Definitions
- the invention relates to a contact carrier for an electrical Multiple connector, with two contact carrier halves electrically insulating material, in each of which several in Continuous cavities in the axial direction for receiving electrical conductive contact parts are formed, the cavities in the contact carrier halves in pairs with each other in the axial direction aligned.
- Such two-part contact carrier made of contact carrier halves are known in different variants.
- the two contact carrier halves from z. B. plastic or ceramic are used Variety of electrically conductive contact parts, such as contact pins or contact sockets, electrically isolated from each other.
- the two-part design of the contact carrier has usually the purpose of inserting the electrically conductive To allow contact parts in the contact carrier in a simple manner. In the assembled state of the contact carrier must the electrically conductive contact parts, e.g. B. the elongated Contact pins or contact sockets, firmly anchored in the contact carrier his.
- the prior art knows contact carriers from two contact carrier halves of the type mentioned, in which one of the two Contact carrier halves via axial projections like a Plug connection can be plugged together with the other contact carrier half is.
- the two contact carrier halves must be in one another be threaded before locking into their causing electrically conductive contact parts in the cavities End position can be pushed together. This requires attention and skill in assembly and therefore also conditional a susceptibility to assembly errors.
- U1 is also a contact carrier made of two Contact carrier halves of the type mentioned in the known radially resilient from the edge of one of the contact carrier halves compliant protrusions in the axial direction over the outer surface of the extend other contact carrier half.
- the projections point Recesses on.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of a contact carrier of the type known from DE 90 148 56 U1 so that the assembly of the contact carrier is simplified and also a Possibility is created to ensure that the contact carrier only when fully assembled in a connector housing can be installed, the incomplete assembly so the Error can be determined since the contact carrier is not in the outer Plug housing fits.
- This configuration of the contact carrier can achieve that through the interaction of the guiding and holding projections on one contact carrier half with the projections the other contact carrier half the two contact carrier halves Although axially displaceable relative to each other by a limited distance are, however under the influence of forces, the can usually occur during assembly or use two contact carrier halves are inseparable are. This makes it possible for the two contact carrier halves initially by coaxial pushing together under the action of the guide and retaining projections in a first latching position bring in that they are not yet fully at their closest distance brought, but have a larger distance, that corresponds to the distance mentioned.
- the contact parts can be inserted into the cavities in a simple manner because the cavities of the two contact carrier halves aligned in pairs.
- the cavities of one of the contact carrier halves on their the other Contact carrier half facing openings each with radial are provided resilient locking elements that when assembling the two contact carrier halves with stop faces at the openings of the cavities of the other contact carrier half come into abutment to lock in radially To engage with the contact parts.
- the guide and holding projections of one contact carrier half designed to cross the outer surface of the others Contact carrier half and the projections provided there and / or edges so that when assembling the contact carrier halves no twisting of the same around the common axis is required. It is difficult to thread components avoided.
- the electrically conductive contact parts in the elongated Cavities of the contact carrier unlocked again in a simple manner and can be removed for replacement.
- Newly deployed Contact parts can be locked in a simple manner (locked) that both contact carrier halves again said distance can be axially shifted to each other, wherein the locking elements are bent radially inwards in order to in recesses or behind edges in the electrically conductive To grip contact parts and so the same in the contact carrier in lock at least one direction.
- contact carrier halves pulled apart or pushed together with a certain force to be to the components of the contact carrier in one position to bring in which the contact parts are essentially resistance-free inserted into or out of the contact carrier can be pulled out, after which the contact carrier halves brought into a locking position by axial pushing together in which not only they can be engaged by are firmly connected to each other, but also the contact parts are immovably positioned in the contact carrier.
- At least one of the leadership and Retaining processes that are formed on one of the contact carrier halves are, has a slot-shaped recess and the other Contact carrier half at least one with this recess is arranged in constant engagement projection.
- the guide and arranged on one contact carrier half Retaining projections are advantageously on that contact carrier half arranged when inserting the contact carrier is arranged in an outer housing on the insertion side.
- guiding and holding projections here means projections in the axial direction, d. H. with disassembled contact carrier halves the guide and holding projections are in axial Direction from the rest of the body of the contact carrier half. there the guiding and holding projections are preferably integral molded with this remaining body of the contact carrier half, for. B. from a suitable plastic.
- a further preferred embodiment of the contact carrier sees before that for coding at least one of the contact carrier halves with axially extending recesses on its peripheral surface is provided, in which optional insert parts can be used.
- the single figure shows schematically a perspective view of a contact carrier according to the invention during assembly.
- the contact carrier shown in the figure consists of two contact carrier halves 1, 2.
- the two contact carrier halves 1 and 2 are almost completely assembled in the state shown in the figure (except for a short axial distance, which is below is explained in more detail).
- cavities 4 extending in the axial direction are formed.
- the cavities 4 thus extend parallel to the longitudinal axis A.
- the longitudinal axis A is the central axis of both the contact carrier overall as well as its two contact carrier halves 1 and 2. In the illustrated embodiment, twelve cavities are 4 in the upper contact carrier half 2 formed.
- Contact carrier half 1 formed twelve cavities 3 that exactly aligned with the cavities 4 of the other contact carrier half, d. H. in the assembled state, the cavities 3 and 4 continuous, smooth cylindrical recesses through which electrically conductive contact parts (not shown) in the contact carrier can be used.
- the electrically conductive contact parts are usually at the contact carrier shown in the figure below and above in front to be connected to electrical conductors to be able to.
- the contact carrier thus forms one twelve-pin multiple electrical connector.
- the locking elements 5 are radial with respect to the Center axis of the associated cavity 4 bendable.
- the locking elements 5 are in the form of a circular wreath around the bottom opening of each of the cavities 4 four locking elements 5 may be provided, each by Slots are separated from each other so that they are bent radially can be.
- an electrically conductive contact part such as a wire pin (not shown).
- each of the guide and holding projections 6, 7, etc. is in each case formed a U-shaped recess.
- the U-shaped recess has two axial slots 10, 11 and one in Circumferentially extending slot 15.
- the Tongue 24 is thus integral with the lower contact carrier half 1 connected.
- the elastic tongue 24 is radially elastically movable, which is explained in more detail below.
- Protrusions 12, 13 are formed on the upper contact carrier half 2, which engage in the slots 10 and 11 respectively. Like in the The projections 12, 13 are ramp-like designed. If the upper contact carrier half 2 is axial (axis A) when assembling the two contact carrier halves from top to top Pushed down, the two ramp-shaped projections spread 12, 13 the guide and holding projection 6 radially against it Spring force slightly and slide into slots 10 and 11 respectively. Then the guide and holding projection 6 jumps due to it Elasticity radially inwards so that the area 18 of the U-shaped Guide and holding projection 6 snapping over the The upper edges of the projections 12, 13 come to rest.
- the upper and lower contact carrier halves 1, 2 has the upper one free end face 16 of the guide and holding projection 6 (and correspondingly the identical parts of the other guide and Holding projections) a predetermined distance from the lower edge a peripheral circumferential bar 20.
- This predetermined Distance corresponds to the above-mentioned distance.
- the locking elements 5 are on not radially after the lower openings of each cavity 4 pressed inside. This means that contact parts (not shown) such as B. accurately fitting wire pins in the cavities 3, 4 be or can be pulled out of these.
- the dimensions of the components are such that when the top free end face 16 of the holding and guiding extensions 6 etc. against the lower edge of the bar 20 abuts the locking elements 5 have reached exactly one position in which they are radially maximal are bent inward around the electrically conductive contact part pinch. It is understood that the further management and Retaining protrusions with corresponding components on the interact upper contact carrier half 2, as exemplified here described with reference to the guide and holding projection 6 is.
- the upper contact carrier half 2 in the in the state shown in the figure is no longer from the lower one Separate contact carrier half 1.
- the top edges of the protrusions 12, 13 which are behind the area 18 of the U-shaped guide and holding projection 6 locked are.
- a separation of the contact carrier halves 1, 2 is only possible if the guide and holding projections 6, 7 etc. are radial be bent up, which requires a special manual measure and cannot happen accidentally.
- a V-shaped notch 19 in the area 18 of the guiding and holding projection 6 makes it easier to push the contact carrier halves together 1, 2 in the position shown in the figure, wherein the bulge 14 in the outer surface of the upper contact carrier half 2 slides under the area 18, i. H. the V-shaped Slot 19 facilitates the radial expansion of area 18 the guide and holding projection 6.
- the bulge 14 the elastic tongue 24 radially outwards so that when inserted of the contact carrier in a housing, the inner circumference exactly is adapted to the outer circumference of the contact carrier, an obstacle arises, which hinders the insertion. This will the assembly error noticed. However, if the assembly is in accordance with the regulations, the elastic tongue 24 snaps radially inwards again behind the bulge 14 so that nothing about the cylindrical The outer contour of the contact carrier protrudes and the insertion into the housing hampers.
- the figure further shows several in the lower contact carrier half 1 Coding recesses 21, which are recesses in the outer Contour of the lower half of the contact carrier are formed.
- the recesses 21 extend on the circumference in the axial direction.
- inserts 22 can optionally be inserted into the recesses 21.
- the coding recesses have 21 longitudinal profiles on their inner side edges 23, in the side projections on the insert parts 22 engage so that the insert parts 22 stable in the recesses 21 are held.
