Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a sheathing tool according to the preamble of the claim 1.
  • Document DE-A-1 011 026 describes a sheathing tool corresponding to the preamble of claim 1.
  • electrical wiring generally consists of preparing one or more several bundles of wires on a mounting device, to bring the wires together means of adhesive ties or split plastic rings, and to be covered the whole of a corrugated split plastic sheath or of a wrapping an adhesive strip.
  • This sheathing or wrapping which is generally called sheathing has essential function of giving the beam a certain cohesion so as to be able to install it easily on a vehicle structural element. In addition, it forms a flexible coating which absorbs vibrations and absorbs shocks between the beam and structural element to avoid noise.
  • the cladding of small and medium diameter beams, such as those intended for motor vehicles, is most often achieved by helical wrapping performed manually using flexible adhesive tape, for example PVC. This operation turns out to be particularly long and of uncertain quality.
  • Another cladding method consists in wrapping the bundle in a ribbon in wrapping this ribbon transversely to itself around the bundle and joining the two side edges of this ribbon.
  • the ribbons currently used are made up polyurethane foam or adhesive felt and are thicker than those used for helical winding of small diameter bundles.
  • the implementation work of this process is extremely delicate manually.
  • the objective of the invention is to design a sheathing tool for a bundle of wires using a ribbon wrapped transversely to itself around the bundle.
  • a sheathing tool according to the invention is defined in claim 1.
  • a sheathing tool for a bundle of wires by wrapping this bundle in a flexible adhesive tape wound transversely to itself around the beam and whose edges longitudinal are joined by gluing comprising a chassis fitted with a wrapping head comprising a ribbon forming device, which is fixedly mounted on the chassis and which has a V-shaped return edge arranged to initiate a longitudinal folding of the ribbon, and at minus a first pair of jaws mounted on the chassis, movable between an open position and a closed position in which they are placed to each other by return means to ensure the gluing the longitudinal edges of the ribbon against each other the other and define between them an orifice for passage of the sheathed beam.
  • the shaping member initiates the winding transverse of the ribbon around the beam which is placed in the bottom of the V-shaped profile formed by the ribbon on this organ.
  • the V shape of the edge of the setting member shape allows to follow the different longitudinal strands tape a trajectory of the same length so avoid lengthening of the extreme lateral strands which may cause, upon subsequent retraction of these strands, bends or even local detachments ribbon.
  • the beam and the ribbon, before being united extend in directions different, so it is necessary to change the direction of incidence of at least one of them. As the beam is usually mounted stationary on a table mounting, it is easier to change the direction of incidence tape by forcing a change of direction (around 90 °) at the place of its meeting with the beam.
  • the passing beam in the bottom of the V formed by this organ is thus suitably plated and glued to the central part of the ribbon which corresponds to the bottom of the V-shaped profile formed by this ribbon.
  • the first pair of jaws folds down the longitudinal edges tape so as to stick these edges together the other by their adhesive faces.
  • the beam and the part of the ribbon which surrounds it are engaged in the orifice of passage delimited by these jaws.
  • the wrapping head comprises a second pair of jaws mounted on the chassis between the first pair of jaws and the shaping member, mobile between an open position and a closed position to which they are recalled by means of reminder and in which they define a ribbon pre-winding die around the bundle.
  • the central part of the ribbon is thus correctly wound around the beam which is itself properly wedged in the bottom of the V-shaped profile formed by the ribbon.
  • the longitudinal edges of the ribbon are folded towards each other, which makes it easier the next operation of gluing these edges which is made by the first pair of jaws.
  • the tape is adhesive, the central part of it, which is wrapped and pressed around the beam, is therefore stuck to it.
  • the sheathing tool comprises at least one guide beam alignment arranged on the chassis upstream of the wrapping head to align the beam with the opening for the first pair of jaws and the top of the V-shaped edge of the setting member form.
  • the beam is thus properly aligned with the bottom of the V-shaped profile formed by the ribbon.
  • the sheathing tool includes a second alignment guide for the bundle disposed downstream of the wrapping head.
  • the two alignment guides of the beam are constituted by two pulleys arranged on either side of the wrapping head.
  • the sheathing tool comprises a additional guide located upstream of the wrap head on one side of the beam opposite the alignment guide corresponding, this complementary guide being made up of two parts mounted on the chassis to be mobile, one relative to each other between a closed position in which they are joined and an open position in which they are separated from each other for allow the passage of the beam.
  • the V-shaped surface of the shaping has two end edges turned one towards each other so as to form holding stops for the longitudinal edges of the ribbon.
  • Figure 1 schematically illustrates the principle sheathing of a bundle 1 of wires 2 such as cables electric.
  • This sheathing is carried out by means of a tape 3 having a flattened initial configuration represented in mixed lines.
  • the sheathing is carried out by winding the ribbon 3 transversely to itself around bundle 1 so to wrap this one.
  • the ribbon 3 then presents longitudinally a part 4 wound around the bundle 1 and forming a sheath, and longitudinal edges 5 which are folded against each other.
  • Ribbon 3 has one side adhesive against which beam 1 is placed, the longitudinal edges 5 being glued to each other by this adhesive side.
  • Ribbon 3 can be made of any material flexible, that is to say not only of polyurethane foam, felt or the like usually used for cladding by manual transverse winding of the beams medium and large diameters, but also of any other finer material (PVC, woven or non-woven fibers, etc.) usually used for helical cladding bundles of small diameters.

  • the surface 22 with a V-profile of the member 21 has two end edges 23 turned one towards each other so as to form stops for maintaining the longitudinal edges 5 of the ribbon 3.
  • the wrapping head 20 also includes a first pair of jaws 24 mounted on a block 19 for pivot around two axes 25 parallel to the edges of bottom 22.1 and 43 of surfaces 22 and 21 with a V-profile. Jaws 24 rotate in opposing movements between an open position and a closed position to which they are recalled by a recall body elastic 26.
  • This return member is here produced under the shape of a helical spring coupled by each of its two ends to nipples 27 integral with the jaws 24.
  • the pins 27 are arranged so that, when the opening of the jaws 24, the spring 27 passes from the other side of the plane defined by axes 25 so that cross a "hard point" beyond which this spring 26 maintains the jaws 24 in their open position.
