Claims (10)

  1. Headlight with a discharge lamp for a motor vehicle having a concave reflector (1, 11, 21) in the bottom of which there is disposed a discharge lamp (2, 12, 22), characterised in that it has, inside the reflector (1, 11, 21), a metallic ring (4, 14, 24) which surrounds the discharge lamp (2, 12, 22) close to its cap and which is connected to earth.
  2. Headlight according to Claim 1, having a shield, characterised in that the said shield (3, 13, 23) is connected to earth.
  3. Headlight according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the internal face of the reflector (1, 11, 21) is connected to earth.
  4. Headlight according to Claims 2 and 3 taken in combination, characterised in that the shield (3, 13, 23) is fixed mechanically with respect to the reflector (1, 11, 21) by means of fixing lugs (6, 16, 26), which are in abutment on the internal face of the said reflector (1, 11, 21).
  5. Headlight according to Claim 4, characterised in that at least one fixing lug (6, 16, 26) passes through the reflector, its end outside the reflector cooperating with complementary means for ensuring the fixing of the said lug with respect to the reflector.
  6. Headlight according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the metallic ring (4) terminates in an annular rim (4a) by means of which it is fixed to the external face of the reflector.
  7. Headlight according to Claims 5 and 6, characterised in that the said fixing lug is fixed to the said rim (4a) which terminates the ring.
  8. Headlight according to Claim 4, characterised in that the metallic ring is fixed to the fixing lugs by means of elements (18, 28) which extend substantially radially between the said ring and the said lugs.
  9. Headlight according to Claims 5 and 8 taken in combination, characterised in that a fixing lug which extends through the reflector is folded back over an external protuberance (19) on the said reflector.
  10. Headlight according to Claims 5 and 8 taken in combination, characterised in that a fixing lug which extends through the reflector is folded back over a metallic annulus (30) screwed externally onto the reflector.
