheets that were aligned along a certain edge in the context of the processing operation to move laterally in the transfer to one of the collection unit following unit and thus adapt to the transport distance of this unit can.
  • the ATM contains a safe for holding notes of value, in particular banknotes.
  • the module contains a first transport route for collection and possibly also for the return of bills or billets.
  • the bills are separated in a separating device and fed to an alignment device in which they are along be aligned parallel to the transport direction edge. From the alignment station, the bills are forwarded to a reader and a bill validator.
  • the bills collected in the buffer are collected in a collecting device 32, which will be explained in more detail below with reference to Figures 2 to 4, again to a bundle, which is then returned to the customer closed via the input / output unit. If, on the other hand, all bills are in order, then they are successively introduced via a third transport path 34 through an opening 36 in the ceiling of the vault in this and handed over from there in a conventional manner cassettes for storage.
  • the units are extremely tightly packed in the module described, so that there is no room for a conventional collection device using stacker wheels.
  • the inventive, extremely flat collecting device 32 will now be explained in more detail with reference to Figures 2 to 4.
  • the generally designated 32 collecting device has a frame 38 with side walls 40, 42, between which a plate 44 is located, which is one to the side walls 40, 42 vertical axis of curvature to form a convex guide surface 46 is curved.
  • a generally designated 48 sheet or collective transport includes a transport motor 50 which is attached to the front in Figure 2 - side wall 42, and an endless flat belt 52 which wraps around a connected to the shaft 54 of the transport motor 50 drive roller 56 and a motor near the first guide pulley 58, an am Input end of the collecting device 32 arranged deflection roller 60, along the guide surface 46, about a arranged at the output end of the collecting device 32 deflection roller 62 and a motor near the other guide roller 64 is guided. Due to the fact that the guide surface 46 is convex, the upper run of the flat belt 52 bears against the guide surface 46 over its entire surface. As can be seen in FIG. 2, the flat belt 52 runs parallel to the transport direction indicated by the arrow A in FIG. 2 along the longitudinal center line of the guide surface 46.
  • the plate 44 Towards the discharge end of the collecting device 32, the plate 44 has two strip-shaped extensions 66 separated by a recess 65, from each of which an edge flange 68 projects upwards, with which the plate 44 is fastened to the side walls 40 and 42.
  • a bundle or output transport 70 is arranged, which is also designed as a belt transport. It comprises two spaced-apart endless belts 72 which are stretched respectively around the drive rollers 74 remote from the delivery end and the deflection rollers 76 near the discharge end. The latter are mounted by means of a shaft 78 on the extensions 66 of the plate 44 so that they are in the Recess 65 between the two extensions 66 lie.
  • the drive rollers 74 are seated on a drive shaft 80, which is rotatably mounted in the side walls 40, 42 and is connected to the observer facing outside of the side wall 42 with a gear 82.
  • This gear 82 is in engagement with a gear 83 which sits on a shaft 80 parallel to the shaft 84 which carries a toothed belt pulley 86 on the outside of the side wall 42.
  • This is driven by a toothed belt 88, which is guided over deflection rollers 90, by a non-rotatable with the motor shaft 54 toothed belt pulley 92 ago.
  • the flat belt 52 of the sheet transport 48 and the belt 72 of the bundle transport 70 can be driven synchronously, but in opposite directions.
  • a blade stop 96 is fixed, which is pivotable about the axis thereof by means of the actuating shaft 94.
  • the control shaft is connected to the outside of the side wall 42 with a lever 98. This protrudes with an extension through the adjacent edge flange 68 and can be pivoted by a formed on a control shaft 100 control cam 102, so that connected to the actuating shaft 94 sheet stop 96 between a first position in which it rests according to Figure 3 on the guide surface 46 , and a second position can be pivoted in which it is lifted from the guide surface 46.
  • the control shaft 100 extends between the edge flanges 68 and is driven via a drive belt 104 by a control motor 106 attached to the side wall 42.
  • a control motor 106 attached to the side wall 42.
  • pinch rollers 108 are mounted, which can be pressed by cam, not shown on the control shaft 100 against the inside of the lower run of the respective endless belt 72, so that the respective lower run is pressed down.
  • the endless belts 72 of the bundle transport 70 can be brought into contact with the uppermost sheet of a bundle of sheets, which bears against the guide surface 46.
  • the pressure rollers 108 can be lifted again from the endless belt 72 so that they form a straight line between the rollers 74 and 76 due to their tension and thus out of contact with the on the guide surface 46th adjacent bill bundles are.
  • the motors 50 and 106 can each be connected via a plug 110 and corresponding lines with a control device, not shown.
  • the entire collection device 32 is mounted within the module so that it is displaceable perpendicular to the side walls 40 and 42 by a few millimeters, so as to optimally transfer bills from the upstream third transport path on the collecting device 32 on the one hand and from this to the subsequent first Transport route on the other hand, which also serves as a delivery route to be able to guarantee.
  • the bills entered by a customer into the module are to be returned to the customer, the bills will be retrieved one by one from the winding store or second transport path introduced into the collecting device 32.
  • the immediately following upstream of the collecting device 32 subsequent part of the second transport path is indicated on the left side of Figure 3. It protrudes in the path of a light barrier 112, which forms a sheet sensor.
  • a switch 114 is set in such a way that the individual sheets coming from the second transport path enter the gap 116 between the plate 44 and the deflection roller 60.
  • the first sheet B1 enters the path of the light barrier 112, it is detected here and transported by the second transport device into the gap 116, whereupon it is advanced synchronously by the second transport device and the bluff transport 48 until the light barrier 112 recognizes the end of the sheet. Subsequently, the sheet is transported by the sheet transport 48, for example 15mm further. The sheet transport 48 stops. In this position, the trailing end of the sheet still protrudes from the gap 116, as can be seen in Figure 4.
  • the subsequent sheet B2 is detected by the light barrier 112, it is also advanced with its leading end in the direction of the gap 116, and then like the first sheet B1 transported synchronously by the second transport device and the sheet transport 48. At this time, the succeeding sheet B2 is surely pushed under the previous sheet.
  • the common transport of the two sheets takes place until the second sheet with its trailing end has passed the light barrier 112 and has been transported by a small distance, for example the abovementioned 15 mm.
  • the same process takes place on each additional sheet. All leaves are advanced in a shingled arrangement until they are against the Blade stop 96 abut, as shown for the sheet B0, and be aligned by this edge.
  • the last sheet is also transported forward until the front edge abuts against the sheet stop 96. Subsequently, the belt 72 of the bundle transport 70 are pressed by the control motor 106 via the actuation of the control shaft 100 and the pinch rollers 108 to the bundle and the sheet stopper 96 is pivoted into its release position.
  • the bundle transport 70 and the sheet transport 48 By common drive of the bundle transport 70 and the sheet transport 48, the bundle lying between the belts 52 and 72 in FIG. 3 is transferred to the right to the subsequent first transport path, which now serves as the output transport path.
  • the sheet stopper 96 and the belts 72 are again switched to their initial position.
