Anschließend werden die Hubzylinder 25 betätigt, so daß auch die Schiebeplatten 20 und 21 von der Vorderseite und/oder Rückseite des Gutstapels 3 unter die Palette 2 geschoben werden, wobei sie die zugeordneten Ränder 11 der Schrumpfhaube 7 glatt unter die Palette 2 legen. Im Überlappungsbereich 27 zwischen den Schiebeplatten 20 und 22 entsteht eine saubere Faltung nach Art einer Bodenfaltung bei einer Schachtel. Die Schiebeplatten 22 können dann wieder zurückgezogen werden. Die zugeordneten Ränder 11 werden durch Strömungskräfte und zumindest bereichsweise auch durch die Faltung im Überlappungsbereich 27 unter der Palette 2 gehalten. Wenn nunmehr die Palette 2 mit den Schiebeplatten 20, 21 abgesenkt wird, dann werden die umgeschla- , genen, flach unter der Palette 2 liegenden Ränder 11 zwischen dieser und den Spuren 6 des Kettenförderers 1 eingeklemmt. 1. 7. Apparatus according to claim 6, characterised in that the suction fan 10 is arranged between the supporting arms 9 of the forked elevating platform.
8. Apparatus according to one of claims 4-7, characterised by retaining devices mounted in the area of the shrinking station 5 for pressing the shrinkable hood 7 against the free sides of the stack of goods 3.
9. Apparatus according to claim 4, characterised in that the tools are constructed as arms 12, 13, which can be rotated around vertical axes 14, 15 and which extend in a horizontal direction beneath the underside of the pallet.

Apparatus according to one of claims 4 to 12, characterised in that the arms 12, 13 are each arranged at approximately 1/4 and approximately 3/4 of the pallet dimension in the direction of the conveyor and at a distance of approximately 1/4 of this dimension from the associated narrow side of the pallet 2.
