Definitions
- the present invention relates to a feed device, in particular to a Feeder for feeding flat products from a stack to a transport device.
- each feeder has a magazine with a stack preferably on the back of standing signatures.
- Each investor includes one Separating device in which a signature is opened at its open end and then is placed on the saddle.
- Such a device is e.g. B.
- Another type of transport device for gathering signatures is that So-called collation machine, in which the signatures or sheets of Transport device are fed lying flat on one side, the Transport device usually consists of a flat conveyor belt.
- Such a thing System is e.g. B. described in US 3,717,337.
- To collect the signatures is one A large number of feeders are arranged above or next to the conveyor belt.
- the magazines of the Feeders are loaded with a stack of individual signatures, and each feeder has one Isolation device, the individual signatures lying on the stack Conveyor belt feeds.
- a gathering machine is described in EP 0 543 472 A1, the feeder for Feeding flat products, with the feeder holding multiple stacks flat products. Separating devices are also described which repeatedly pull sheets from all stacks and lead them to the delivery station. The isolation the sheets of all stacks are made simultaneously.
- Both the saddle stitcher and the gathering machine usually have one Distance from each other on the driver, the assembled book blocks keep separate and reliable transport of the collected Ensure signatures on the transport device by keeping the trailing edge of the signatures push forward. The distance between these drivers determines the maximum size of the signatures or sheets that can be gathered on the transport device.
- the investors described above were especially in a way to save costs further developed that they can be loaded with two batches of signatures and two Have separating devices that the transport device simultaneously from each add a signature to the stack.
- This arrangement enables simultaneous Feeding two individual signatures to the transport device, the two Feeders can be powered by a single drive and some more shared components such as B. have side frames, axles or cams can.
- Some elements of the first and second separating device of such Investors, which is also called double feeder, work synchronously, so the signatures handed over to the conveyor belt at the same time, when one of the Carrier of the transport device a position in the middle between the first and the second separation device of a double feeder has reached.
- Double feeder in this known construction work reliably up to a gathering speed 10,000 pieces per hour, the distance between the carriers about 61 cm (24 inches) is.
- Another possibility of increasing the production speed is one Increase the number of signatures transported per unit of time without simultaneous Increase the speed of the transport device. This could e.g. B. by a Reduction of the distance between the carriers on the transport chain and through a Reducing either the spacing or the width of the two batches of signatures in the Magazine can be effected by the same amount. Because of the mechanical components there is no reduction in the distance between the two stacks between the signature stacks possible. However, reducing the stack width leads to an undesirable one Limiting the maximum signature size, which is in no way customer interests equivalent.
- the aim of the present invention is accordingly the number of the collected to increase multi-page copies without damaging the signatures and without one causing unwanted reduction in maximum signature size.
- a feed device for feeding flat products such as B. sheets or signatures to one Transport device according to the characterizing part of claim 1 solved.
- the signatures to be compiled are preferably alternately successively by the two stacks in a magazine. This timing of feeding allows you to take a signature from the first batch and then take turns to create a signature from the second stack in a magazine in a way that the Requirements for shortening the distance between the carriers on the transport device equivalent. This way, the signatures of two in one double feeder set up stacks in the correct place on the conveyor belt, e.g. B. on one Saddle chain or a flat conveyor belt, are passed without the maximum Signature size is undesirably reduced.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic top view of a large number of feeders 12, 14, 16 according to FIG of the present invention, which is above or as shown in FIG. 1 next to one Transport device 10 can be arranged on the individual signatures collected and transported.
- Each feeder 12, 14, 16 can have two at a time Record signature batches 20 and 22, 24 and 26, 28 and 29.
- everyone includes Feeders 12, 14, 16 two separating devices (see FIG. 2) that have a single signature from the first and the second stack of a takeover point on the Feed the transport device 10.
- the individual Signatures 20a, 22a, 24a, 26a and 28a transported in the direction of the arrow.
- Each of the feeders 12, 14, 16 further includes one Device by which the supply of the signatures is timed in a manner is that alternately one signature from the first stack and then one Signature of the second stack of the magazine of the transport device 10 fed becomes.
- the double feeder 12 can, for. B. be considered as the first investor, which of Transport device 10 individual sheets 20a and 22a one after the other of the two Stack 20, 22 supplies.
- the transfer point 19 becomes one individual signature 20a supplied so that the signature 20a covers the takeover point 19.
- the signature 20a thus becomes the lowest signature of a book block that is on the Transport device 10 is collected.
- the Transport device 10 first fed the signature 20a from the first stack 20, and then the signature 22a from the second stack 22. As soon as that of the transport device 10 supplied signature 20a passes the second signature stack 22 of the feed device 12, a single signature 22a is stored on the signature 20a.
- the Transport device 10 from a feeder 12 two generally different Signatures supplied, not simultaneously, but one after the other. The other, the Investors 12 downstream investors 14 and 16 work in the same way.
- the single ones Signatures 24a, 26a and 28a are the transport device 10 from their respective Stacked in the same way.
- FIG. 2 shows a schematic side view of a separating device according to the present invention.
- a double feeder 14 comprises two Separating devices 35, 37, which are arranged so that both on the Side frame 15 of the feed device 14 are attached and other common components have, e.g. B. the shaft 32 and the module drive 38.
- the first Separating device 35 and the second separating device 37 of the feeder 14 are arranged at a distance from each other that is greater than the distance of the Driver 40 on the saddle chain 30.
- the distance between the separating devices 35, 37 can e.g. B. 60.96 cm (24 inches), while the distance between the drivers 40 z. B. Can be 53.34 cm (21 inches).
- the Signatures 24a and 26a are not simultaneously fed to the saddle chain 30 if one the driver 40 the middle between the two separating devices 35 and 37 happens because the signature 24a is not correctly in the space between the Carriers 40 would be positioned on the saddle chain 30. So that the signatures 24a and 26a must be positioned at the correct transfer point on the saddle chain 30 the moving saddle chain 30 are fed in succession, which z. B. by the Generation of a time delay between the transfer of the first signature 24a and the transfer of the second signature 26a to the saddle chain 30 can be achieved. This time delay causes a successive handover of the first first signature 24a and then the second signature 26a to the correct transfer points on the saddle chain 30.
- the Saddle chain 30 has already been supplied with a signature 24a in such a way that the signature 22a covered. At this point, however, is in the second area Separating device 37 has not yet passed the signature 26a to the saddle chain 30 Service.
- At least one of the separating devices 35, 37 comprises one Device for timing the transfer of signatures in such a way that the handover takes place one after the other.
- each comprises Separating device two drum arrangements, each a so-called Singling drum 31, an inner opening drum 34, 34 'and an outer Opener drum 36, 36 'include.
- the outer opening drum 36 of the first Separating device 35 and the outer opening drum 36 'of the second Separating device 37 are shown in Fig. 2, in which the opening drum 36 of the first Separating device 35 based on their angle of rotation signatures to an earlier one Output time as the opening drum 36 'of the second separating device 37.
- Die outer opening drum 36 'of the second singulation device 37 accordingly cooperates a delay that causes the signature 26a to last longer on the opening drum 36 ' remains while the signature 24a is already stored, and the signatures 24a, 26a be created accordingly one after the other.
- FIG. 3a shows the position of the drum arrangements of the separating device 35
- FIG. 3b shows the drum arrangement of the separating device 37 at the same time t 0 .
- Each of the separating devices 35, 37 comprises a separating drum 31, 31 ', an inner opening drum 34, 34' and an outer opening drum 36, 36 '. Both separating drums 31, 31 'rotate in the direction indicated by the arrow.
- Gripper elements 42, 42 ' are arranged on each singling drum 31, 31'. Since the singling drums 31, 31 'rotate in the same direction and the gripper elements 42, 42' assume the same relative position on the respective singling drum 31, 31 ', the singling drums 31, 31' rotate in phase.
- the gripper element 42 passes the signature stack 24 at the same time as the gripper element 42 'passes the signature stack 26.
- Both signatures 24a, 26a are fed to their respective guide surfaces 46, 46 'and moved into a backstop position which is determined by the rear stops 44, 44' and in which grippers 42, 42 'open simultaneously and release the individual signatures 24a, 26a ,
- both individual signatures 24a, 26a are withdrawn in phase from their corresponding stack 24, 26 and brought into their corresponding backstop position, since the singling drums 31, 31 'rotate in phase with the same rotational speed.
- the opener drum 34 rotates in the direction of the arrow and the grippers arranged on the inner opener drum 34 grip the signature 24a which is in the backstop position.
- the signature 26a is also in the backstop position; however, the inner opener drum 34 'rotates out of phase and delayed with respect to the inner opener drum 34 so that the grippers located on the inner opener drum 34' do not grasp the signature 26a at the same time.
- the signature 24a is drawn off from the guide surface 46 at a time t 1 .
- the inner opening drum 34 'of the second application device 37 has already taken hold of the signature 26a at the same time and is starting to pull it off the guide surface 46'. Since the rotational speeds of the two inner opening drums 34, 34 'are essentially identical, the signature 24a is ahead of the signature 26a, so that both the movement of the two signatures 24a, 26a and the rotational movement of the two inner opening drums 34, 34' are out of phase is.
- the singling drums 31, 31 ' still rotate in phase at a time t 2 and are in a position in which they can take the next individual signature from the signature stacks 24, 26.
- the rotational movement of the inner opening drum 34 is matched to the movement of the grippers arranged on the outer opening drum 36. Accordingly, the outer opener drum 36 can grasp the signature 24a and, as shown in Figure 5a, begins to open it above the center of the saddle chain 30.
- the signature 26a is still pulled off from the guide surface 46 'by the inner opening drum 34' of the separating device 37 and has not yet been grasped by the grippers arranged on the outer opening drum 36 '.
- FIGS. 6a and 6b show the positions of the separating devices 35 and 37 at a time t 3 after further rotary movement of the drums.
- the grippers arranged on the respective singling drum 31, 31 ' continue to move in phase and take the next individual signature which is drawn off from the respective stack 24, 26. Both signatures are moved in the direction of the respective rear stop 44, 44 'and fed to the respective guide surface 46, 46'.
- the first inner opening drum 34 and the first outer opening drum 36 have moved at a time t 3 into a position in which the grippers arranged on the two opening drums 34, 36 have transferred the signatures to the saddle chain 30.
- the inner opening drum 34 'and the outer opening drum 36' are still delayed, so that the grippers arranged on the opening drums 34 ', 36' are still there, the signature 26a over the center of the saddle chain 30 to open, and continue to hold on.
- the separating devices 35, 37 can be designed in a manner that some components of the 35, 37 move in phase while other components move out of phase.
- 3 to 6 has been shown by way of example how the Singling drums 31, 31 'move in phase while the Opener drum pair 34, 36 of the first separating device 35 with respect to the Opener drum pair 34 ', 36' of the second separating device 37 out of phase emotional.
- FIG. 7a and b show a fastening device for adjusting the position and for Attaching the inner opening drums 34, 34 'or the outer opening drums 36, 36', by means of which the inner opening drums 34, 34 'and the outer opening drums 36, 36' in be arranged at a certain angle to each other.
- the inner ones Opener drums 34, 34 'and the outer opener drums 36, 36' generally have one common shaft 32 on.
- the opening drums can both in immovable positions also be adjustable on the shaft.
- the shaft 32 can be used to attach the opener drums
- the opening drum by means of a clamping ring 56 on the Shaft 32 are attached, the clamping ring 56 z. B. by (not shown) screws is attached to the drum 36.
- the opening drum 36 is in the of Positioning mark 50 displayed correct position mounted on the shaft 32.
- a clamping screw 58 By Tightening a clamping screw 58 closes a gap 54 and the clamping ring 56 holds the opening drum 36 on the shaft 32 in the correct position.
- the clamping ring 56 For the correct one Positioning the clamping ring 56 on the positioning mark 50 can the clamping ring 56 in advantageously also have a positioning mark that is in a precisely determined Relationship to the positioning mark 50 must be brought. However, it is also possible align a notch in the clamping ring with the positioning mark 50.
- Singling drums of the first and second singling device it is possible to Singling drums of the first and second singling device to be arranged out of phase on a common shaft.
- the use of such Embodiment enables the transfer of individual signatures from a first and a second stack of signatures on a flat conveyor belt. In this case there is no the need to open the signatures, and accordingly it is possible to open the signatures to be transferred to the flat conveyor belt without opening drums being used have to.
