- the cooling oil is introduced via the piston pin into the hubs and from there through vertical bores upwards into an outer cooling channel, flows radially inwards into a central cooling chamber and over a drain into the inner shape of the piston.
- the deflection of the oil in the piston pin and the long bores result in a relatively high flow resistance.
- the invention is therefore concerned with the problem of optimizing the flow of the cooling oil through the piston in generic internal combustion engines and simplifying the bolt or optimizing its strength through the non-integrated oil guide.
