Applicant's metal forms are stronger and may be joined together by automatic devices, such as pneumatic guns so that 20 to 30 percent less metal is used in building a structure. Further, the combination of at least one reinforcing rib 26 and/or at least one strength indent 28 in combination with the reinforcing ridge 10 of the present invention results in a significantly stronger metal form. This is true no matter what gauge material is used, i.e. 16, 18, and 20 gauge or the like. In the construction industry for example, the construction of a truss includes tension web and compression web members.
  • Applicant's invention results in a rigid web member which is much better able to resist compression. Therefore, Applicant's invention results in a reduction of the number of compression web members required in the construction of a truss.

Claims (18)

  1. Longueur de matériau rigide en feuilles (12) formée selon une configuration rectangulaire, de telle sorte que cela crée un élément rigide pour des constructions en treillis, ledit matériau en feuilles présentant

    un prolongement court (14) relié au dit premier bord ;
    un prolongement long (18) plus long que ledit prolongement court (14), et relié au dit second bord et fléchi pour former une fente de blocage (22) recevant et retenant ladite section courte,
    caractérisée en ce que :
    ledit matériau en feuilles comprend en outre au moins un clou ou une vis passant à travers et reliant ainsi les troisième et quatrième côtés de la configuration rectangulaire, qui s'étendent tous les deux entre lesdits premier et deuxième côtés.
  2. Invention selon la revendication 1, comprenant en outre des faces avant et arrière sur lesdits prolongements court (14) et long (18), et dans laquelle ladite face avant à prolongement long est fléchie pour recouvrir généralement ladite face frontale à prolongement court et pour recouvrir en partie ladite face arrière à prolongement court.
  3. Invention selon la revendication 2, dans laquelle ledit prolongement long (18) est approximativement deux fois plus long que ladite section courte et ledit prolongement long (18) recouvre généralement toute la face avant dudit prolongement court (14) et approximativement la moitié de la face arrière dudit prolongement court (14).
  4. Invention selon la revendication 1, comprenant deux nervures de renforcement (26) dans le deuxième côté faisant face à ladite arête de renforcement (10).
  5. Invention selon la revendication 1, comprenant en outre au moins une incision de résistance (28) dans un côté adjacent à ladite arête de renforcement (10).
  6. Invention selon la revendication 5, comprenant deux incisions de résistance (28), une incision de résistance dans chaque côté adjacent à ladite arête de renforcement (10).
  7. Invention selon la revendication 5, comprenant deux incisions de résistance (28) dans chaque côté adjacent à ladite arête de renforcement (10).
  8. Invention selon la revendication 5, comprenant une paire de nervures de renforcement (26) dans le deuxième côté faisant face à ladite arête de renforcement (10).
  9. Invention selon la revendication 5, comprenant une paire de nervures de renforcement (26) dans le deuxième côté faisant face à ladite arête de renforcement (10) et une paire d'incisions de résistance (28), une incision de résistance dans chaque côté adjacent à ladite arête de renforcement (10).

  11. Invention selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle ledit matériau rigide est un matériau en feuilles.
  12. Procédé de formation d'une longueur de matériau rigide selon la revendication 1, comprenant les étapes de:
    formation d'un matériau rigide en feuilles (12) avec des premier et second bords non joints (16, 20) selon une configuration rectangulaire pour créer un élément rigide destiné à des constructions en treillis ;
    formation d'un prolongement court (14) dans ledit premier bord non joint ;
    formation d'un prolongement long (18) plus long que ledit prolongement court (14) dans ledit second bord non joint ;
    assemblage desdits premier et second bords non joints (16, 20) et fléchissement dudit prolongement long (18) au-dessus dudit prolongement court (14) pour former une rainure de blocage de raccordement (22), de sorte que lesdits premier et second bords non joints se rejoignent et forment une arête de renforcement (10) dans un premier côté de ladite configuration rectangulaire ;
    formation d'au moins une nervure de renforcement (26) dans un deuxième côté faisant face à ladite arête de renforcement (10) ; et
    caractérisé par :
    le passage d'au moins un clou ou une vis à travers les troisième et quatrième côtés de la configuration rectangulaire, qui s'étendent tous les deux entre lesdits premier et deuxième côtés, de telle sorte que lesdits troisième et quatrième côtés sont reliés par ledit clou ou ladite vis.
  13. Procédé selon la revendication 12, comprenant en outre les étapes de formation desdits prolongements court et long (14, 18) avec les faces avant et arrière, de sorte que, lorsque lesdits bords non joints sont réunis, la face avant dudit prolongement long (18) recouvre généralement la face avant dudit prolongement court (14) et recouvre en partie la face arrière dudit prolongement court (14).
  14. Procédé selon la revendication 13, comprenant en outre l'étape de formation dudit prolongement long (18), de sorte qu'il est approximativement deux fois plus long que ledit prolongement court (14) et recouvre généralement la face avant dudit prolongement court (14) et approximativement une moitié de la face arrière dudit prolongement court (14), lorsque lesdits bords non joints sont rassemblés.
  15. Procédé selon la revendication 12, comprenant l'étape de formation de deux nervures de renforcement (26) dans le deuxième côté faisant face à ladite arête de renforcement (10).
  16. Procédé selon la revendication 12, comprenant en outre l'étape de formation d'au moins une incision de résistance (28) dans un côté adjacent à ladite arête de renforcement (10).
  17. Procédé selon la revendication 16, comprenant l'étape de formation d'une paire d'incisions de résistance (28), une dans chaque côté adjacent de ladite arête de renforcement (10).
  18. Procédé selon la revendication 16, comprenant l'étape de formation de deux paires d'incisions de résistance (28), une paire dans chaque côté adjacent à ladite arête de renforcement (10).
