Definitions
- the present invention relates to an electrical Plug connection for those provided with pyrotechnic agents Restraint systems in motor vehicles according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the object of the present invention is an electrical To create a connector of the type mentioned at the one with the plugging process a visible to the user There is an indication of whether the contact connection in Is okay or not.
- the measures according to the invention with the help of Coil spring achieves a so-called ejection effect, i.e. that the connector then from the coil spring is pushed back when the connection from Connector and connector in not or still is not given correctly. This is always ensured that either the contact connection is electrically correct, or otherwise that Is made apparent to the user when the Contact connection not or not correctly is carried out, since only when the latching is present is or is holding, the correct contact connection has been reached.
- Another advantage is that the Contact connection and the snap connection different pairs of components is divided.
- Housing of the connector which has a supply line is connected to the concentric contact sleeves can be twisted. This is especially so with such Plug-in connections advantageous, where an angled Access to the lines and thus an angled housing on Connector is provided. That is how it is Establish the connector where the connector is relatively hidden, relieved.
- the preferred in the drawing Embodiment shown electrical Plug connection 10 (FIG. 1) is used, for example, with pyrotechnic restraint systems, such as Airbags, belt tensioners and the like in motor vehicles used.
- the electrical connector 10 is in essentially from a connector 11 (FIGS. 2-4) and a connector plug 12 ( Figures 5-8). It is the connector 11 in a manner not shown by means of a metallic housing 13 part of the pyrotechnic By means, so built into this.
- the plug connection 10 can also be used for data transport Ring lines or the like. Find use.
- the plug connector 11 has a plug housing 15 Plastic, a coil spring 16 made of electrically conductive Material and a central contact part in the form of a Pin 17.
- the socket housing 15 is essentially cylindrical and has one example around the central area an annular recess in Form of a circumferential annular groove 18. Between the am The outer circumferential annular groove 18 and the one in FIG. 2 the lower end of the plug-in housing 15 is an annular rim 19 molded.
- Within the socket housing 15 is a Intermediate floor 20 arranged on the bottom of the Plug-in housing 15 towards a cylindrical body 21 is molded, which two parallel axial Passage recesses 22 and 23 has that in not shown way also penetrate the intermediate floor 20.
- One recess 22 is centered on the axis of the cylindrical body 21 arranged, while this parallel recess 23 is eccentric.
- the eccentric Recess 23 can also be through one of the outer circumference incorporated axial groove or the like can be formed.
- the central recess 22 is the central one Contact pin 17 added. From the intermediate floor 20 protrudes to upper end of the socket housing 15 towards a second however smaller cylindrical body 24 in diameter, which is provided with a conical surface 25 at its free end is.
- the second cylindrical body 24 has one central bore 26 that with the central recess 22 in the first cylindrical body 21 and in Intermediate floor 20 is aligned.
- the helical spring 16 which is made of spring steel, for example is formed, has several, here seven coils 28. Von the lowest coil 28 of the coil spring 16 is a straight spring end 29 in the axial direction from such that this spring end 29 in the eccentric recess 23rd in the intermediate floor 20 and in the first cylindrical body 21 can penetrate.
- the uppermost one of the coils 28 has one Spring end 31 that from a peripheral region of this upper Spiral radially inwards, i.e. bent by about 90 °, protrudes ( Figure 2).
- the first lower Spring end 29 penetrates the eccentric recess 23 and protrudes downwards from this (FIG. 4).
- the lower of the coils 28 of the coil spring 16 on the Intermediate floor 20.
- the top second spring end 31, for this purpose in the radial direction centric contact pin 17 is biased extends in a direction perpendicular or orthogonal to axial direction of the central contact pin 17th
- the connector plug 12 has a plastic housing 37, the one from a socket housing part 36 and a cross for this running cable connection housing part 38 with cover 39 is composed. It is also possible that Cable connection housing part coaxial to To arrange socket housing part 36. Furthermore owns the connector 12 two concentric to each other arranged contact sleeves 41, 42, between which a hollow cylindrical ferrite core 43 is provided and in essentially taken from the socket housing part 36 are.
- the outer contact sleeve 41 ( Figure 8A) is made of a flat Sheet metal shaped such that three axial slots 46, 47, and 48 are provided in the peripheral wall, of which the Slot 46 over the entire length of the contact sleeve 41 runs. This results in three in the bottom End faces 49, 50 and 51 arranged circumferentially. Am The upper end is the contact sleeve 41 with one in the area of the axial slot 46 notched and tangential bent connecting web 42 provided at its free End of V-crimp bars 53, 54 bent at right angles.
- the inner contact sleeve 42 (FIG 8B), i.e. it is rolled from a flat sheet and punched, with a tangentially projecting connecting web 56 with V crimp bars 57, 58 are provided.
- Circumferential axially extending contact tabs 59, 60 are notched, which are bent inwards towards each other and on theirs free ends to form an insertion opening are bent back.
- Both Connecting webs 52 and 56 are in the assembled state, as shown in Figures 1 and 6, in one plane and in parallel to each other.
- the ferrite core 43 and the contacts 41 and 42 do not touch at any point.
- the leadership and isolation is formed by a plastic wall, while the Concentricity of contact sleeves 41, 42 and ferrite core 43 given by corresponding recesses in the molded body is.
- the ends 62, 63 are two in parallel insulated electrical wires 64 and 65 through holes 66 of another ferrite core 67 inserted in the Cable connection housing 38 is added.
- the ends 62, 63 are in the openings 68, 69 of the V-crimp bars 53, 54 and 57, 58 inserted.
- By closing and locking the here only schematically represented cover 39 become the wire ends 62, 63 by means of the cover 39, not shown here Approaches pressed into the V crimp bars in such a way that the Insulation of the wires cut through and electrical Connection between the wire ends 62, 63 and the Crosspieces 52, 56 is produced.
- the Locking edge 74 can, as in FIG. 7, in cross section arc-shaped, but it can also be sawtooth-shaped be trained.
- the hollow cylindrical part 71 has in addition to its central bore 77 three ring-section-shaped axial slots 78, 79 and 80 in which the corresponding Legs of the outer contact sleeve 41 are received, the end faces 49 to 51, as shown in Figure 6 protrudes downward from the slots 78 to 80 ( Figure 7).
- the bottom 76 of the Cable connection housing 38 with corresponding recesses the one with the bore 77 or the slots 78 to 80 align, provide.
- the contact pins 17 and 29 of the Connector 11 when the connector is not inserted 12 short-circuited, so that an ignition of the pyrotechnic Funds due to external electrical influences in the Initial assembly or repair or one Safety check of the restraint system is not possible.
- the insertion process is with the safe electrical separation of helical spring 16 and centric Contact pin 17 only ends when the Locking edge areas 74 of the connector 12 in the annular groove 18 of the connector 11 arrive or snap.
- This means that the insertion length is such that the upper second spring end 31 of the helical spring 16 itself Safety has lifted off the central contact pin 17. Is when plug connector and Connector does not reach the snap connection, is at Let go of the connector 12 due to this the helical spring 16 biased by the insertion process ejected from the connector 11. This is for the User a clear and visible sign that the contact connection is insufficient or insufficient Dimensions has been reached.
