Definitions
- the invention relates to a knife corresponding the preamble of claim 1.
- Such a knife is for example from the US-A-3,708,881.
- US-A-3,708,881 In a known, in the However, it has proven to be a very beneficial knife negatively emphasized that when using the knife in functional safety in a dirty work environment of the knife due to the knife blade guide channel penetrated dirt particles reduced has been.
- the object of the invention is therefore a new knife to create, which also in prolonged use in high operational safety in a dirt-laden environment having.
- the knife according to the invention has the important one Advantage that the knife blade guide channel as an essential Access area for dirt particles through the piston-like slide completely closed is, with additionally in withdrawn Position penetrated dirt particles when moving the slide into the cutting position from the handle body are promoted.
- This has the further advantage that even after long use in heavily soiled Material to be cut (e.g. bitumen roofing membranes etc.) or in dirt-laden environment (underground operation) always one perfect spring return is guaranteed, because the interior of the Knife can not be done.
- a particularly preferred embodiment has of the invention a knife blade cover that at its boundary pointing away from the blade cutting surface Has hinges. These hinges enable in the case of assembly or disassembly the knife blade simply exposes the blade, being the cover without the risk of loss in remains in a defined position on the handle body.
- the knife 10 has a housing 11 on which a blade safety cover 12 by means of a hinge G and a cover 13 of an extension member 14 is screw-fastened.
- a handling component 18 is attached in the handle body 11 in a knife blade guide channel 15 available, one with a knife blade 16 movement-connected slide 17 is arranged a handling component 18 is attached.
- the handling component 18 is in a slot-like recess 19 of the extension member 14 out.
- the Handle body 11 has a web 20 (see FIGS. 3 to 5) on, the slot-like recess on one side 19 of the extension member 14 limited and whose other side facing the knife blade 16 is one Tension spring 21 is attached to the other end on Slider 17 is arranged.
- the handling component 18 protrudes on both sides from the contour of the extension component 14 out. It is also eccentric rotatably mounted on the slide 17.
- a locking member 22 is arranged, which has an undercut, not shown which is also an extension, not shown, of the cover 13 of the extension member 14 is held.
- the slide 17 has a knife blade side Recess 24 (see FIG. 4) with one protruding into it Fastening pin 25 for receiving the knife blade 16 and a knife blade cover arranged thereon 26 on.
- the knife blade 16 and the knife blade cover 26 are each with at least one recess A provided by the actuating pin 25th can be penetrated.
- the dimensions of the recess 24 are chosen so that the top of the knife blade cover 26 with the top of the slide 17 completes (see Fig. 2).
- the extension component 14 pointing limitation of the knife blade cover 26 formed as a hinge S see. Fig. 3 and 5), so the cover 26 for the purpose of removal or Exchange of the knife blade 16 in a stable vertical Position can be moved.
- the knife blade safety cover 12 has laterally set back from the actual surface 27 Area 28 on which when closing the knife blade safety flap 12 by pushing it back the knife blade safety cover in the y direction the wall of the handle body 11 in the area 29 engages below.
- the result is not shown Way a jam between a surface 30 (see FIGS. 3 to 5) of the locking component 22 and a bottom surface 31 of the knife blade safety cover 12. So that for the movement of the knife blade safety cover 12 necessary in the y direction Force can be easily applied surface 27 of the knife blade safety cover 12 two oppositely arranged thumb wells 32 (see Fig. 1).
- FIG. 6 shows the cutting position of the Knife 10 in a so-called force cut approximately perpendicular to a cutting good SG.
- the knife 10 will from an almost fist-shaped hand in the middle Gripped area, the handling part by means of the thumb 18 moved in the direction of the knife blade 16 becomes. In this position it is now possible without much Fatigue to perform the force cuts.
- the slide 17 namely has an outer contour A 1 , which corresponds approximately to an inner contour A 2 of the knife blade guide channel 15. Due to this dimensioning, dirt particles that have penetrated into the knife blade guide channel 15 can be pressed out like a piston from the knife blade guide channel 15 when the slide 17 moves into the cutting position, namely through the access opening (access area) 33 located on the end face F of the handle body 11 , On the other hand, in the cutting position of the knife 10, the piston-like slide 17 closes the access opening 33 to the knife blade guide channel 15, so that practically no dirt particles can get into the knife blade guide channel 15 during the cutting work. This ensures functional reliability even after long use of the knife 10 in a dirty work environment.
