Definitions
- the invention relates to a calender with a roll stack from at least two rollers, two each Roll a nip between them, through the one Web is guided, and with a web break monitoring device.
- Such a calender is known from DE-PS 603 098.
- the web break monitoring device is formed with brushes, which form electrical contacts. If the web tears, the brushes come to rest against the steel rollers and close a circuit. This signal is used to stop the calender.
- the invention is based on a calender for the treatment of a paper web or a comparable one Bru described. In principle, however, it is can also be used on other railways.
- a paper web is passed through in the course of its manufacture at least one calender and there with one increased pressure and possibly also with an increased Temperature applied.
- the calender has one the task of compacting the paper web. Usually but you also want to improve the calender Achieve surface properties, especially one increased smoothness and / or increased gloss.
- Calenders often consist of a combination of soft and hard rollers, usually a soft one Roller and a hard roller limit a nip through which the paper web is guided.
- the soft rollers have a covering made of a plastic, which is softer than the surface of the other, the nip delimiting hard roller, which is usually made of steel or cast is formed.
- the paper web is an almost endless web through the Led calender. However, it does happen from time to time before the paper web breaks. This web break can different positions, so also relative far ahead of the calender. In this case, it flutters long end of the web still to be pulled through the calender very strong and so that it folds, i.e. two or overlapping several times. If one like that thickened paper web runs through the calender, then it leaves marks on the plastic coverings of the soft rollers, also called “elastic rollers" be designated. These coverings must then be expensive be re-ground or even replaced.
- the invention has for its object in a crack to rule out the markings on the rollers as far as possible.
- This task is performed on a calender of the type mentioned at the beginning Art solved in that before the first nip a Web catching device is arranged depending from a signal from the web break monitoring device upstream of the calender holds the incoming web.
- the web catching device is preferably provided with a Combined web cutting device. This protects the calender. Shortly after holding the web or at the same time the web cutting device thus comes into action and cuts the web behind the web catching device. A sudden increase in tensile load that is This could affect the calender.
- the web catching device has a pair of Clamping bars on from an open state when which the web through a gap between the clamp beams is guided, can be moved together.
- the clamp bars will in other words when a web break signal occurs web break monitoring device upstream of the calender suddenly pulled together and clamped Web across its entire width. This is a relative one easy way to get the web with the one you want To record reliability. You can do that accept that the clamping force does not extend over the entire Web width is uniform. It is enough if the web as a whole is held in front of the calender, so that only a short end of the web through the calender can walk through.
- the clamping bars preferably have a wear layer on their sides facing each other.
- This friction may lead to a certain material removal. If you provide a wear layer, then can such material removal in Take purchase. But above all you can see the surface properties then optimize the wear layer, that they have a good frictional connection with the web.
- At least one Clamping bar too pivotable on the other has two advantages. For one let relatively high forces are exerted here if you have one Lever that serves for pivoting is dimensioned accordingly. The clamping bars therefore perform a kind of pliers movement out. On the other hand, there is a swiveling movement execute at a relatively high speed, so that the web seized relatively quickly and can be held.
- the web catching device preferably has a protective shield arrangement.
- the protective shield arrangement serves to prevent the rest of the part of the web held by the web catching device from running into other nips of the calender. As a rule, it can be assumed that even if the web is held in the web catching device, due to its inertia, the part will still move towards the calender up to the original tear. It is particularly preferred here that the protective shield arrangement has guide plates or blowing nozzles. Both are ways to create mechanical protection for the calender.
- the web catching device is advantageously one Rotatable axis that is parallel to the axes of the rollers lies.
- a calender 1 has a plurality of rolls 2-5, which between Nips 6-8 form through which a paper web 9 is led to there with increased pressure and possibly to be exposed to elevated temperatures.
- the web 9 is over between the individual nips Deflection rollers 10, 11 out.
- Behind the calender is 1 a winding station 12 is provided in which the paper web 9 is wound on a winding roll 13.
- a drive 14 is shown.
- the drive 14 can also in other ways on the winding roller 13th act, for example over their scope.
- the rollers 2, 4 are elastic or soft rollers, i.e. they show one Cover 15, 16 made of a plastic that is softer than the surface of the "hard” rollers 3, 5 that are made of Steel or cast iron are formed.
- the paper web runs through undisturbed, normal operation 9 the nips 6-8 of the calender 1 and is then wound up, i.e. there is a certain train going on the paper web 9 acts.
- the train can also be applied by other means be driven, for example, by driven calender rolls.
- the paper web is continuously monitored by several sensors 17-19 monitored.
- the sensors 17-19 can, for example be designed as photocells over the entire length of paper machine are arranged distributed.
- the sensors 17-19 determine whether the paper web 9 is running properly or whether it may be cracked is.
- the sensors 17-19 may form together with evaluation and amplification electronics, not shown one upstream of the calender Brurißüberwachungs worn. In the calender is common another web break monitoring device provided, but for the present invention is not discussed further.
- the web catching device 20 Shortly before the first nip 6 of the calender 1 is one Web catching device 20 arranged.
- the web catching device 20 has a pair of clamping bars 21, 22 which in undisturbed operation with a gap or a gap 23 are arranged to each other. Runs through the gap 23 the paper web 9.
- the clamping bars 21, 22 On their mutually facing sides the clamping bars 21, 22 have a wear layer 24, 25, which additionally have the highest possible coefficient of friction should have with the paper web 9.
- the lower clamping bar 22 is stationary in the Chair of the calender 1 arranged in more detail.
- the upper clamping bar 21 is on a lever 26 suspended from a hinge point 27 with the chair of the calender is connected.
- the lever 26 has a drive 28 with which the clamping bar 21 the clamping bar 22 can be pivoted.
- a knife blade 29 is arranged at the same time can be moved with the clamping bar 21. It is but also possible, the knife blade 29 delayed to move to the clamping bar 21.
- the drive 28 immediately takes action and pivots the upper clamping bar 21 onto the lower one Clamping bar 22 too. This movement can be done very quickly. The two clamping bars clamp the web abruptly across its entire width.
- a residue 9a remains between the original crack 30 and the web catching device 20. This remainder 9a, more precisely said its beginning will be reliable in the web catching device 20 captured. He will be more or less abruptly braked so that it does not get into the nips 6-8 of the calender can occur.
- the rest 9a has a certain inertia, so that under certain circumstances, due to its own momentum still move to the web catching device 20 and can accumulate there.
- the baffles 31st and / or blowing nozzles 32 are another Protective shield arrangement provided. Form the baffles just a wall that further advance the rest 9a of the paper web 9 to the nips 6-8 of the calender 1 prevent. With the blow nozzles 32 one can do this accordingly generate directed air curtain, which in Basically has the same purpose.
- the web catching device can be used 20 also make it rotatable about an axis, which is parallel to the axes 33 of the rollers 2-5.
- the Web catching device can then be used under certain circumstances will wind up the rest 9a of the paper web 9.
- the paper web held in the web catching device 20 9, more precisely the part 9a between the Original tear 30 and the web catching device 20, leaves just throw it away. Since this rest 9a at least with a part, namely its beginning, a defined position has, you can even automatic Use gripping tools.
- a Web break signal the nips 6-8 of the calender 1 not to open immediately, as has been the case up to now, but to wait until the web 9 with the through Web catcher 20 produced end through the nips passed through and only then separated the rollers, to burn when using heating rollers to avoid the elastic rollers.
