Definitions

  • the invention relates to a floating swimming pool cover.
  • cover pools including those arranged outdoors for example in private homes, by an articulated protective cover, also called roller shutter.
  • This type of cover protects the pool from falling leaves, dust, gravel or other objects that can dirty or pollute water, or even drowning.
  • These covers can also maintain the water at a temperature above the outside temperature, or even heat it by storing heat especially if the surface of the cover that is in contact with the water is dark. The cover thus makes it possible to reduce the natural evaporation phenomena due in particular to the temperature differences between day and night, and thus to reduce the water losses.
  • These covers typically comprise a plurality of plastic blades which each substantially measure the width of the pool to be covered and which are connected and articulated together at the hinge areas of which they are each provided. Thus, they can adapt to the rippling water and especially to wrap around a motorized shaft, immersed or not.
  • the tubular blades constituting these covers are most often extruded so as to have longitudinal cells, and they are designed to float as best as possible to the surface of the basin.
  • these blades can easily take the water because of their honeycomb structure, and thus exhibit poor flotation even if they are generally constructed of a low density plastic material. It has therefore been planned to close the open ends of these slats with sealing plugs embedded in the cells, preferably with a plugging material in the cells such as an adhesive or a sealant to improve the watertightness. water.
  • the injected sealing material progresses in the hollow chamber and abuts against the transverse wall of the piston so as to seal the plug and the blade.
  • a second orifice for each cell is also provided in the plug to expel the air as the glue is injected, or even to recover a surplus of glue exiting through the second orifice.
  • Document DE 4234162 discloses a floating swimming pool cover, this covering consisting of a plurality of blades with hollow structure, a sealing plug being inserted at each end of each blade, the plug being made in one piece.
  • An object of the invention is to provide a solution to this problem.
  • the invention proposes a swimming pool blanket, this blanket consisting of a plurality of blades arranged parallel to each other, each blade having a hollow structure with cells extending over its entire length, a plug seal inserted and fixed at each end of the blade to seal said cells, two hinge wings located on either side of each blade to ensure its connection with adjacent blades and such that two adjacent blades can slide longitudinally l relative to each other, characterized in that an outer cap is removably attached. on each cap and in that each cap has a portion intended to come opposite a hinge wing of the associated blade while the cap is disposed away from this wing.
  • this solution also allows, in the case where the edges of the pool are not parallel, to remove a blade, and replace it with a new one that is better suited, or to put a cap to the appropriate dimensions.
  • the cap is clipped on the cap and completely covers its front face.
  • the cells of the blade are symmetrical and the plug is reversible so that it can be mounted indifferently on one or other of the ends of the blade.
  • the thin rod carrying the piston around it contains a large volume defining the hollow chamber receiving the clogging material. Such a volume is often unnecessary and therefore requires a large amount of clogging material, which then often takes a long time to dry.
  • the large variations in thickness of the plug between the piston and the rod can weaken it and make it difficult to manufacture by a conventional method of injection of plastic material under pressure. Important constraints may indeed arise in said rod during injection, as well as during the embedment of the plug in the blade.
  • the plug has a body provided with at least one protruding protrusion inserted in a corresponding cell of said blade, this protuberance extending with a flared portion as one moves away from the body of the plug, for example of generally conical shape, so that at its end opposite the body of the plug, the section of the flared portion occupies substantially the entire cross section of the cell.
  • each flared portion defines around it and between the walls of the cell inside which it is inserted, a peripheral hollow chamber for the injection of a sealing material such as an adhesive, this chamber being of smaller volume than the external volume occupied by said flared portion.
  • the clogging material can dry more easily because it is injected in less than in the prior art.
  • the plug body is traversed by a single orifice for each protuberance.
  • each orifice passing through the body of the plug communicates in a protuberance and divides therein to open, at the level of the corresponding hollow chamber, several lateral openings inclined with respect to the axis of the orifice of the body and directed in substantially opposite directions.
  • each orifice of the body divides, within its associated protuberance and at the level of the hollow chamber, into two openings perpendicular to the axis of said orifice and oriented in opposite directions.
  • the sealing material is well directed into the hollow chamber so that it is distributed much better than in the prior art, the flared shape also acting as a deflector for guiding the sealing material.
  • the clogging material does not form air bubbles that may affect the sealing of the plug and it is unnecessary to deburr the plug because the clogging material does not emerge from the chamber to the outside of the blade .
  • each flared portion of the plug is hollow from its end farthest from the plug body.
  • the cap is hollow and is made of the same material as the cap, for example of plastic material.
  • FIG. 1 A floating blanket for a swimming pool is partially shown in perspective in FIG. 1 and has the reference 1.
  • This floating blanket 1 comprises a plurality of blades 10 arranged parallel to each other, of which only the opposite ends 10a and 10b of two between them were represented.
  • Each blade 10 has a hollow structure comprising longitudinal cells, for example two in number, referenced 12 and 14. These cells 12 and 14, made in one piece with the blade 10 for example during an extrusion operation, extend over the entire length of the blade 10 and preferably have relatively simple and identical sections, for example rectangular or square.
  • Each blade 10 is provided laterally, on either side of the cells 12 and 14, hinge wings 16 and 18 extending over the entire length of the blade 10.
  • the first hinge wing 16 comprises a wall thin 17 erected laterally from an edge of the cell 12 and is provided at its free end with two rounded hooks 17a and 17b. These hooks 17a and 17b are oriented in opposition so that the hinge wing 16 has substantially the shape of a T whose horizontal branch is rounded.
  • the hooks 17a and 17b are laterally offset and have slightly different shapes, as can be better seen in Figure 5, to facilitate the mounting of a blade 10 on another.
  • the second hinge wing 18 is in the form of an open cell laterally with two lips 18a and 18b curved towards each other and directed towards the inside of this cell (see also FIG. leaving a small gap between them so that the first hinge wing 16 of another blade 10 can be inserted there and remain there through its hooks 17a and 17b (see also the arrow F of the Figure 2).
  • Each blade 10 is designed to float on the water of a swimming pool. However, in order to improve this flotation, it is provided at its two ends 10a and 10b with a sealing plug 20 as shown in FIG. 1 and in more detail in FIGS. we will now describe.
  • the stopper 20 has a body 21 from which project protuberances 22 of shape adapted to penetrate with a small clearance inside the respective cells 12 and 14 of the blade 10.
  • protuberances 22 are extended by flared portions 23, for example conical with a square or rectangular section compatible with the section of the cells 12 and 14. These protuberances and their flared extensions 23 are such that the plug 20 is reversible so that it can be mounted indifferently at one or other of the ends 10a or 10b of the blade 10.
  • Each conical portion 23 flares away as one moves away from the body 21 of the plug 20 so that the small base of the cone is disposed closer to the body 21 of the plug 20 than the large base.
  • Each conical portion 23 thus ends with a large base having substantially the same section as the cell 12 or 14 so as to close it. It may be noted that to reduce the amount of material and lighten the plug 20, the flared portions 23 are hollow from their ends.
  • the body 21 of the plug 20 is also traversed by a plurality of orifices 24 each arranged in the extension of a conical portion 23.
  • Each orifice 24 is divided into two openings 25 arranged in the protuberances 22 , closest to the small base of the corresponding conical portion 23 and perpendicular to the orifice 24.
  • the stopper 20 is provided on a front face 20a with a removable external cap referenced 30, preferably also made of plastic for example by molding.
  • This cap 30 which is shown in perspective in Figure 5, is preferably hollow. It adapts to the body 21 of the plug 20 and has a thickness substantially equal to that of the blade 10 to be the extension thereof once mounted on said plug 20.
  • the cap 30 has at least one bead 31, shown in detail in Figure 9, which cooperates with a recess 29 of the body 21 of the cap 20 so as to be snap on the cap 20 for easy assembly and disassembly.
  • the cap 30 also has a recessed housing 32 for completely covering the front face 20a of the body 21 of the plug 20, and a recess 33 for closing the hinge wing 18 of the blade 10 when it is mounted.
  • the cap 30 has a slot 34, shown in more detail in Figure 8, which is intended to facilitate disassembly with a suitable tool such as a screwdriver, or with the nails.
  • the plug 20 is inserted into the cells 12 and 14 by introducing the conical portions 23 of the plug into said cells until the body 21 of the plug 20 acts as a stop and opposes the said introduction.
  • the plug 20 of the present invention only obstructs the cells 12 and 14 and that it is disposed away from the two articulation wings 16 and 18 of the blade 10
  • a hollow annular chamber 19 is defined around each conical portion 23, being limited laterally by the walls of the cell 12 or 14 corresponding, by the extension 22 and the end of the conical portion 22, as can be seen in particular in Figures 6 or 7.
  • This hollow chamber 19 is of small volume relative to the volume occupied externally by the conical portion 23 and also significantly smaller volume than in the prior art. Moreover, the volume of this chamber 19 decreases as one moves away from the injection orifice 24.
  • sealing material C preferably silicone, such as an adhesive or putty.
  • This sealing material C passes through the two openings 25 and flows into the hollow chamber 19 in order to seal the blade 10 and the plug 20.
  • the sealing material C is guided by the shape of the flared portion 23 so that it begins to fill the part of the chamber 19 located closest to the injection port 24, that is to say the part that is easier to fill.
  • the clogging material C moves towards the bottom of the chamber 19 as the pressure exerted on it increases due to the decrease in the volume of the chamber 19.
  • the cap 30 of FIG. 4 is mounted immediately at the two ends 10a and 10b of the blade 10, by clipping it on the body 21 of each plug 20 to obstruct the hinge wing 18 of the blade 10.
  • Each blade 10 is typically made of rot-proof and preferably UV-resistant plastics material, such as PVC or polyethylene, for example using a known extrusion process, or with the aid of another process for obtaining an elongated rectilinear and hollow profile.
  • the blade 10 is transparent or translucent (depending on the material used) on its face facing outwards, and dark (black for example) on its side facing side of the basin, so as to limit the heat losses of the water and possibly the pool of the pool by capturing the sun's rays.
  • the plugs 20, as well as the caps 30, are preferably made of a rotproof plastics material having good chlorine resistance and good stickiness, for example of PVC or polyethylene, preferably by molding or optionally machining in the mass.
  • the main orifices 24 of the front face 20a of the body 21 of the plug 20 can communicate with four perpendicular orifices 25, one for each part of the flared portion 23, in order to distribute the fluid sealing material C even better during its injection along these sections in the chamber 19.
  • the removable cap 30 may be mounted on the cap 20 other than by clipping and in particular using tabs or screws, for example.
  • the slot 34 of the cap used to easily remove it with a suitable tool can be transferred to the cap without changing its function.
  • the flared portion 23 may take different forms when the volume defined between it and the side walls of the cell in which it is inserted decreases as one moves away from the injection point.
  • it may be a simple conical shape, of round, square, rectangular or oval, for example, of a conical staircase shape or variable slopes, rectilinear or curved.
