Description

The present invention relates generally to motor vehicle headlamps equipped with a discharge lamp.

Discharge lamps, in particular of the metal halide type (typically sodium iodide), are more and more frequently used as light sources in such projectors.

They enjoy in fact the appreciable advantage of being able, at comparable power consumption, to provide a much higher luminous intensity than in the case of conventional halogen filament lamps.

However, these lamps have the disadvantage of generating, at their arc, electromagnetic fields that pose a serious problem, vis-à-vis the requirements of electromagnetic compatibility, both transmission and reception, generally imposed by the notebooks charges. It will be observed in this regard that, by the development of electronic circuits providing certain safety functions on board a vehicle, these requirements are today more and more severe.

While there are provisions to shield as much as possible a discharge lamp and its supply circuits, but such provisions are generally incompatible with the specific environment of a motor vehicle headlamp. For example, it is impossible to have the entire projector in a Faraday cage completely surrounding it, because it is necessary to leave the light exit region at the ice.

It is also known from the document DE 197 03 233 a projector according to the preamble of claim 1, with a discharge lamp, provided with means for combating electromagnetic interference, using conductive tabs to provide electrical continuity between the lamp holder and the lamp connector.

The present invention aims to overcome these limitations of the state of the art, and to propose a motor vehicle headlight equipped with a discharge lamp and improved shielding means particularly at the arc of the lamp, which are of simple construction and implementation.

Another object of the invention is to ensure, without particular intervention, the electrical continuity between a high-voltage connector shield for a discharge lamp and other shielding components of the projector, as soon as the connector is put in place. .

  • FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic view in vertical axial section of a part of a projector according to a first embodiment of the invention,
  • FIG. 2 is a diagrammatic view in axial vertical section of part of a projector according to a second embodiment of the invention, and
  • FIG. 3 is a diagrammatic view in axial axial section of the projector part of FIG. 2.

Referring firstly to Figure 1, there is shown a motor vehicle headlight elliptical type which conventionally comprises a housing closed at the front by an ice and defining an interior space. These elements have not been shown in the drawings for the sake of simplification.

In the interior of the housing is housed a mirror 10 of the ellipsoidal kind in the region of the first focus of which a discharge lamp 20 is mounted.

A convex plane lens 40 is placed at the front of the mirror 10 in a well-defined geometric relation, being connected to the mirror by means of an intermediate part 30.

To have a good stability of its geometry in view of the high temperatures generated by the lit lamp, the mirror 10 is made of stamped sheet in a conventional manner per se, and is therefore electrically conductive.

In the bottom region of the mirror is mounted a lamp holder 50 also made of a conductive material. This lamp holder is preferably crimped on the edge of the lamp hole 11 of the mirror 10, using tabs 52, one of which is visible in FIG. 1, so as to ensure electrical continuity between the mirror 10 and the door -lamp 50.

La lampe 20 est alimentée de façon classique en soi par un connecteur haute-tension 60 rapporté de façon amovible à l'arrière du porte-lampe 50.The lamp 20 is fed in conventional manner by a high-voltage connector 60 removably attached to the rear of the lamp holder 50.

This connector comprises a shielded outer casing, made for example of conductive sheet metal.

Male-female connection elements (not shown), suitably insulated, provide the connection between the connector 60 and the lamp 20 mounted in the lamp holder.

In order to provide electrical continuity between the lamp holder 50 and the high-voltage connector 60, the lamp holder has a plurality of resiliently deformable metal tongues or tabs 51 extending rearward from the lamp holder. able to extend along and in contact with the envelope of the connector 60. In the present example, these tabs 51 are five in number and have in the region of their free rear ends 511 a generally shaped profile of "V" whose tip is directed towards the envelope of the connector 60. The position of these tabs at rest is such that, when the connector 60 is put in place, its envelope urges these tabs outwards, so that the The elastic restoring force thus created in turn urges the ends 511 of the tongues to remain in reliable contact with the envelope of the connector 60.

A satisfactory electrical continuity is thus achieved between the high-voltage connector 60, the lamp holder 50, the mirror 10 and, if appropriate, the intermediate piece 30, and therefore a good quality of shielding with respect to the disturbing electromagnetic emissions of the lamp 20.

It will be noted here that the tabs 51 can be made in one piece with the lamp holder 50, or be attached thereto and fixed for example by crimping.

Note also that one can provide other tabs 51 on the other side of the lamp holder.

The projector may also comprise a direct light cover made of sheet metal and placed in front of the lamp 20 inside the mirror 10.

Advantageously, this cover (not shown) is electrically connected to the lamp holder, to advantageously complete the shielding made by the other parts.

Maintenant en référence aux figures 2 et 3, on a représenté une autre forme de réalisation de l'invention, applicable en particulier aux projecteurs dont le miroir est réalisé par injection de matière thermodurcissable (projecteurs de type parabolique ou à surface réfléchissante auto-génératrice d'au moins une partie de la photométrie du faisceau).Referring now to FIGS. 2 and 3, there is shown another embodiment of the invention, applicable in particular to projectors whose mirror is made by injection of thermosetting material (parabolic-type projectors or self-generating reflective surface reflectors). at least part of the photometry of the beam).

To complete the shield of the discharge lamp 20, the mirror 10 has on its rear face an electrically conductive layer 12 made for example by overmolding the reflector material on or around a thin metal insert or by physical or chemical deposition an electrically conductive coating.

In this case, the discharge lamp 20 is fixed on the reflector with the aid of an at least partially metallic crown, generally designated by the reference 50 ', mounted on the annular rear end of a flange 13 surrounding the hole of lamp 11.

To achieve the electrical continuity between the shielding layer 12 and the ring 50 ', said layer 12 is extended at 121 at at least a portion of the outer face of the flange 13 of the mirror, then at 122 at the level of at least a portion of the annular end face of this same collar,

The ring 50 ', being attached and fixed - for example by screwing - on this annular end face, is thus in the electrical continuity of said layer 12.

De façon analogue à la forme de réalisation de la figure 1, la continuité du blindage avec le connecteur haute-tension 60 est réalisé à l'aide d'un ensemble de griffes métalliques 51 s'étendant ici en direction essentiellement radiale, vers l'intérieur, à partir de la couronne 50'.In a similar manner to the embodiment of FIG. 1, the continuity of the shielding with the high-voltage connector 60 is achieved by means of a set of metal claws 51 extending here in a substantially radial direction towards the inside, from the crown 50 '.

Ces griffes possèdent des régions d'extrémité libre en forme générale de «V » dont la pointe s'appuie contre l'enveloppe du connecteur 60.These claws have free end regions in the general shape of "V" whose tip rests against the envelope of the connector 60.

It is further observed that the metal shield 21 of the lamp 20, which also participates in the capture of parasitic electromagnetic radiation, is electrically connected to the ring 50 'via at least one tab 22 preferably made of in one piece with the concealer and passing along the lamp, inside the lamp hole 11.

Thus, in this configuration also, it ensures the continuity of the shielding between the connector 60, the crown 50 'lamp mounting, the conductive layer 12 of the mirror and the shield 21.
