Definitions

  • the invention relates to a catalytic gas combustion device for a personal device Need, especially hair styling device, such as hair curlers or hair dryers the preamble of claim 1.
  • hair styling device such as hair curlers or hair dryers the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a catalytic gas combustion device is known from document US 5 394 862 A.
  • Such catalytic gas combustion devices are used in personal devices Used as needed to generate thermal energy with gas without electricity.
  • Such a thing Device is, for example, by the applicant itself under the name HS3 Plus sold as "Braun Style Shaper".
  • the ignition device from a piezo igniter with two ignition electrodes arranged next to one another consists. These ignition electrodes are in the chamber surrounding the catalyst arranged.
  • the gas supply is first via a on the gas supply device arranged valve device opened mechanically. Gas flows with mixing with air through the gas supply device and enters the space of the catalyst. Since the catalyst consists of a tubular sieve part, the gas-air mixture also get into the chamber, where it is distributed and thus flows around the ignition electrodes. Now the piezo igniter is ignited by hand and sparks jump from one to the other electrode, which cause the gas-air mixture to ignite in the chamber and thus initiates the catalytic combustion process on the catalyst. To the Initiating the ignition process must elapse a certain amount of time before this Gas-air mixture has reached the electrodes. Only then is it possible to do that Explosion of gas-air mixture.
  • the object of the invention is now a catalytic gas combustion device for a device to create the domestic needs, in particular gas curier or hair dryer, at the shortly after opening the gas supply, just by initiating the ignition process Gas-air mixture can be detonated, causing catalytic combustion sets in quickly.
  • Another advantage is the very reliable ignition system, because the ignition process due to the short gas path and the rapid flow around the igniter is reproducible with the gas-air mixture and therefore ignition failures can be avoided. is always reproducible in the same way due to the short gas path.
  • Gas supply devices are to be understood as those components of the gas combustion device which connect to the gas valve to control the gas flow. It is also quite conceivable that part of the catalyst, in which the gas-air mixture flows in, can be provided with a bypass.
  • the gas-permeable cover acts like one Throttle valve, so that a certain amount of the gas-air mixture safely and quickly also reaches the ignition device via the bypass.
  • the greater the gas permeability of the first Coverage is the more of the gas-air mixture becomes the chamber of the catalyst fed and the less reaches the ignition device.
  • the output of the bypass is one second gas permeable cover, which is in coordination with the first cover
  • the permeability is chosen so that there is still sufficient gas-air mixture reaches the ignition device via the bypass.
  • This second cover also has that Advantage that the gas explosion proceeding from the ignition device does not pass through the bypass into the chamber of the catalyst, but only from the outside through the catalyst surrounding space reaches the catalyst.
  • the first and second cover from a metallic sieve, the passages of which are a sufficient amount of Allow the gas-air mixture to flow to both the catalytic converter and the ignition device. That too metallic screen of the second cover serves as a kind of gas flow restrictor so as not To give too much gas to the ignition device.
  • the two covers serve also as an improvement in the mixing of the gas-air mixture when passing through the covers flows.
  • patent claim 6 also enable simple manufacture of the bypass on the gas supply device by merely forming a slot on the side of the bore which is bounded by the second cover at its opening.
  • the one-piece design of the first and second cover as a cover part the manufacture, parts storage and assembly of the device considerably simplified. This lowers the cost of the device.
  • the features of claim 8 allow a simple connection of the catalyst the cover and the gas supply device by placing the cover on the gas supply device and the catalyst is again centered on the cover. In this way the catalyst can be fixed to the gas supply device, for example via a screw connection, Gluing, plastic deformation or any other known fastening device, get connected.
