Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a tavaillon for making the roof covering.
The tavaillon consists of a wooden board, intended to be placed at partial covering to cover a roof. The manufacture of tavaillons is often artisanal, and is operated by making slits in a wooden log, followed by a burst by means of wedges pressed into each bleeding. The boards obtained reveal the surface wood fibers that are not cut during bursting. Rainwater trickles along these fibers without penetrating inside the wood. The surface apparent of these boards is often irregular, which complicates the installation in quiconce. Artisanal bursting generates a certain number of waste.
The covers in traditional tavaillons do not comply with fire standards, because escaping embers through the flue can cause a fire started under certain conditions.
The rugged exterior surface of tavaillons can also promote formation of foam which promotes rotting and decomposition of the wood. It is then necessary to carry out expensive special treatments to avoid or remove these mosses.
The document FR 2712620 relates to a device for coating a roof imitating slate or shingle covers. Placing the plates is carried out by sliding and nesting the returns inside the return continued. The base of the latter rests against returns, so as to ensure positioning in the direction of the slope. There are no gaps in ventilation with adjacent elements.
Document DE 3628188 describes a cover plate composed of a rectangular sheet added to an offset part of the support core.
The object of the invention is to produce a tavaillon whose outer face has a long-lasting aesthetic structure and anti-foam properties and fireproof.
- a facing surface partially covering the core in the longitudinal direction of the tavaillon,
- and a cuff secured to the facing surface to provide both a runoff recovery channel and positioning means for forming ventilation gaps with the adjacent tavaillons, said cuff having a width less than that of the core, and having a predetermined overlap distance on the facing surface.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the facing surface is equipped with a peripheral frame intended to be threaded in a groove of the wooden soul. The cuff has two peripheral hems extending in the longitudinal direction to constitute said means of positioning. The cuff is preferably welded to the surface of facing.
According to a characteristic of the invention, the core has a profile parallelepiped with large parallel side faces in the shape of dihedrons, the cuff extending from the side of the minimum thickness opposite to bleeding.
The wooden core is autoclaved to be rot-proof, and can be made by fir, spruce, or pine. The core can also be made of plastic.
The metal envelope can be either copper, zinc, or steel stainless.
- la figure 1 est une vue en perspective de l'âme en bois du tavaillon selon l'invention;
- la figure 2 est une vue de profil selon la flèche 2 de l'âme en bois de la figure 1;
- la figure 3 représente une vue en perspective du tavaillon à structure mixte bois et métal;
- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the wooden core of the tavaillon according to the invention;
- Figure 2 is a side view along arrow 2 of the wooden core of Figure 1;
- FIG. 3 represents a perspective view of the tavaillon with a mixed wood and metal structure;
- Figure 4 shows several tavaillons according to the invention, mounted with partial overlap during the installation of the cover.
Referring to Figures 1 to 3, a
20.The
The two
With reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, a plurality of
Due to the staggered arrangement, the opposite ends of the
représentées).Only the metal facing surfaces are visible on the cover,
with part of the songs of
Any foaming is prevented on such a metallic surface, this which is an advantage compared to a traditional roofing in tiles or shingles.
The fire-retardant property of the metal exterior surface of the roof according to the invention is also an advantage over a roof covered with classic wooden tavaillons. Any falling embers escaping through the the chimney is thus incapable of causing a fire to start.
sur les figures 1 à 5.It is clear that the profile of the
The core 12 can also be made of plastic.
