Ferner ist problematisch, wenn sich Folienabschnitte nach außen umschlagen oder in Ecken- oder Kantenbereichen ansammeln, da dies beim Übereinanderstapeln von Verpackungsgütern dazu führen kann, daß diese in Schräglage kommen und ein größerer Stapel von Verpackungsgütern nicht sicher gelagert bzw. transportiert werden kann. Es ist daher bei Folienumschlaganlagen äußerst wichtig, den Schrumpfungsprozeß möglichst präzise steuern und regulieren zu können. Dabei sind die vertikalen Rückstellkräfte beim Schrumpfungsprozeß und das optische Aussehen u. a. davon abhängig, ob der Folienrand während des oder nach dem Schrumpfen obenauf bzw. unter der Lage sauber angeordnet ist und dort trotz der durch das Schrumpfen entstehenden horizontalen und vertikalen Rückstellkräfte verbleibt und nicht über den Kantenbereich zurückgezogen wird.The film envelopes are essentially packed at one station Well attached and then the material with the foil cover transported to another station where the heat treatment takes place. In besonders vorteilhafter Weise wird durch den Gegenstand der Erfindung
sichergestellt, daß sich das überstehende freie Folienstück des Folienumschlags
vor oder während des Schrumpfprozesses nicht gegen die Ober- oder Unterseite
des Gutes anlegt, sondern gegenüber dem Gut im wesentlichen aufgerichtet
und gestreckt gehalten wird, während die im wesentlichen auf die Ecken
gerichteten Heizeinrichtungen die Folie in den Eckbereichen auf das Verpackungsgut
aufschrumpfen. Hierdurch wird gewährleistet, daß sich die Ecken sauber
auf die Oberseite bzw. gegen die Unterseite des Verpackungsgutes anlegen
und die dazwischenliegenden Folienabschnitte unter Einwirkung der horizontalen
und vertikalen Schrumpfkräfte glattgezogen und faltenfrei gegen die Ober- bzw.
Unterkante anliegen. Zum Ausrichten insbesondere Strecken der überstehenden
Folienstücke des Folienumschlags können verschiedene Maßnahmen ergriffen
werden. So ist gemäß einem ersten Ausführungsbeispiel vorgesehen, daß
zentral zum Verpackungsgut ein Luftstrahl in das offene Folienstück eingeleitet
wird. Da der Folienumschlag in seinem Querschnitt in etwa dem Querschnitt des
Verpackungsgutes entspricht und gegebenenfalls der Zwischenraum noch durch
das Produkt schützende Stoßleisten aus Styropor oder dergleichen abgedichtet
ist, wird der Luftstrahl von der Oberseite bzw. Unterseite des Verpackungsgutes
abgelenkt bzw. umgelenkt und entlang der Flächen des Folienumschlags abgeleitet.
Dadurch werden diese Folienteile in Längsrichtung der Erstreckung des Folienumschlags
ausgerichtet bzw. aufgerichtet und gestreckt, so daß ein unregelmäßiges
Ablegen der Folienränder auf der Ober- bzw. Unterseite und damit die
oben bezeichneten Nachteile vermieden werden. Dieser Luftstrom kann beheizt
sein, so daß Wärmeverluste bei den von außen auf die Ecken einwirkenden Heizeinrichtungen
