Abstract

The intermediate support consists of a connecting peg (12) fixed to the frame of the door or window and a shoulder (15) on the fixed surrounding frame (5). The interacting surfaces (17,18) of the peg and shoulder are approximately semi-cylindrical in shape and positioned more or less concentrically with the axis (8) of the hinge, allowing for an adjustment of the door or window relative to the frame. The peg and shoulder can be made from metal or a synthetic material.

Description

The invention relates to an intermediate plug for a door, or window comprising an opening pivotally mounted on a frame sleeping through hinge fittings whose means of articulation are deported close to the rebate plane, between said opening and said frame.

The present invention will find its application in the field of building hardware and deals, more particularly to devices intended to assist hinge fittings in the hold, against the frame of the opening, at the height of the pivot axis of this latest.

It is already known to equip doors or windows with such devices, particularly when the opening is mounted pivoting on its dormant frame by means of articulation means apparent. In fact, such articulation fittings, or hinges, have a first blade fixed on the upright rear of said dormant frame and comprising, for example, one or several bushings holding a pivot axis on which is engaged a sleeve of a movable blade secured to opening.

Devices for assisting such fittings apparent articulation, to promote the maintenance of opening it against the sleeping frame, particularly when it is applied to the first a significant external pressure, borrow the intermediate bearing configuration. More particularly on the inner side of the rear pillar is reported a fixed sole now, at each of his ends, an axis lying substantially on the axis of pivoting of the opening and at the rear of which can engage a gripping finger of a movable element attached to the opening.

In the end, it is also known records intermediates in the form of a gripping finger implanted in rebate opening and planned able to engage in a strike, in the form of a light, formed in correspondence in rabbet sleeping frame. So that intermediate cards as well designed to be effective in the function that is attributed, there must be a sufficient gap between the plane perpendicular to the opening, passing through the axis of pivoting of the latter, and the striker on the planned sleeping frame to accommodate said latching finger, otherwise it enter into cooperation very early with said waste and it is advisable to give it the shape of a hook with accentuated curvature, precisely because of the proximity of the pivot axis of opening.

He is still known, especially by the document DE-A-195 09 677, a safety device intended to reinforce holding a door or window opening relative to its dormant frame, particularly with regard to an attempt burglary. This device is in the form of a form intermediate having a gripping finger taking position in rabbet on the opening and able to cooperate with a rim fastening defined at the level of a striker secured to rebate of the sleeping frame. Inasmuch as the opening of the door or window is pivotally mounted on the frame through hinge fittings taking an applied position on the latter, the pivot axis of this opening is very away from the rabbet plane. Also, this hanging finger and the snap flange of this intermediate sheet include, each, an active part through which they cooperate with each other which, being straight, are strongly inclined relative to the plane of the sleeping frame, so that under the influence of pressure exerted on the opening since outside, these active surfaces tend to slide one on the other and offer only relative resistance.

It is also known from document DE-A-24 49 176 that similar intermediate plug whose finger is, however, secured to an operating rod corresponding to a locking fitting and extending along the rear amount of the opening. Nevertheless, the problem mentioned above is the same here and we can see, particularly through the drawings accompanying this document, which the pivot axis of the opening is necessarily far from the rebate plane. Also the active parts of this finger hooking and hooking edge are again strongly inclined relative to the plane of the sleeping frame. A solution to this problem is sought through the development, on these active parts, teeth preventing them from slipping one on the other under the effect of pressure exerted on the opening. We will notice again that an intermediary form thus conceived does not allow any adjustment of the opening relative to its frame sleeping.

It will be recalled on this subject that it is more and more frequent than to design articulation fittings whose means defining the articulation proper are weakly offset from the rabbet plane between the opening and the sleeping frame. This is, for example, the case when these means articulated position in dwellings provided for in this effect at the level of a covering strip equipping periphery the opening and coming, in the closed position of the latter, applies against the sleeping frame.

In the end, the invention relates to an intermediate sheet able to assist this type of qualified articulation fitting invisible.

Thus, the invention relates to an intermediate plug for a door, or window comprising an opening pivotally mounted on a frame sleeping through hinge fittings whose means of articulation are deported close to the rebate plane, between said opening and said frame, said sheet having a gripping finger taking a rabbet position on the opening and able to cooperate through a part active with that of a snap flange defined at the level of a striker made integral with the frame of the sleeping frame, these active parts, on the one hand, being of approximately semi-cylindrical and arranged concentrically by relative to the axis of pivoting of the opening and, secondly, respecting each other a certain interval to authorize a adjustment of the position of the opening on the frame.

Preferably, the gripping finger associated with the opening is deported in rabbet of the latter closer to the side external of this opening.

Advantageously, in the context of a door or window the opening or the sleeping frame comprises, in rabbet, a recessed groove of substantially U-shaped section or "T", said gripping finger, as well as the striker defining the snap flange are provided with an anchor shoe in said groove, respectively, of the sash and the frame and have an extension oriented on the outer side of said door or window at which this part is arranged active.

The advantages that flow from the present invention consist, first of all, that through the configuration of the part activates the gripping finger associated with the sash as well as that the snap flange corresponding to the strike associated with the dormant framework, their cooperation can be ensured with efficiency.

In addition, by coming to deport out of the opening this active part of the gripping finger and the hooking flange, the tangent passing through their contact zone, once the opening closed on the sleeping frame, is the result of a component, parallel to the plane of the door or window, much more important compared to the component that is perpendicular. Under these conditions and under the action of a pressure exerted from outside this door or window on its opening, this intermediate sheet is better able to oppose such pressure and pass it on directly on the sleeping frame.

Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent during the following description relating to a mode which is given only as an indicative example and non-limiting.

As shown in the figures of the attached drawing, the The present invention relates to an intermediate sheet 1 for door or window 2 having an opening 3 pivotally mounted at level of its rear amount 4, on a sleeping frame 5 to through invisible hinge fittings F which only the means of articulation have been schematically represented in broken line in Figure 1.

This situation occurs, in particular, in a configuration as shown in the figures of the attached drawing where the opening 3 comprises, in periphery, a lap strip 6 intended to come into applies against the frame 5, in the closed position of the door or window 2.

At the level of such a lap strip 6 is defined at least a housing 7 for receiving the articulation means 7A corresponding to the "F" fittings not visible. Through a such configuration the pivot axis 8 of the opening 3, passing through this lap strip 6 extending from its rear amount 4, is substantially offset from the rebate plane 10 of the rear pillar 11 corresponding to the sleeping frame 5.

In the end, intermediate card 1 has one finger 12, taking position in rebate 13 of the amount rear 4 of the opening 3, so as to cooperate with a striker 14, defining a snap flange 15 and rendered integral rebate 16 of the frame 5, plus particularly at the height of the rear pillar 11 of the latter.

This gripping finger 12, as well as the hooking flange 15, each comprise an active part, respectively 17, 18, each planned able to cooperate with the other, of form approximately semi-cylindrical and arranged substantially concentrically to the pivot axis 8 of the opening 3. By elsewhere, said active parts 17, 18 respect each other a specified interval to allow adjustment of the position of the opening in its sleeping frame, that most hinge fittings allow you to adjust to catch up in especially a slight squareness error between them. This remains possible through the present invention.

Furthermore, according to the invention, this active part 17 of the finger 12 and therefore the 18 of the flange fastening 15 defined by the striker 14, are deported, respectively, in rabbet 16 of the rear amount 11 of the frame frame 5 and rebate 13 of the rear pillar 4 of the opening 3, towards the outer side 19 of the latter.

In the particular case of a door or window whose frame 5 and the opening 3 are defined by an assembly of metal or synthetic profiles, these define, usually, in rabbet of this frame 5 and of this opening 3 a fixing groove, respectively 20, 21, of section substantially in "T" or "U". In such a situation and according to a preferential embodiment of the invention, said gripping finger 12 and the striker 14 comprise, advantageously, an anchoring shoe 22, 23 for cooperate with this groove T or U 21; 20, for their fastening, respectively, to the opening 3 and to the fixed frame 5. From this shoe 22, 23, this gripping finger 12 and the striker 14 comprise an extension 24, 25 extending towards the outer side E of the door or window and at the end 26, 27 which is defined the active part 17, respectively 18.

Note, again, that the extension 25 of the striker 14 can be configured, at its end 27, in the form of a return fastening 28 intended to cooperate with a shoulder 29 defined in rabbet 16 of the rear pillar 11 of the frame 5 and outward facing "E" of the door or window 2. In these conditions, the striker 14 is able to offer resistance increased in the amount of effort exerted through the finger 12 hanging in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the door or window 2 and oriented towards the inner side "I" of the latter.

According to an advantageous embodiment, at least one of the parts 17, 18 respectively of the gripping finger 12 and the striker 14, is striated, the streaks 30, 31 being preferentially oriented perpendicular to the relative displacement of these active parts 17, 18, one relative to the other, in progress opening and closing of the opening 3.

It should be noted, again, that these striations 30, 31 can be oriented from way to form redan in the direction of movement of the finger of attachment 12 with respect to the hooking flange 15, in the opening direction of the opening 3. Thus, in the sense of closing the crossing of the striations 31 of the hooking flange 15 by that 30 of the gripping finger 12 is facilitated in the purpose of making the closing operation easier on the one hand of the opening 3 and, secondly, the compression of this opening 3 against the frame 5 at the height of the pivot axis 8.

According to another embodiment, these streaks 30, 31 can be configured in steps throughout the parts 17, 18, knowing that at each staircase is defines a bearing surface extending parallel to the plane 33 door or window 2.

As it is particularly visible in Figure 2 of attached drawing, the deportation to the outside of active parts 17, 18, respectively of the attachment finger 12 and striker 14, makes it possible for the tangent 32, passing through the interaction zone between these active parts 17, 18, extends in a predominantly component direction parallel to the plane 33 of the door or window 2.

Note, moreover, that it has been illustrated on this same figure 2 an arc of circle 34 of center corresponding to the axis of pivoting 8 and passing, substantially, at the groove fastening 20 of the rear pillar 11 corresponding to the frame dormant 5. An interaction performed at this height, between a finger and a hooking edge, would lead to a interaction between their active part extending in a direction illustrated by the arrow marked 35, whose component perpendicular to plane 33 of the door or window 2 would be, this time, more important compared to its component parallel. Obviously such a design would lead to a less efficiency of such an intermediate sheet 1.

Claims (8)

1. Intermediate hinge (1) for a door or window (2) including a leaf (3) pivotally mounted on a sash-frame (5) through hinge fittings (F) the hinging means of which are offset towards the vicinity of the plane between said leaf (3) and the sash-frame (5), said hinge (1) including a coupling pawl (12) being positioned in the fillister (13) on the leaf (3) and capable of co-operating, through an active portion (17) with that (18) of a coupling rim (15) defined at the level of a keeper (14) integral with the fillister (16) of the sash-frame (5), characterised in that the active portions (17, 18) of the coupling pawl (12) and the coupling rim (15), on the one hand, have a semi-cylindrical shape and are arranged concentrically to the axis of pivoting (8) of the leaf (3) and, on the other hand, maintain between them a distance determined so as to authorise an adjustment of the position of the leaf (3) on the sash-frame (5).

Intermediate hinge according to claim 1, characterised in that the active portion (17) of the coupling pawl (12) and that (18) of the coupling rim (15) defined by the keeper (14) are offset in the fillister (13) of the rear stile (4) of the leaf (3) and in the fillister (16) of the rear stile (11) of the sash-frame (5), respectively, towards the external side (19) of the latter.

Intermediate hinge according to any of the preceding claims, for a door or window the sash-frame (5) and the leaf (3) of which are defined by an assembly of metal or plastic profile bars defining, in the fillister (16), (13) of this sash-frame (5) and this leaf (3), a fastening groove (20, 21), respectively, having a substantially "T"- or "U"-shaped cross-section, characterised in that the coupling pawl (12) and the keeper (14) include an anchoring shoe (22, 23) for co-operating with said "T"- or "U"-shaped groove (21, 20) in order to fasten them to the leaf (3) and to the sash-frame (5), respectively.

Intermediate hinge according to claim 3, characterised in that, starting from the anchoring shoe (22, 23), the coupling pawl (12) and the keeper (14) include an extension (24, 25) extending towards the external side (E) of the door or window (2) and at the end (26, 27) of which is defined the active portion (17), (18), respectively.

Intermediate hinge according to claim 4, characterised in that the extension (25) of the keeper (14) is configured, at its end (27), in the form of a coupling bend (28) destined to co-operate with a shoulder (29) defined in the fillister (16) of the rear stile (11) of the sash-frame (5) oriented towards the external side « E » of the door or window (2).

Intermediate hinge according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that at least one of the active portions (17, 18) of the coupling pawl (12) or the keeper (14), respectively, is striated, the striations (30, 31) being oriented perpendicularly to the relative displacement of these actives portions (17, 18), with respect to each other, when opening and closing the leaf (3).
7. Intermediate hinge according to claim 6, characterised in that the striations (30) corresponding to the active portions (17) of the coupling pawl (12) and/or the striations (31) of the active portion (18) of the keeper (14) are oriented so as to form a step in the direction of displacement of the coupling pawl with respect to the coupling rim (15), in the direction of opening of the leaf (3).
8. Intermediate hinge according to claim 6 or 7, characterised in that the striations (30, 31) have a stair-like configuration along the active portions (17, 18), knowing that at the level of each stair is defined a resting surface extending parallel to the plane (33) of the door or window (2).
