Im einzelnen erfolgt die Bestückung so, daß sich die Platte zunächst in einer vertikalen Position befindet, wobei die klebende Seite des Filmstreifens in Richtung der mit einem Griff zu versehenen Ware zeigt. Die auf der Fördereinrichtung geführte Ware stößt gegen das klebende Ende des Filmstreifens, wodurch dieses an der Verpackung der Ware fixiert wird. Im Anschluß daran dreht sich die Platte in eine horizontale Position. Die Ware wird je nach Breite der Verpackung weiter auf dem Förderband geführt, um einen zur Bildung des Tragegriffs ausreichend langen Filmstreifen abzuziehen. Eine Berührung ist jedoch nicht erforderlich. Der Arm 4d des das Gegenelement bildenden Rotationselements 10 verläuft in der in Figur 1c dargestellten Position im wesentlichen parallel zu dem Filmstreifenmaterial 5, welches von der nicht dargestellten Rolle abgezogen wird. Diese Positionierung bewirkt, wie in Figur 1d erkennbar ist, daß in Folge der weiteren Rotationsbewegung der beiden Rotationselemente 3 und 10 der Arm 4d des Rotationselements 10 auf das Filmstreifenmaterial 5 drückt und somit hilft, dieses aus dem zuführenden Mittel 6 zu ziehen. In dieser Darstellung wird auch die Funktion des als Gegenelement wirkenden Rotationselements 10 ersichtlich. Dieses führt dazu, daß das Filmstreifenmaterial 5 durch den durch seinen Arm 4d ausgeübten Druck in die Kontur der Beuge 15, die zwischen den Armen 4a und 4c ausgebildet wird, gepreßt wird. Wie ferner in Figur 1d ersichtlich ist, wird durch die Rotationsbewegung des Rotationselements 3 der den Tragegriff bildende Abschnitt des Filmstreifenmaterials 5, der in der zwischen den Armen 1a und 1b ausgebildeten Beuge 15 liegt, über die Ware 1b auf die dem ersten Ende 12 gegenüberliegende Seite der Ware 1c geführt.FIG. 1c shows in particular the positioning of the filmstrip material 5 leading rotation element 3 to the one forming the counter element Rotational element 10 recognizable. Dadurch wird das Filmstreifenmaterial 5 der Kontur der Beuge 15 angepaßt, da durch den, durch den Arm 4d ausgeübten Druck soviel Filmstreifenmaterial 5 abgewickelt wird, wie notwendig ist, um entlang der Kontur der Beuge 15 geführt zu werden. Dies bewirkt, daß die Länge des später gebildeten Tragegriffs 2 bereits an dieser Stelle vorgegeben wird, also im wesentlichen vorkonfektioniert wird. Die Positionierung des Filmstreifens 5 in der Beuge 15 kann unterstützt werden, beispielsweise durch Vakuum, elektrostatische Anziehung oder klemmende Mittel, um zu verhindern, daß das Filmstreifenmaterial wieder aus der Beuge herausrutscht. Die Bestimmung der Länge des Tragegriffs erfolgt somit in vorteilhafter Weise völlig unabhängig vom Kontakt mit der Ware, so daß keine Abstimmungsschwierigkeiten oder Fehler auftreten. Dadurch wird gewährleistet, daß die Griffmulde 18 immer ausreichend groß ist, um von einer Hand unterfaßt zu werden. Figure 1e shows the completion of an operation of the device. Claims (13)

  1. Apparatus for automatically applying a carrying handle (2) to an article (1a, 1b, 1c) including
    means for supplying the article,
    means for supplying a film strip material (5) acting as the carrying handle,
    a first rotation element (3)
    whereby the film strip material (5) is so guided over the first rotation element (3) that the article is provided, by rotation of the rotation element (3), with a respective end of the film strip material on opposing sides, characterised in that the first rotation element (3) has at least three arms.
  2. Apparatus as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the angular spacing of the arms of the first rotation element (3) is the same.
  3. Apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that it includes means for matching the film strip material (2) to the angular geometry between the arms of the first rotation element (3).
  4. Apparatus as claimed in Claim 3, characterised in that it includes a counter-element (10) which matches the film strip material to the angular geometry between the arms of the first rotation element (3).
  5. Apparatus as claimed in Claim 4, characterised in that it includes a second rotation element (10), which constitutes the counter-element and has the same number of arms as the rotation element guiding the film strip material.
  6. Apparatus as claimed in Claim 5, characterised in that the second rotation element (10), which acts as the counter-element, and the first rotation element (3), which guides the film strip material, rotate in synchronism and in opposite directions.
  7. Apparatus as claimed in one or more of Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that it includes at least one severing means (7) for cutting the film strip material.
  8. Apparatus as claimed in Claim 7, characterised in that the at least one severing means is fixedly arranged, whereby the first rotation element (3), which guides the film strip, and the severing means (7) are so arranged with respect to one another that the film strip guided over the first rotation element (3) is cut when the rotating first rotation element (3) is moved past the fixed severing means (7).
  9. Apparatus as claimed in one or more of Claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the first rotation element (3), which guides the film strip, includes a guide element, which is arranged on the ends of its arms (4a, 4b, 4c) spaced from the arms and over which the film strip is guided.
  10. Apparatus as claimed in one or more of Claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the length of the arms of the first rotation element (3) is variable.
  11. Apparatus as claimed in Claim 10, characterised in that the arms (4a, 4b, 4c) are telescopically extendable.
  12. Apparatus as claimed in one or more of Claims 1 to 11, characterised in that the arms are arranged on a rotary body (11), whose periphery may be enlarged.
  13. Apparatus as claimed in one or more of Claims 1 to 12, characterised in that the arms may be separably arranged on the rotary body (11).
