Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for retaining a boot on a snow gliding board intended more particularly for the practice of surfing, also called snowboarding.
  • the user uses relatively flexible shoes retained on the board by means of retaining devices comprising a base and a rear support piece, said shoe being, moreover, retained on the base by restraint means.
  • the sole of the shoe is therefore in abutment either directly on the base, as, for example, in the device disclosed by French patent application number 0012703 filed by the applicant, or on at least one front support piece such as this is described in the French patent application disclosed under the number 2 793 698.
  • the shoes do not all have the same length, for reasons of sizes, but also for reasons of types of shoes and brands.
  • manufacturers define their own shape before the shoe.
  • the position of the support is not necessarily adapted to the shoe of the user. This therefore results in poor performance for certain shoes which do not necessarily have the optimum size or shape for the position of the front support.
  • Document WO 9 842 419 discloses a retaining device with movable base at the front.
  • the present invention is an improvement which allows the user to have perfect front support whatever his style of skiing and the type of shoe chosen, and also allows a wedging optimal in the binding thus promoting a conduct of the surf in excellent conditions
  • the device for retaining a boot on a snow gliding board intended more particularly for the practice of surfing is of the type comprising a base carrying at least one front retaining member retaining the front of the shoe, the base comprising a front support piece for the front end of the shoe, and is characterized in that the front support piece and the front retaining member form a front support and mobile retainer on the base to be adjustable in longitudinal position relative to the base.
  • the support and retaining assembly is disposed sliding longitudinally forward and backward on the front part of the base.
  • the front retaining member is constituted by a semi-rigid strap comprising adjustment means.
  • the front support piece has the shape of a transverse plate whose lateral ends are extended by two front side walls extending upwards, each of the front side walls being intended to laterally retain the front of the shoe and fixing the ends of the front retainer.
  • the ends of the front strap are pivotally mounted on the front side walls, around a front transverse axis constituted by two front side pivots, while the support zone corresponding to the support surface of the front support piece is disposed at the front of the front vertical transverse plane passing through the pivot axis of the front retaining member.
  • the bearing surface of the bearing piece is arranged under the horizontal plane passing through the pivot axis of the front retaining member.
  • the base also carries a rear retaining member retaining the shoe at the kick.
  • front and rear retaining members are advantageously constituted by a semi-rigid strap made of plastic.
  • Figure 1 is a top view of a gliding board, such as a board provided with its two devices for retaining the user's shoes.
  • Figure 2 is a side view of the restraint device according to the invention with a shoe.
  • Figure 3 is a rear perspective view of the retainer without the shoe.
  • Figures 4 and 5 are side views of the retainer with its front retainer and support assembly in two different length adjustment positions.
  • Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view along A-A made at the locking means of the front support.
  • Figure 7 is a partial view in longitudinal section along BB made at the front support.
  • Figures 8, 9, 10, 11 are views similar to Figure 7, illustrating four alternative embodiments.
  • Figure 12 is a partial side view of the front support, comprising an improvement.
  • a gliding board (1) intended for the practice of surfing comprises two retaining devices (2a, 2b) also called bindings for retaining on said surf the two shoes of the user.
  • the two retaining devices are fixed to the upper surface (3) of the surf (1) so that their general plane of symmetry (P) is at an angle relative to the axis (XX ') of said surf, such that this is illustrated in figure 1.
  • shoe retention devices (2a, 2b) which will be designated by the general reference (2) will be described below.
  • FIG. 2 is a side view showing the retaining device (2) according to the invention which comprises a base (4) or support plate extending horizontally from a front end (5) to a rear end (6), and being formed by a front part (20) and a rear part (21).
  • the base is mounted and fixed to the ski in a known manner and, for example, by means of a central part (7) disposed in the central part (26) of the base.
  • This central part is advantageously circular in the form of a disc to allow the user to be able to adjust by rotation the orientation of its base relative to the longitudinal plane of symmetry (X, X ') of the surf.
  • the rear part (21) of said base (4) is laterally limited on each side by a lateral rim (8a, 8b), a left lateral rim (8a) and a right lateral rim (8b), each of the rims being constituted by a substantially vertical wall intended to laterally retain the shoe.
  • the two lateral edges (8a, 8b) are connected at the rear by a rear arch (9) carrying a rear support piece (10) extending upwards (HA), the arch being intended to serve as backward stop for the shoe (11).
  • the user's shoe (11) has a relatively flexible upper (12) relative to its lower part (13) which extends from a front end (14) to a rear end (15) or heel which is in support backwards (AR) against the rear arch (9). Furthermore, the rear support piece (10) is intended to serve as a rear support for the upper (10) of the shoe (11).
  • said shoe (11) is, according to the illustrated embodiment, retained on the base (4) by a front retaining member (16) retaining the front (14) of the shoe, and a rear retainer (17) retaining said shoe at the kick.
  • the front retaining member (16) and the rear retaining member (17) are, according to the preferred embodiment illustrated, constituted by a semi-rigid strap respectively (160, 170) made, for example, of material plastic, advantageously comprising adjustment means (27) to adapt them to the volume dimensions of said shoe.
  • a semi-rigid strap respectively 160, 170
  • any other retaining means for the shoe can be provided, other than semi-rigid straps.
  • ends (26a, 26b) of the rear retaining member (17) are arranged articulated on the hoop (9) around a rear transverse axis (T1) by means of strap fixing pivots (28a , 28b).
  • the shoe is supported on the base (4) by means of two support pieces, namely, a front support piece (18) for the front end (14) of the shoe (11), and a heel support piece (19) for the rear end (15).
  • the front support piece (18) is movably mounted and adjustable in longitudinal position on the base (4).
  • the front support piece (18) is arranged sliding longitudinally forwards and backwards on the front part (20) of the base (4) as is particularly visible in FIGS. 4, 5, 6, 7.
  • the front retaining member (16) is connected to the front support piece (18) so as to be integral with it in movement
  • the front support piece (18) has the shape of a transverse plate whose lateral ends are extended by two front side walls (22a, 22b) extending upwards.
  • Each of the front side walls (22a, 22b) is intended to laterally retain the front (14) of the shoe, and to fix the ends (29a, 29b) of the front retaining member (16).
  • said ends (29a, 29b) of the front strap (160) are pivotally mounted on said front side walls, around a front transverse axis (T2) formed by two front side pivots (24a, 24b).
  • the front support piece (18) and the front retaining strap (16) form a front support and retaining assembly (30) movable on the base so that it can be adjustable in position relative to the 'base.
  • the user can choose the longitudinal position of the front support and retaining assembly (30) and therefore of the front support piece (18) with the front retaining member ( 16), in a chosen position, corresponding to the size of the shoe and in particular of its front end.
  • the front support piece (18) comprises blocking means allowing the user to block the movable front assembly (30) in the chosen position, said blocking means being able to be of any kind and, for example , be made by a central bolt (25).
  • the support area (Z) corresponding to the support surface (23) of the front support piece (18) is arranged at the front of the front vertical transverse plane (P2) passing through the axis pivot (T2), that is to say in the space (E) located in front of said plane (P2), the support advantageously not being in the area (V) located behind this plane.
  • the bearing surface (23) is advantageously inclined to extend forwards (AV) and upwards (HA) and arranged under the horizontal plane (H2) passing through the pivot axis (T2 ).
  • FIG. 8 thus illustrates a variant according to which the bearing surface (23) has a curvature so as to be in conformity with the shape of the sole of the shoe (11), in its zone bearing against the front end (14 ).
  • FIG. 9 illustrates a variant according to which the front support comprises an intermediate layer (31) made of deformable material such as plastic material of the polyurethane type or the like, disposed under the upper layer (32) which is made of rigid material .
  • the intermediate layer (31) made of deformable material advantageously comprises projections (33a, 33b) extending upwards through holes made in the upper layer (32), which has the effect of obtaining a partially soft support, in order to ensure both comfort and driving the surf.
  • the layer of deformable material could also constitute the upper layer of the support, as illustrated in FIG. 11.
  • FIG. 12 shows an improvement, according to which means for displaying the correct adjustment in the longitudinal position are provided.
  • the front support piece (18) comprises on its side wall, a support mark (34), intended to be matched with a second mark (35) disposed on the shoe.
  • a support mark (34) intended to be matched with a second mark (35) disposed on the shoe.
