  • d) danach werden Stanzschnitte in der Materialbahn angebracht zur Bildung von Faltlappen und gleichzeitig ein quergerichteter Trennschnitt zum Abtrennen jeweils eines Zuschnitts von der Materialbahn,
  • e) die Materialbahn weist eine geringfügig größere Breite auf als die Längsabmessung der Zuschnitte, wobei an beiden Längsrändem der Materialbahn durch konturierte Längsschnitte, die Konturen der Zuschnitte hergestellt werden durch Abtrennen von entsprechenden Materialstücken während des Anbringens der Stanzschnitte,

    Claims (15)

    1. Method of manufacturing cigarette packs of the hinge-lid type by the folding of blanks (10) made of thin cardboard in a packaging machine (22), the blanks (10) being severed from a material web (19) by stamping and further formed by folding tabs delimited by punched-out lines (18) as well as folding lines (16, 17) formed by embossing, characterized by the following features:
      a) the material web (19) is provided on one side with printing (29), namely during the formation of blanks (10) lying adjacent to one another, with printing (29) corresponding to the outer design of the hinge-lid pack,
      b) the printing (29) is applied so that the blanks (10) within the material web (19) are directed transversely to the longitudinal direction of same, such that the printing for a box part (11) and a lid (12) follow one another in the transverse direction of the material web (19),
      c) in a blanks unit (31) assigned to the packaging machine (22), embossments are first applied to the material web (19) to form the folding lines (16, 17) of the blanks (10) to be produced, namely longitudinal folding lines (16) running transverse to the longitudinal extent of the material web (19) and transverse folding lines (17) running in the direction of the material web (19),
      d) subsequently, punch cuts (18) are applied to the material web (19) to form folding tabs and simultaneously a respective transverse severing cut (32) is applied to sever each blank (10) from the material web (19),
      e) the material web (19) has a width that is slightly greater than the longitudinal dimension of the blanks (10), with the contours of the blanks (10) being produced by contoured longitudinal cuts (34, 35) at the two longitudinal edges of the material web (19) by severing the corresponding material pieces (61, 62) as the punch cuts (18) are being applied.
    2. Method according to Claim 1, characterized in that the produced and conveyed-away blanks (10) are fed to a collecting station, within which piles of blanks (23) are formed from successively provided blanks (10) and said piles then being fed to the packaging machine (22).
    3. Method according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that in the region of a shaping assembly (65) the material web (19), drawn from a reel (21, 26), is subjected to compensatory deformation (decurling) before it is introduced into the blanks unit (31) in order to eliminate any curvature of the material web (19) or of the blanks (10) caused by the coiling of the reels (21, 26).
    4. Method according to Claim 1, characterized in that the blanks (10) can be severed from the blanks web (70) in pairs, namely as pairs of blanks (73), with the blanks pairs (73) being separated from one another when the blanks (10) are fed to the folding turret (74).
    5. Device for manufacturing cigarette packs of the hinge-lid type from blanks (10) in a packaging machine (22), the blanks (10), consisting of thin cardboard, being produced by stamping or cutting and being provided at least on one side with printing (29), with folding lines (16, 17) formed by embossing and with punched-out lines (18) to delimit folding flaps, it being possible to sever the blanks (10) from a continuous material web (19) by severing cuts in the region of a blanks unit (31, 69) assigned to the packaging machine (22), characterized by the following features
      a) the material web (19) is provided with printing on one side, thereby forming adjacent blanks (10) having printing (29) that corresponds to the outer design of the hinge-lid pack,
      b) the printing (29) is applied such that the blanks (10) within the material web (19) are directed transverse to its longitudinal direction such that the printing for a box part (11) and a lid (12) follow one another in the transverse direction of the material web,
      c) the blanks unit (31, 69) has an embossing assembly (41) for the purpose of applying embossments to form the folding lines (16, 17) of the blanks to be produced, namely longitudinal folding lines (16) running transverse to the longitudinal extent of the material web (19) and transverse folding lines (17) running in the direction of the material web (19),
      d) the blanks unit (31, 69) has a cutting assembly (33) downstream of the embossing assembly (41) for the purpose of applying punch cuts (18) in the material web (19) to form folding tabs and simultaneously to apply a transverse severing cut (32) to separate each blank (10) from the material web (19),
      e) in the region of the blanks unit (31, 69) it is possible to produce at least side contours of the blanks (10) at the two longitudinal edges of the material web (19) by means of longitudinal cuts (34, 35) made as the punch cuts (18) are being applied, namely by severing the corresponding material pieces (61, 62) from the material web (19), whose width is slightly greater than the longitudinal extent of the blanks (10).
    6. Device according to claim 5, characterized in that a printing assembly (38) is arranged upstream of the cutting assembly (33) of the blanks unit (31, 69) for the purpose of applying printing (29) to the material web (19) or to the blanks (10) in the region of the material web (19).
    7. Device according to Claim 5, characterized in that the blanks unit (31, 69) is connected to the packaging machine (22) via a conveyor (24, 59) for piles of blanks.
    8. Device according to Claim 5, characterized in that a shaping assembly (65) for the material web (19) is disposed upstream of the blanks unit (31, 69), the shaping assembly (65) having at least one shaping tool to remove deformation caused by the coiling of the material web (19) as a reel (21, 26).
    9. Device according to Claim 9, characterized in that the shaping tool is a shaping roller (68) acting as a deflection roller for the material web (19), which can be adjusted in accordance with the deformation of the material web (19) by the reel (21, 26), in order to achieve varying compensatory shaping of the material web (19).
    10. Device according to Claim 5, characterized in that a blanks path (44) is joined to the blanks unit (31, 69) in the region of which path the individual blanks (10) can be piled up into piles of blanks (23), specifically in shaft-like stackers (46, 47) which are open upwards.
    11. Device according to Claim 10, characterized in that the blanks (10) can be transported in the region of the blanks path (44) by rollers or pairs of rollers (45) and can be conveyed by movable guide members, namely swivel-mounted guide plates (52, 53), into the respective stacker (46, 47).
    12. Device according to Claim 10, characterized in that in the region of the blanks path (44), the blanks (10) may be monitored by monitoring devices to check that their configuration is correct, and in that faulty blanks (10) can be transported along the blanks path (44) to a collecting device for faulty blanks (10), namely to a collecting vessel (56) with a connecting extraction pipe (58) to extract faulty blanks.
    13. Device according to Claim 10, characterized in that the piles of blanks (23) formed in the stackers (46, 47) can be pushed by a slide (50) from the respective stacker (46, 47) in a transverse direction to a conveyor for piles of blanks (49), which guides the piles of blanks (23) to a vertical conveyor (59) and then to horizontal conveyor (24).
    14. Device according to Claim 5, characterized in that the blanks (10) can be separated in the region of the blanks unit (69) only partially from the material web (19), namely in such a way that the blanks (10) are held via residual connections (71) to a web of blanks (70), it being possible for individual blanks or pairs of blanks (73) in the region of a severance assembly (72) to be separated from the web of blanks (70) and fed to the packaging machine (22).
    15. Device according to Claim 14, characterized in that pairs of blanks (73) can be led to the packaging machine (22) or a rotary folding unit (74) of same, and the pairs of blanks (73) can be separated into individual blanks (10) in the region of the packaging machine (22).
