Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an aquatic propulsion device suitable for a tray such as described in the preamble of claim 1.
  • a device is described in the document GB 227 241. More specifically, the present invention relates to a rigid or goriflable nautical vehicle propelled by a two-blade device.
  • This device is actuated by a pedal with hollow branches and totally submerged discoid shape whose axis is connected to a mechanism that drives a regular and continuous wave movement with two rods each sliding in a tube supporting aquatic fins which carry out, by transmission of the aforementioned movement, a beat, in the same vertical plane, in parallel and opposite direction.
  • Nautical devices of this type traditionally include a floating support, which can be assimilated to a pole, on which the user is strapped which can, in the event of overturning abrupt, present a danger to said user.
  • the protruding parts of these devices can also present a danger, in agitated aquatic environment, to swimmers who are near.
  • Corresponding propulsion systems of the same kind including a pedal and a fully immersed mono or bipal device are produced, either on the principle of a scull moved by a pedal with rectilinear action, or by aquatic fins attached directly to the pedals themselves.
  • the effort required to produce a back and forth movement of the pedals is important; in the second case, the propelling effect of the fins is lessened due to an elliptical beat and not in the opposite direction, carried out in the same vertical plane, like that carried out by humans and recognized as the most efficient.
  • the nautical device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks.
  • the float includes a rigid or inflatable float, all or part associated with a propulsion system bipalme actuated by a pedal with branches of discoidal shape and whose pedals also include adequate soft protection.
  • the float with rounded shapes, is hollowed out at its rear to allow the user to sit astride.
  • the parts adjoining this recess have a slight elevation towards the front, elevation more accentuated towards the back serving as a backrest, thus facilitating a body position bent in the direction of travel while effectively maintaining the lower part of the back without particular fixed attachment; the user, in a bent forward position, has the possibility grab onto two handles attached to each side of the float to better ensure its balance.
  • the steering is ensured by immersing the hand on the desired side, vertical palm.
  • the hollow branches of the shape crankset discoid also contribute to buoyancy; they can also be used as wheels for moving the machine ashore, which is an additional advantage. in this case, the machine is pulled by the handle, located at the bow, intended for all possible attachment in the event of towing in an aquatic environment.
  • the two-blade device comprises, according to a first characteristic, a bottom bracket with hollow branches of discoidal shape, with removable pedals, and connected by its axis, comprising two cogwheels, two second cogwheels also larger diameter on each of which is fixed laterally, in a diametrically opposite position, a lug; two rods pivot on the one hand on these lugs and slide on the other hand inside two tubes connected to the chassis of the device by pivots; the aquatic fins are attached to the end of these tubes.
  • the four toothed wheels mentioned above constitute a box of reduction.
  • the retained mechanism makes it possible to reduce the effort and prints via the sliding rods, describing at the lugs and opposite a full rotation, alternating movements, also in opposite directions, of the two tubes on which the fins are fixed water; this beat is limited to a simple rocking movement around pivots due to neutralization of thrust movements and back and forth pulling of the rods by sliding these rods in the corresponding tubes; the fins perform, in as a result, a regular and opposite beat in the same vertical plane.
  • the four toothed wheels can be replaced by a crank-rod, taking the place of a crankset axis, on which the two rods pivot sliding doors hollowed out upstream for this purpose.
  • This embodiment brings the same result than the previous one, except for not being able to benefit, for the user, from a reduction of the effort deployed.
  • the propulsion device comprises a pedal unit with hollow branches and discoidal shape (1), with removable pedals whose protection made of flexible material can constitute the convex and circular head of a pressure screw aiming to make the two parts (2) integral, the axis of which supports two meshing gears with two larger diameter gear wheels (3) fixed to the chassis on one side (9) to allow, in the central part, the free rotary movement of the rods described more far.
  • Two lugs are placed laterally on the aforementioned wheels in diametrically position opposite (4); on these pins pivot the hollowed heads of two sliding rods (5) in two tubes (6) themselves fixed to the frame by pivots (7) in order to obtain a movement toggle.
  • the aquatic fins are attached to the end of these tubes (8)
  • the wheels teeth (3) constitute a reduction box.
  • the diameter of these cogwheels as well as the length of the rods (5) are such that the rotation of said wheels driven by the bottom bracket prints to the tubes (6), via the rods (5) and their friction and pressure on the walls inside of these tubes (6), a rocking movement, similar to a beat, reflected to the aquatic fins attached thereto (8).
  • This parallel beat and meaning opposite takes place in the same vertical plane, for the reasons explained above, giving fins (8) all their effectiveness.
  • the axis of the gear wheels supporting the sliding rods (9) and the pivots supporting the tubes (7) must, to obtain the best yield from the fins, lie in a horizontal plane.
  • the two axes of the reduction box (9; 10) may lie in different planes compatible with normal operation.
  • the fairing housing the propulsion device has an opening at the rear (11) so that the aquatic fins can beat freely.
  • the reduction box (3) is replaced by a connecting rod-crank (3 bis) serving as an axle for the pedal; the two sliding rods (5) pivoting around the two opposite horizontal parts provided for this purpose can perform a full rotation upstream when the crankset is activated by printing to the two tubes (6) a movement of the same kind as that exposed under the first embodiment.
  • the hollowed-out fairing (12) housing the propulsion device, fixed under the upper rear part of the float (13), is designed so that its ground clearance is sufficient (14) to allow the disc-shaped branches of the crankset (1) to also be used as wheels.
  • the periphery of these branches hollow contributing to buoyancy can be covered with rubberized material (15) .
  • the locking and unlocking of these arms (1) of the bottom bracket axle (10) is manually secured by a flat key (16), perforated to allow passage the index finger, sliding in two fixed lateral slides (17).
  • the axle of the bottom bracket (10) is hollowed out bevel (18) to facilitate the passage of the lower part of the key and to make thus the two parts secured to one another. Markers can be worn on the visible edge of these two parts to facilitate rapid operation relating to locking.
  • Each protection made of flexible material of the pedals (2) can constitute the head of a screw pressure to allow possible dismantling of these pedals screwed into the body of crank arms
  • the rigid or inflatable float of a specific shape for optimum use of the propulsion system under the best possible safety conditions is hollowed out in its central part (19) to allow the user to position himself piggyback.
  • the part located towards the front has a slight elevation (20) on which can be supported by this user in a bent position in the direction of travel.
  • Two handles are provided laterally (22) to be able to grip and raise located at the rear (21), forming a backrest, allows the lower part of the back to be wedged. access to the pedals is facilitated by the recess of the fairing mentioned above (12).
  • a handful the bow (23) is used both for possible towing in an aquatic environment and for movements of the float on land.
  • the nautical device according to the invention is intended for the general public for local use in the aquatic environment as part of nautical activities related to leisure, sport and health.
