This makes it possible to first wind hair around the circumferential surface by means of the hair guides in the projecting positions, by twisting the instrument substantially about its central axis and, subsequently, once the hair has been heated, retracting the hair guides and withdrawing the housing with the fully retracted hair guides from the hair in an axial direction.
  • curling brushes are intended specifically for curling the hair in a specific manner and do not provide a solution for problems arising from differences in the behavior between wet and drier hair.
  • the hair styling instrument in accordance with the invention is characterized in that at least a plurality of said hair guides is retractable from a first position, in which these hair guides project fully from the housing, to at least a second position, in which these hair guides project from the housing at least to a smaller extent than in said first position.
  • the hair guides or at least the further hair guides are retractable out of the projecting first position, the number of fully projecting hair guides and the fineness of the hair guide structure can be adapted very rapidly to the humidity and the tangled condition of the hair.

Since the fine combs formed by the fixed outer hair guides 14 are spaced from the central fixed hair guides 12 and are oriented away from these central fixed hair guides 12, it is possible to style the hair exclusively with the coarse hair guides 12 when the hair guides 13 have been retracted in spite of the fact that also finer fixed hair guides project from the housing 8. This is possible in a particularly effective manner since the fine fixed hair guides 14 end at a distance from a plane defined by the proximal ends of the central fixed hair guides 12.
  • adjustable hair guides 13 are mounted so as to be wholly retractable into the housing 8, it is achieved that they do not in any way impair the styling of wet tangled hair. However, even when the adjustable hair guides have are not mounted so as to be fully retractable into the housing, this may already facilitate the styling of wet and tangled hair.
  • the adjustable hair guides 13 extend through the passages 10 which allow hot air to pass from the housing 8 to the exterior.

  • the shape and the position of these ribs 29 have been selected in such a manner that the fingers 28 are bent when the transmission members 22 are moved from the first position to the second position.

  • adjustable hair guides are locked in an intermediate position, they act upon a smaller part of the hair than in a fully projecting position.

  • the further hair guides 13 are detachable from the housing 8, as a result of which, when they are not in the said fully projecting first position, they are in another position, i.e. detached from said housing 8.
  • This has the advantage that a very simple construction is obtained.
  • the further hair guides 13 present no resistance to the air passing through the passages 10.
  • the use of detachable further hair guides has the advantage that only a small additional attachment comprising these detachable further hair guides is required rather than a complete additional attachment.
  • the hair styling instrument shown in Fig. 4 further comprises a detachable carrier 30 carrying the further hair guides 13.
  • the carrier 30 comprises two plate-shaped parts 31 having passages corresponding to the passages 10 as regards their location and shape.
  • the plate-shaped parts 31 are interconnected by integrally formed connecting portions 32 which extend along the outside of the housing 8.
  • the carrier 30 is locked to the housing by means of locking fingers (not shown) and is detachable from the housing in the direction indicated by arrows 33.
  • the hair styling instrument can be asymmetric or have only one large passage instead of a plurality of small passages.
  • the adjustable hair guides can be movable in accordance with different patterns of movement, such as by translation or by combinations for rotation and translation, which combinations can be characterized by curved centrodes of instantaneous centers of rotation.

Claims (12)

  1. Frisierinstrument mit einem Gehäuse (8) mit einer Vorderseite (9), die mindestens einen Durchlass (10) aufweist, durch den erwärmte Luft vom Gehäuse (8) nach außen dringen kann, und mit einer von der Vorderseite (9) abgekehrten Rückseite (11), und länglichen hervorstehenden Haarführungen (12, 13, 14) ausschließlich an der Vorderseite (9) des Gehäuses (8), dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass mindestens eine Vielzahl der genannten Haarführungen (13) von einer ersten Stellung, in der diese Haarführungen (13) vollständig aus dem Gehäuse (8) hervorstehen, in mindestens eine zweite Stellung zurückziehbar sind, in der diese Haarführungen (13) mindestens in einem kleineren Maße aus dem Gehäuse (8) hervorstehen als in der genannten ersten Stellung.
  2. Frisierinstrument nach Anspruch 1, in dem die Rückseite (11) des Gehäuses (8) als Kupplungsmuffe zum Anbringen an einer Föhneinheit (1) ausgeführt ist.
  3. Frisierinstrument nach Anspruch 1, in dem die Rückseite des Gehäuses als Handgriff (1) einer Föhneinheit ausgeführt ist und Lufteinlässe (3), einen Luftkanal (4) und, in diesem Luftkanal (4), einen Ventilator (5) und ein Heizelement (6) zum Erwärmen der hindurchströmenden Luft umfasst.
  4. Frisierinstrument mit einem Gehäuse (8) mit mindestens einem Durchlass (10), durch den erwärmte Luft vom Gehäuse (8) nach außen dringen kann, und - in dem Bereich des genannten mindestens einen Durchlasses (10) - länglichen Haarführungen (12, 14), die eine feste Länge aus dem Gehäuse (8) hervorstehen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass eine Vielzahl weiterer Haarführungen (13) vorgesehen ist, die von einer ersten Stellung, in der diese Haarführungen (13) vollständig aus dem Gehäuse (8) hervorstehen, in mindestens eine zweite Stellung zurückziehbar sind, in der diese Haarfürungen (13) mindestens in einem kleineren Maße aus dem Gehäuse (8) hervorstehen als in der genannten ersten Stellung.
  5. Frisierinstrument nach Anspruch 4, in dem der Abstand zwischen mindestens einer Vielzahl von aufeinanderfolgenden feststehenden Haarführungen (12) größer ist als der Abstand zwischen aufeinanderfolgenden der genannten weiteren Haarführungen (14).
  6. Frisierinstrument nach Anspruch 4 oder 5, in dem die genannten weiteren Haarführungen (13) in ihrer vollständig herausgezogenen Stellung zwischen Haarführungsstrukturen von unterschiedlicher Feinheit hervorstehen, die jeweils durch feststehende Haarführungen (12, 14) gebildet werden, welche aus dem Gehäuse (8) hervorstehen.
  7. Frisierinstrument nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, in dem die bewegbaren Haarführungen (13) so angeordnet sind, dass sie in eine Stellung bewegt werden können, in der sie vollständig in das Gehäuse (8) zurückgezogen sind.
  8. Frisierinstrument nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, in dem sich die bewegbaren Haarführungen (13) durch den mindestens einen Durchlass (10) erstrecken, damit erwärmte Luft aus dem Gehäuse (8) nach außen dringen kann.
  9. Frisierinstrument nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, in dem die bewegbaren Haarführungen (13) zwischen den genannten mindestens zwei Stellungen bewegt werden können, wobei das Instrument weiterhin Arretiermittel (28, 29) umfasst, um die bewegbaren Haarführungen (13) in den genannten mindestens zwei Stellungen zu arretieren.
  10. Frisierinstrument nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, das weiterhin mindestens einen Träger (17) umfasst, der schwenkbar in dem Gehäuse (8) gelagert ist und der mindestens eine Vielzahl der bewegbaren Haarführungen (13) trägt, wobei der genannte mindestens eine Träger (17) und die von diesem getragenen Haarführungen gemeinsam zwischen den genannten mindestens zwei Positionen schwenkbar sind.
  11. Frisierinstrument nach Anspruch 10, bei dem die Anzahl der genannten Träger (17) mindestens zwei beträgt und die genannten mindestens zwei Träger (17) um Schwenkachsen (18) herum schwenkbar sind, die sich in der Nähe von einander entgegengesetzten Seiten (21) des Gehäuses 8 erstrecken, und zwar zwischen einer ersten Stellung, in der sich die Träger (17) entlang der Wand des Gehäuses (8) erstrecken und die Haarführungen (13) vollständig aus dem Gehäuse (8) hervorstehen, und einer zweiten Stellung, in der die Träger (17) von ihren Schwenkachsen (18) aus aufeinander zu gerichtet sind und die Haarführungen (13) maximal in einem kleineren Maß aus dem Gehäuse (8) hervorstehen als in der genannten ersten Stellung.
  12. Frisierinstrument nach Anspruch 10 oder 11, das weiterhin ein Übertragungselement (22) enthält, welches in einer ersten und mindestens einer zweiten Stellung arretiert werden kann und auf den mindestens einen Träger (17) in einem Abstand von der Schwenkachse (18) wirkt.
