Description

The present invention relates generally to motor vehicle headlamps equipped with a discharge lamp.

Discharge lamps, in particular of the metal halide type (typically sodium iodide), are more and more frequently used as light sources in such projectors.

They enjoy in fact the appreciable advantage of being able, at comparable power consumption, to provide a much higher luminous intensity than in the case of conventional halogen filament lamps.

However, these lamps have the disadvantage of generating, in their arcs, electromagnetic fields that pose a serious problem with respect to the requirements of electromagnetic compatibility, both in transmission and reception, generally imposed by the specifications. It will be observed in this regard that, by the development of electronic circuits providing certain safety functions on board a vehicle, these requirements are today more and more severe.

There are already provisions for shielding as much as possible a discharge lamp and these power circuits. So the document FR 2 783 593 describes a motor vehicle headlamp, comprising a reflector on which is fixed a lamp holder for mounting a discharge lamp and a high voltage connector adapted to be attached to the lamp mounted in the lamp holder, to ensure the power supply of this lamp. The reflector has an electrically conductive shielding layer. The lamp holder has a metal part fixed to the reflector so as to be in electrical contact with said layer. The connector has a metal shielding shell. The lamp holder or the connector has at least one elastically deformable conductive tongue capable of ensuring electrical continuity between the lamp holder and the connector during assembly of said connector.

However, this type of electromagnetic shielding, called "claw", does not always achieve the requirements in terms of shielding mentioned above.

The present invention aims to overcome the limitations of the state of the art, to ensure electrical continuity, within a projector, between the reflector and the lamp holder and thus allow good electromagnetic compatibility between these elements.

This object is achieved by means of a searchlight for a motor vehicle comprising an at least partially conducting reflector, a lamp holder for supporting a lamp through an orifice of the reflector, this lamp holder having a metal ring connected to the mass of the motor vehicle, and a conductive element electrically connecting the reflector and the metal ring, characterized in that the conductive element extends electrically continuously 360 degrees around the orifice to provide electromagnetic shielding between the reflector and the lamp holder .

In fact, thanks to the invention, a 360 ° conduction is carried out around the reflector and the lamp holder parts, to be mounted together. Thus, the shielding more effectively limits the leakage of electromagnetic waves and better meets the requirements of the specifications in terms of shielding.

  • l'élément conducteur est fixé au porte-lampe grâce à une rondelle de fixation, coopérant avec une structure du porte-lampe sans altérer le revêtement anti-corrosion de ce dernier, par exemple, la rondelle de fixation possède des languettes aptes à pénétrer dans une ouverture du porte-lampe ;
  • l'élément conducteur est fixé au réflecteur grâce à un collier ;
  • l'élément conducteur est apte à permettre un rattrapage du jeu éventuel entre le réflecteur et le porte-lampe ou un déplacement relatif entre le réflecteur et le porte-lampe ;
  • l'élément conducteur est constitué d'un matériau métallique tissé ;
Preferred but non-limiting aspects of the projectors according to the invention are the following:
  • the conductive element is fixed to the lamp holder by means of a fixing washer, cooperating with a structure of the lamp holder without altering the anti-corrosion coating of the latter, for example, the fixing washer has tabs adapted to penetrate into the lamp holder; an opening of the lamp holder;
  • the conductive element is attached to the reflector through a collar;
  • the conductive element is adapted to allow a catch of any play between the reflector and the lamp holder or a relative displacement between the reflector and the lamp holder;
  • the conductive element is made of woven metal material;
  • the conductive element has a spiral shape; and
  • the conductive element consists of cylindrical elements nested in each other.

According to another aspect, the invention relates to an electromagnetic shielding element for a motor vehicle, characterized in that it consists of a conductive element extending over 360 degrees about an axis and between an end intended to be electrically connected to a lamp holder and another end to be electrically connected to a conductive area at least partially filling at least one of the surfaces of a reflector.

  • la figure 1 est une vue schématique en coupe horizontale et axiale d'une partie d'un projecteur selon une première forme de réalisation de l'invention ;
  • la figure 2 est une vue de dessus d'un élément de blindage électromagnétique tel que celui équipant le projecteur de la figure 1 ;
  • la figure 3 est une vue schématique en coupe horizontale et axiale de l'élément de blindage représenté sur la figure 2 ;
Other aspects, objects and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent upon reading the following detailed description of preferred embodiments thereof, given by way of non-limitative examples and referring to the appended drawings in which:
  • the figure 1 is a schematic view in horizontal and axial section of a portion of a projector according to a first embodiment of the invention;
  • the figure 2 is a top view of an electromagnetic shielding element such as that fitted to the projector of the figure 1 ;
  • the figure 3 is a schematic view in horizontal and axial section of the shielding element shown in FIG. figure 2 ;
  • the figure 4 is a schematic top view of a washer for attaching an electromagnetic shielding element such as that shown in FIGS. figures 2 and 3 , on the projector represented at figure 1 ; and
  • the figure 5 schematically shows in perspective variants of the shielding element shown on the figures 2 and 3 .

With reference to the figure 1 a motor vehicle headlight is shown. Conventionally it comprises a housing closed at the front by an ice and defining an interior space, but these elements have not been shown in the drawings for the sake of simplification.

Dans l'espace intérieur du boîtier est logé un réflecteur 2 dans la région du fond duquel est monté un porte-lampe 4.In the interior of the housing is housed a reflector 2 in the region of the bottom of which is mounted a lamp holder 4.

The lamp holder 4 has means for fixing and positioning adjustment 6 of the lamp holder 4 in the housing. The lamp holder 4 also has a metal ring 8 connected to the mass of the motor vehicle.

La bague métallique 8 est percée de trois lumières 10 destinées à recevoir chacune respectivement un picot 12 d'une rondelle de fixation 14.The metal ring 8 is pierced with three slots 10 each for receiving a pin 12 of a fixing washer 14.

As shown on the figure 2 this fixing washer 14 consists of a metal washer whose edge corresponding to the inner diameter is provided with pins 12 extending radially towards the center of the washer. The pins 12 consist of a tongue which has, in section in a plane perpendicular to that of the washer and parallel to a radial direction, a V-shaped. The tabs constituting the pins 12 are flexible and resilient. The bottom of the V of each tongue penetrates into a light 10 ( Fig. 1 ). Folded thus, the tabs do not present sharp edges. Therefore, unlike self-locking washers type "circlip" often used in mechanics, the fixing washer 14 can be attached to the metal ring 8 without damaging the anti-corrosion coating thereof.

The reflector 2 is made by injecting thermosetting material (projector of the parabolic type or anotropic reflecting surface of at least a part of the photometry of the beam). To ensure shielding of the discharge lamp, the reflector 2 has on its rear face an electrically conductive layer 16 made for example by overmolding the thermosetting material of the reflector 2 on or around a thin metal insert or by physical or chemical deposition an electrically conductive coating. This electrically conductive coating is for example made of aluminum.

Un élément conducteur 18 de blindage relie électriquement la couche conductrice 16 à la bague métallique 8 (Fig.1).A conductive element 18 of shielding electrically connects the conductive layer 16 to the metal ring 8 ( Fig.1 ).

As shown on the figure 3 , this conductive element 18 consists of a cylindrical metal knit 19 stretched between an internal washer 20 integral with the fixing washer 14 (see also figure 4 ) intended to be mounted on the metal ring 8 of the lamp holder 4 and a collar 24 intended to be mounted on the reflector 2.

La rondelle de fixation 14 assure la continuité électrique entre l'élément conducteur 18 et la bague métallique 8.Fixing washer 14 provides electrical continuity between conductive element 18 and metal ring 8.

Le collier 24 assure la continuité électrique entre l'élément conducteur 18 et la couche conductrice 16.The collar 24 provides electrical continuity between the conductive element 18 and the conductive layer 16.

The metallic knit 19 is flexible and thus enables the electrical conduction between the reflector 2 and the lamp holder 4 to be continuously adapted without interruption to any existing gaps between these parts and / or when there is a relative displacement of these parts. (for a crossing of low beam, high beam for example).

The electrical continuity between the reflector 2 and the lamp holder 4 is thus perfectly maintained in all circumstances and is thus completely enveloping as required by the constraints related to classes of electromagnetic field to reach now.

Many variations to the embodiment set forth above can be envisaged.

La figure 5 en illustre quelques unes.The figure 5 illustrates some of them.

The figure 5a represents a conductive element 18 of shielding in the form of a spiral spring. The turns 26 of the spring must be quasi-contiguous so as to allow only a few electromagnetic waves to pass and thus allow a wraparound shield while allowing a possible relative movement of the reflector 2 and the lamp holder 4. The section of the turns 26 can be any.

The figure 5b represents a shielding conductive element 18 consisting of conductive cylindrical parts 28 nested one inside the other.

A reflector 2 made of thermosetting material has been described above, but the reflector 2 can be made of stamped sheet metal, in a conventional manner per se.

Similarly, the case in which the conductive element 18 is electrically connected to the metal ring 8 of a lamp holder 4 has been described above. But in a completely equivalent manner, the conductive element 18 may be electrically connected to a connector itself connected to the lamp or to another room capable of forming a shielding enveloping the projector.
