Definitions
- the invention relates to an electroacoustic transducer arrangement for transmitting and / or receiving sound waves of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1.
- Electroacoustic transducer assemblies are mounted for active and / or passive acoustic location of sound sources in water on cylindrical or horseshoe-shaped, planar or curved supports and form a cylinder base, a horseshoe base, a conformal array, in which the carrier follows the outer shape of the carrier ship, a flat Base or a side antenna, a so-called flank array.
- the location range of the electro-acoustic transducer assembly is dependent on the geometric shape of the carrier, it is 360 ° for a cylinder base and is a restricted sector for a conformal array arranged in the ship's bow.
- the plane base or side antenna covers a range of nearly 180 ° when transmitting and / or receiving sound waves.
- the transducer elements are mounted on the carrier so that vibrations and / or longitudinal and bending vibrations of the carrier are not transmitted to the transducer element.
- Transducer elements with a clay mushroom structure are preferably used in the waterborne sounding technique for transmitting, but also for receiving sound waves.
- the transducer element is a mechanical resonant circuit having a front mass, a back mass and an interposed oscillating ceramic body which acts as a spring.
- the front mass is coupled to the water and transmits the vibrations of the ceramic body to the surrounding water and vice versa. Its resonance frequency depends on the front and back mass and the suspension of the ceramic body.
- the advantage of such a transducer element is a very good efficiency in resonance mode.
- the transducer elements are housed individually or collectively in a housing with cavity and mounted with the housing on the support of the transducer assembly.
- From the DE-PS 31 07 879 is a transducer assembly with many transducer elements in a common housing in which the ceramic bodies oscillate with front and back mass in a cylindrical cavity.
- the back mass of each Transducer element is mounted on a plastic base plate via an intermediate disc of epoxy resin whose diameter is substantially smaller than the diameter of the back mass.
- the washer ensures structure-borne noise decoupling.
- the front masses of all transducer elements are glued on a common syntactic foam piston membrane, which is mounted vibrationally in the housing. Piston diaphragm and housing are surrounded by a waterproof potting compound.
- the advantage of such a transducer arrangement consists in the common housing, whereby the weight is substantially reduced, the disadvantage in the attachment and storage for structure-borne sound decoupling.
- the washers used there act as a spring, which must be dimensioned so that the vibration behavior of the transducer elements is not affected. In addition, they are prone to failure due to their small diameter and the required soft suspension.
- a known sonar transducer may selectively or simultaneously transmit and / or receive sound waves at a low and a higher frequency range.
- the transducer has a low-frequency transducer of Tonpilzdesign with a low-frequency ceramic body, a low-frequency back mass and a front mass, which is firmly connected to a cap-shaped housing piston, the front side engages over a housing and is axially displaceable on this.
- the transducer has several high frequency transducers in the tone mushroom design. Each high-frequency converter has its own ceramic body and its own front mass, which is connected to the housing piston. The back mass is common to all high-frequency converters and is formed by the front ground of the low-frequency converter.
- the low-frequency converter and the high-frequency transducer receiving housing is by means of mounting bolts on a Support structure rigidly attached.
- the back mass of the low-frequency converter is resiliently fixed to the housing wall, so that the back mass oscillates with a much smaller amplitude. As a result, relatively little energy is absorbed by the support structure.
- a well-known transducer with clay mushroom structure ( US 4,068,209 ) has a front mass, a back mass and a ceramic body clamped between them, which is formed by a stack of piezoelectric disks, and has means for decoupling the front mass and for forming a housing, which does not actually with the active front side of the front mass includes.
- These means comprise a plurality of hollow cylinders and an inertial mass.
- the diametrically identical hollow cylinder are set axially on each other and enclose the ceramic body with radial clearance.
- the two outer, annular end faces of the front side mutually superposed hollow cylinders are on the one hand to the back of the front mass and on the other hand to the front mass facing side of the inertial mass.
- the piezoelectric ceramic discs of the ceramic body are pushed onto a rod attached to the front mass and clamped between the front mass and the back mass.
- the rod passes through the inertial mass.
- a screwed onto the rod nut is supported on a washer on the inertial mass and axially biases the ceramic body.
- a known, structure-sound damping composite system ( DE 38 20 491 A1 ) has a bending wave leading, an intimately associated with the wall intermediate layer and a rigid cover layer.
- the intermediate layer is made of a damping material, which converts the shear forces caused by bending vibrations into heat.
- the cover layer consists of a finishing layer of aluminum and a shear-resistant layer containing a plastic mixture of epoxy resin with glass beads. Between the cover layer and the wall there is a thin layer of polyurethane mixed with mica and glass microspheres.
- a known composite system used for the same purpose ( DE 36 21 318 A1 ) has an intimately connected to the bending wave-guiding wall damping layer, which is composed of at least one layer of damping material with high internal loss factor and at least one layer in the form of a fiber mat with at least in the propagation direction of the bending waves high tensile strength.
- the damping material viscoelastic material is used which is easy to apply to a body wall of any shape.
- the invention has for its object to improve a structure-decoupled transducer assembly from a plurality of trained as clay mushrooms with common back mass transducer elements so that the transducer elements do not influence each other in their vibration behavior.
- the transducer assembly according to the invention has the advantage that the oscillations of the individual ceramic bodies of the transducer elements do not propagate in the back mass and thus do not reach the ceramic bodies of the other transducer elements and trigger a vibration overlay there by the bending wave damping and / or absorbing structure of all transducer elements common back mass can.
- bending shaft absorber structure of the back mass thus influence the transducer elements not in their mutual vibration behavior, but behave the transducer elements despite their common back mass as individually constructed clay fungi with conventional front and back mass.
- the inventive construction of the back mass in a technically simple manner and without additional measures a Körerschallentkopplung the transducer assembly with respect to the carrier on which the transducer assembly is fixed, achieved because of the damping or absorption behavior of the back mass vibrations of the carrier not on the Ceramic body and the front masses of the transducer elements are transmitted.
- the thickness of the two metal plates and their intermediate layer of damping material determines the thickness of the back mass and is so small that the entire transducer assembly can be fixed, for example, with eight transducer elements on a cylinder base as a stave at the same footprint, as in a classical assembly with clay mushrooms in individual cases.
- the complete elastomer encapsulation is adapted to the wave impedance of the water and allows a freely selectable outer shape of the transducer assembly, so that a flush juxtaposed compact design of individual transducer assemblies in a row or surface can be realized.
- a cavity with seal is unnecessary because the ceramic body have a vibratory encapsulation. Due to the elastic encapsulation of the ceramic bodies, the bandwidth of the transmitted and / or received sound waves is also adapted to the locating task, since the resonance curve is widened by the encircling, and suppresses a propagation of modes in the transverse direction.
- the bending wave and structure-borne noise-absorbing intermediate layer is produced according to an advantageous embodiment of the invention made of elastic or viscoelastic material.
- the manufacturing process is particularly cost-saving and easy.
- On one of the metal plates Schallschluckschreibzugsmasse or Entdröhnungsstoff is troweled, which forms a constrained lining together with the other metal plate.
- damping material are also other absorbers in waterborne sound Usual materials can be used with advantage, such as rubber, Teroson, hard pressboard or damping foil.
- the back mass is not only optimally dimensioned according to the acoustic conditions, but also adapted to the space available by the wearer and a robust attachment of the tie rods of the transducer elements on the side facing away from the carrier of the back mass according to claim 4 allowed.
- the distances of the same constructed ceramic body and front masses corresponding to half the wavelength of their resonant frequency determines their number on the back mass, the extent of the transducer assembly or the Staves and thus the bundling of their directivity.
- a transducer arrangement with ceramic bodies of different height and / or suspension and / or front mass in non-equidistant arrangement on the common back mass has the advantage of broadband.
- the radiation resistance must be adapted to the effective resistance of the transducer elements.
- the radiation resistance depends on the mass ratio of all front masses to the common back mass. As a material for the front masses aluminum is particularly favorable and a mass ratio of more than 1: 3 to achieve.
- the advantage of the development according to the invention according to claim 9 consists in a cascading arrangement of, for example, four assembled via sockets and plug transducer assemblies with two integrated transducer elements, for example, are arranged one above the other and form a stave a cylinder base.
- the invention is described in more detail with reference to an embodiment of an electro-acoustic transducer assembly for transmitting and / or receiving sound waves with transducer elements in the manner of a clay mushroom in the drawing.
- a back mass 10 two transducer elements 11, 12 are mounted with their piezoelectric ceramic body 13, 13 'and their front mass 14, 14' made of aluminum with a tie rod 15 under bias.
- Each ceramic body 13, 13 ' consists of a stack of ceramic discs 13.1, 13.2, ..., 13.n with center hole through which the tie rod 15 is inserted for mounting and is screwed into a metal plate 101 of the back mass 10.
- the back mass 10 has a bending wave absorber structure.
- the ceramic body 13 has an encapsulation 16 made of silicone gel.
- the front mass 14, 14 has the shape of a metal cylinder 142 with subsequent truncated cone 141, which tapers conically and connects flush with its tip to the ceramic body 13.
- a waterproof full encapsulation 17 of polyurethane surrounds the transducer assembly and gives it the outer shape. Means for attaching the transducer assembly to its back on a support are not shown because they can be integrated into the full enclosure 17 individually for each support.
- a plug 18 and a socket 19 which is wired to leads for the transducer elements 11, 12 are.
- Their number of contacts depends on the application of the transducer assembly. Eight contacts are needed for a tower configuration with four converter arrangements and two converter elements which are plugged one above the other via plug and socket, for transmitting and / or receiving signals of each converter element.
