Definitions
- the invention relates to a flat plug contact element for electrical plug connections, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such flat plug contact members are used in various electrical connectors, e.g. B. in automotive connectors, used.
- spring socket contacts in use, usually in larger numbers in contact chambers of an insulating housing, e.g. B. a female connector, be used.
- insulating housing e.g. B. a female connector
- Overspring is required to hold tabs and socket contacts of different sizes accordingly trained insulating housing with contact chambers, each are adapted to the size of the contact used.
- the invention has for its object a tab connector contact of the type mentioned at the outset without impairment its actual and possibly additional functions create that already in and for larger contacts used receiving body can be used.
- the intermediate area with the side in the area of the two side walls protruding, unyielding lugs is formed, the lugs in the area of the bottom wall increase the actual width of the intermediate area transverse to the side walls and the size of these approaches the difference between the cross section of the Intermediate area and the cross section of one for a shot adapted to the rectangular area provided for the intermediate area is, the cross section at least in the direction transverse to the side walls of the intermediate area is larger than that corresponding cross section of the intermediate area.
- Such a flat plug contact element basically has one similar or even the same structure as usual Socket contacts and has an intermediate area in cross section rectangular box shape. It could therefore be matching cross section usually also in recording rooms of existing insulating housings used for socket contacts be used. To do this even with different Cross-sectional sizes, d. H. if the cross section of a existing recording space is larger than the cross section in Intermediate area of the tab connector contact element, to enable is the intermediate area of the tab connector contact element according to the invention trained with side approaches. Thereby it is possible to insert the tab connector into existing ones Recording rooms, such as B. contact chambers of housings, use that already use for wider socket contacts Find. Because the box-shaped intermediate area with the help the approaches now for a larger chamber, d. H.
- the tab connector contact element for one Inclusion of larger cross section required geometry (Width) has, the tab connector contact element according to the invention compatible with an existing contact chamber and - with the chamber cross-section corresponding to its height Intermediate area - when inserted into such a contact chamber through its side approaches and its roof wall a three-point edition.
- the formation of the invention Flat plug contact element with lateral approaches in the intermediate area has the advantage that one out of one Stamped bent part manufactured flat plug contact element at same division with an existing machining tool manufactured and in an existing contact chamber existing housing can be used. To this Wise is the change in the pitch of a tab connector contact element, the production of a new processing tool and a new housing for the accommodation of a flat plug contact element avoided.
- the tab connector contact element shown in Figures 1 to 3 1 is from a stamped and bent part 2, z. B. from a highly conductive Cu alloy manufactured that - like the settlement of the stamped and bent part 2 hanging on a sheet metal strip 18
- Figure 5 best shows - a connection area A on a End, an intermediate area following the connection area Z and a contact area K protruding therefrom at the other end having.
- the stamped and bent part 2 has a uniform thickness, for. B. from 0.3 mm to about 0.4 mm.
- connection area A formed by bending a line connection element, which is designed as a crimping or insulation displacement element 4.
- connection area A following Intermediate area Z has a bottom wall 6, two side walls 7 and 8 and a roof wall 9 on one of the side walls is set up and arranged so that the intermediate area Z in the bent state a closed, rectangular in cross section Has box shape.
- the contact element of the flat plug contact element provided in the contact area K. is from one of two halves 10a, 10b existing contact knife 10 and has - as below is described - in the final state twice the material thickness, thus a thickness of z. B. 0.63 mm or 0.8 mm.
- the knife half 10a runs in the longitudinal direction aligned with the floor wall and is beveled at the end 11 trained.
- the second knife half 10b is natural as long as the first knife half 10a and in Longitudinally aligned on the roof wall 9 of the intermediate area Z tied.
- the roof wall 9 is cut with a resilient locking hook 22 for locking or primary securing in the arrangement of the contact element in the contact chamber of a housing.
- the box shape of the intermediate area Z is created by folding the side walls 7, 8 and the roof wall 9 at the bending lines B1, B2 and B3.
- the knife halves 10a and 10b also become a contact knife 10 with twice the original material thickness folded laterally and brought to cover, the Bevels 11 form the knife tip.
- the intermediate region Z now has the shape of a cross section rectangular box on which the fully folded Contact knife 10 due to a corresponding approximately 90 ° offset 12 in the middle with respect to the height h of the intermediate area projects.
- the basis is the locking hook 22 via the crank 12 to the contact area over to the largest possible spring length (elastic range) to reach the locking hook.
- the two knife halves 10a and 10b additionally in the fully folded state still be mechanically connected.
- This connection then expediently takes place at two points 28, 29 in the area the two ends of the contact knife 10, for. B. by a Embossing 28 in the area of the central axis of the contact knife and two embossments 29, 30 or so-called clinch connections sideways and mirrored to the central axis of the Contact knife 10.
- the approaches 23 to 26 and thus the corresponding Separation cuts in the area of the transition from the floor wall 6 of the intermediate area Z to the side walls 7, 8 is provided.
- the cross to the roof wall 9 and the bottom wall 6, corresponds to the Cross section of the intermediate area Z, i.e. its height h exactly the cross section of the contact chamber 34, which together with other contact chambers of the same size as a receiving space for similar flat plug contact elements in one made of insulating material existing housing is provided.
- This housing can otherwise also be used to accommodate spring socket contacts with a cross section exactly corresponding to the contact chamber 34 serve.
- the tab connector is 1 thus through the side lugs 23 to 26 mated to the contact chamber 34 in this and through the roof wall 9 opposite the approaches 23 to 26 as well as through the bottom wall 6 of the intermediate area Z in the Contact chamber 34 supported.
- the rear edge 19 of the side walls 7, 8 together with the rear edge 20 of the roof wall 9 is a system for a secondary fuse in the arrangement of the contact element in a housing forms.
- Figure 5 it can also be seen that in the area of Bending line B3 or the longitudinal edge 14 of the side wall 8 laterally the flap 16 mainly for manufacturing reasons an elongated free cut 17 is provided.
- the illustrated preferred embodiment of an inventive Contact organ forms a one-piece flat plug with a high power transferability, has a snap hook for primary securing and locking in an insulating housing, Contact surfaces for a secondary fuse and a Polarization against incorrect insertion and overbend protection for the locking hook.
- This embodiment thus fulfills all of them Claims currently made to such contact bodies and is also plug-compatible for wider contacts existing contact chambers provided in existing housings.
