- the weft is made up of weft lines that intersect and form weft dots between them.
- the weft dots are filled with ink, and a doctor blade passes over the weft to remove excess ink.
- a support most often paper, touches the screen and the ink placed in the screen dots is deposited on the paper. This printing process results in fairly good quality printing. However, the places where the paper rests on the weft lines during printing, are not printed and show a very fine grid on the paper.
- an ink which can diffuse on the paper.
- the ink deposited on the paper expands and covers the weft lines so as to make the fine grid disappear. Even if the dot gain succeeds in spreading the ink over the unprinted parts, this spreading is not uniform and cannot be controlled, so to speak.
- the printed surface includes parasitic designs detrimental to the uniformity of the printing. Weft lines are always visible; the printing is said to be “marbled” and all the limits of the printed areas include serrations which correspond to the remains of the areas without ink of the screen.
- the positive texts are fattened, like "pasted", the texts in reserve in the solid areas are emaciated, like "blocked".
- the object of the present invention is to provide a printing tool which makes it possible to produce better quality prints. According to the invention, this objective is achieved by a printing tool according to claim 1.
- Such tooling comprises a weft formed by a grid of intersecting weft lines, the weft lines forming weft points between them. At least one weft point of the frame is connected to at least one neighboring weft point by an interruption in the weft line separating the weft points.
- the interruption in the weft line reduces the total area of the weft lines.
- the quantity of ink directly deposited on a support is greater.
- the surface to be covered with ink by means of the diffusion of ink on the paper, i.e. by gaining the point, is reduced. Better print quality is thus obtained.
- the printed surfaces are more uniform and show almost no traces of weft lines.
- the surface of the solid areas no longer has parasitic patterns detrimental to the uniformity of the solid areas.
- the eye of the positive characters remains clearly visible and the negative characters in reserve in the solid areas become less or not clogged at all.

- Fig.3 shows a printing area 24 comprising a frame 10 delimited by a peripheral groove 26. Between the peripheral groove 26 and the frame 10 is provided a spacer net 28. To make an impression, the weft dots and the peripheral groove are filled with ink. Excess ink is removed by means of a doctor blade, which is supported by the weft lines. The screen forms a rigid support for the paper, which is placed directly on the screen during printing. The ink in the halftone dots and the peripheral groove is transmitted to the paper. In places where ink deposit is not possible, due to lines of screen, a printing nevertheless takes place by means of a diffusion of the ink on the paper. This allows the ink to spread, thus covering the areas in front of the weft lines.
