Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for application a still wet or damp paper or cardboard web (Material web) in the manufacturing process with a liquid or pasty application medium according to the General term of the first procedural or Device claim.
- the above two methods and devices include the disadvantage that either due to a Strainer or due to insufficient Uniformity when applying the surface of the Application medium is not sufficiently smooth and even is.
- the task is based on the characteristics of the first Process claim or by the features of the first device claim solved.
- the inventors have recognized that it is advantageous to the known application methods the material web which the order medium is given up and / or that Sieve through which the application medium to the Material web is introduced in the area of Application point with water, preferably as water vapor to treat, that is, to condition. Hereby is achieved that the uniformity of the order is improved on the running material web.
- the Application efficiency is the ratio between the amount of order medium, which is actually after the application process sticks to the material web, and the amount processed in the applicator of order medium.
- sieve conditioning is achieved that there is a reduction in Screen contamination, or a reduction in Soiling tendency of the sieves results in a Increases the permeability of the sieves.
- it is advantageous that the Temperature gradient between the application medium ( Application color) and the sieve is reduced, since previously heated the sieve.
- Another advantage is that it is through this additional cleaning of the sieves is now possible binder-rich application media, respectively Application colors in double sieve area one Paper machine.
- An example of a Application-rich application paint is a starch additive represents.
- the sieve is conditioned, after the sieve through which the application medium is on the web of material is applied, from the Material web has replaced, so the Conditioning an increase in Throughput speeds reached and better Cleaning, also due to additional Solution processes, achieved. In any case, no matter at where the conditioning of the sieve is made, an increase in Throughput speed of the application medium the sieve achieved. As a result of this improved The passage speed is reduced in the sieve retained components, respectively the Remains of the application medium and a baking of the paint the sieve is prevented. Another positive effect the conditioning of the sieve is that due to the better application efficiency Reduction of water pollution by application medium as Consequence of screen cleaning is achieved.
- Conditioning may also be advantageous on both sides of the web respectively Seven to be carried out on both sides of the material web.
- a a further advantageous embodiment is that immediately during or after conditioning Extraction of excess liquid or of Contamination takes place. For example happen that the applicator opposite a suction box is attached, or the Conditioning the screen or the material web a suction roll takes place.
- the water vapor or the water is mixed with surface-active additives.
- surface-active additives can be, for example, surfactants or similar agents.
- a pigment-free or pigment-containing slurry (slurry) or application paint can be used as a possible application medium.
- Fillers of the application medium can serve, for example, kaolin, clay, calcium carbonate, zeolite, bentonite, TiO 2 or the like.
- starch, latex and surface sizing agents are suitable as binders.
- Retention agents, optical brighteners or other additives that improve printability can be used as chemical additives.
- Non-stick agents can also be used. It is pointed out that this list is not exhaustive, but that all application media known from the coating industry can be used, or combinations of the above-mentioned agents can be used, or can be used one after the other.
- Material web becomes a material web, especially one Paper web viewed that has a solids content of 3 to 50%, preferably from 3 to 23%, preferably from 3 to 17%.
- An advantageous action time of the water or the water vapor on the material web and / or on the sieve is between 0.1 to 10, maximum to 15 milliseconds.
- the application weight per side is between 1 to 15 g / m 2 [otro].
- An advantageous amount of water or steam, which is fed to the sieve is in the range of free screen volume, that is, the volume that the Gaps in the sieve corresponds.
- the benefits of such Design of a wet area can be reached described in detail above.
- the applicator directly, without a sieve in between or felt in between over the web surface be arranged so that the applicator directly on the Acts on the surface of the material web.
- This will particularly advantageous a further liquefaction of the Application medium reached and a flow of up to existing bumps and thus one The order is evened out.
- FIG. 1 shows a material web 1, which is on a Sieve 2 rests. Material web 1 and screen 2 are from coming on the right to a suction roll 5.
- the Suction roll 5 has a suction zone, which in the Wrapping area of the sieve 2 and the material web 1 is arranged around the suction roller 5.
- an application device 8 Opposite to the suction area is an application device 8 shown that an order medium 9 on the applies exposed material web.
- a first applicator 7.1 is provided, of the material web with water, preferably in the form of water vapor, conditioned. Is also a second immediately after the job Applicator 7.2 arranged, the post-treatment of material web coated with application medium 1 carries out.
- the first conditioning of the Material web 1 with the first applicator 7.1 becomes a Preparation of the material web carried out the one improved adhesion and a more even application of the application medium on the material web.
- the water can also be different, above described aids are added.
- the Conditioning the material web with the second Applicator 7.2 promotes the flow of the Application medium 9 on the material web 1, so that an equalization of the order over the entire Width of the material web results.
- the application device 8 is only roughly schematic in this example shown. It can happen here and also with everyone others described in this application Application devices around any known Application device in the form of a doctor blade, one Spraying device or a roller application or act similarly.
- Figure 2 shows a conditioning according to the invention of a twin sieve with an intermediate one Material web in the area of a suction roll.
- a double sieve 3 with the intermediate material web is with the Running direction 4 brought up to a suction roller and wraps around the suction roll 5 over a subsector.
- the side facing away from the suction roll of the twin wire 3 by a first applicator 7.1 conditioned.
- Application device 8 arranged a Application medium 9 through the external sieve of Double sieve through to the sandwich applies enclosed material web.
- the Permeability of the sieve is through the first Applicator 7.1 has been promoted.
- Figure 3 shows the situation directly the order point of a twin wire. It is a Double sieve 3 shown, the 2.1 and a top sieve a bottom screen 2.2 has. Between the top sieve and the bottom wire is sandwiched one Material web 1 can be seen together with the seven on the application device 8 with the direction of rotation 4 is led past.
- a first applicator 7.1 shown schematically, the Upper screen 2.1 before reaching the job site conditioned so that a better penetration of the Application medium 9, which by the application device 8 is brought up to the sieve.
- a second applicator 7.2 arranged, which now saturated with the application medium Upper sieve 2.1 further conditioned, so that a better one Penetration of the application medium 9 through the sieve the material web is enabled. Through this Measure is achieved that firstly The order is evened out and secondly a better penetration of the sieve and thus a sets improved order efficiency.
- FIG. 4 shows another one according to the invention Embodiment of conditioning a material web shown.
- a twin wire 3 with one between the Upper sieve 2.1 and the lower sieve 2.2 lying Material web 1 is brought up to a suction roll 5.
- the Twin wire In the area of the suction zone 6 of the suction roller 5, the Twin wire through an application device 8 with a Application medium 9 applied.
- the top wire 2.1 of the Material web lifted off.
- FIG. 5 shows a twin wire 3 connected to a Suction roller 5 is brought up with a suction zone 6, the top wire 2.1 at the end of the suction zone from the between the upper sieve 2.1 and the lower sieve 2.2 lying material web 1 is lifted.
- an applicator 7 provided that supported by one opposite sucker 10 the sieve 2.1 with water, preferably in the form of water vapor, conditioned and the pores of the sieve, which was previously covered with a Application medium for loading the material web 1 was charged, cleaned and blown free.
